Back to the Past to Become a Fishing King

Chapter 278 Brother Ma of Wa City Got Beaten_2

"Heh heh, not a problem at all! Since they're paying up and backing down, I won't hold it against them!"

Meng Fan was also very pleased. Seeing the enemy he couldn't deal with himself being easily handled and made to suffer by the captain felt even better than winning a pit crown.

"Come on, come on, don't just sit there. To celebrate the captain getting revenge for me, I'm raising a glass! I'm chugging it!" Meng Fan filled his glass and stood up directly from his seat.

The group raised their glasses again, indulging in another joyful drink.

While Zhang Yang and his group were enjoying shrimp and beer, on the other side, Qian Wenjun was meeting with his close friend, Little Ma.

Little Ma: "Did you find out where they're staying? I've got the people arranged!"

Qian Wenjun pulled out his phone and dialed a number for the second time. After asking a few questions, he quickly received a location address via WeChat.

Qian Wenjun replied, "Just now, I asked a few friends and got some news. After the match ends, Zhang Yang and Wei Song are mixed in together. I bet they scheduled to drink together tonight. Here's the address a friend sent me. Let's check it out!"

"Alright, let's go then!"

Twenty-five minutes later, two vans and a Wrangler arrived at the entrance of the lobster restaurant.

Seeing the W City license plates on Zhang Yang and his group's vehicles, Qian Wenjun pointed excitedly at their car and said, "It's right here, that's a W City plate!"

Little Ma disdainfully glanced at Zhang Yang's van and mockingly remarked, "Driving a broken van out to compete, who do they think they are? You stay in the car, I'll handle the rest!"

"Be careful, Zhang Yang has about five or six people with him. Don't get beaten up!"

"Don't worry, not many have ever managed to get the better of your Brother Ma! I'm going in!" Ma Weiqi said dismissively with a cigarette dangling from his lips, then got out of the car.

Soon, seven or eight young men in their twenties stepped out of the two cars behind him, some with shaved heads, others flaunting dragon and tiger tattoos on their arms, looking like typical street toughs.

"Got your gear ready? Follow me!" Ma Weiqi called out, leading the group into the restaurant.

"Hello sir, do you have a reservation? How many are you?" As soon as they entered, the sharp-eyed lobby manager approached them.

Recent years had seen W City's security improve significantly, rarely encountering situations where a disagreement leads to a fight. It wasn't unusual for the restaurant to see social figures like Ma Weiqi come in to eat, and the hotel staff were used to it.

"Hello, my friend's dining here, could you help us check which private room? His name's Wei Song! His phone's off, can't reach him!" Little Ma casually fibbed with ease.

"Oh, oh, you're a friend of Brother Wei? He's in the large suite, 201. Let me show you up!"

The lobby manager couldn't understand why Wei Song needed the largest suite for just seven people dining, but seeing another group come in, he naturally assumed they were all friends without thinking twice.

"No need to bother you, we'll find our way up ourselves!" Knowing the location, Ma Weiqi led his group up to the second floor.

Upstairs, the private room battle had already turned fierce. After a few rounds of drinks, everyone had transitioned from the collective toast phase to individual chats, each having downed at least four or five bottles of beer.

Amid the energetic atmosphere of the room, suddenly there was a loud bang as the private room door was kicked open.

Ma Weiqi charged into the room first, quickly crossing the space and grabbing Zhou Chu, who sat next to Wei Song, by the collar.

According to dining etiquette surrounding W City, the guest of honor would sit in the main seat, but young Zhang Yang had chosen to let the eldest in their squad, Zhou Chu, take the lead seat instead.

Not knowing Zhang Yang's age, Ma Weiqi misunderstood and assumed Zhou Chu was Zhang Yang, leading to this rather absurd scene.

"Nobody move! You must be Zhang Yang, right? I'm only interested in you today - nobody else needs to get involved. Anyone who doesn't want trouble, stay put!"

Ma Weiqi intimidatingly drew a circle with an empty beer bottle before everyone, his gaze fierce.

Following Ma Weiqi's plan, once the captain was controlled, the others would surely be bewildered, making it easy to pull someone out and get Qian Wenjun's money back.

But what he didn't know was that facing him was a bunch of guys with beer gut confidence, considering themselves second only to heaven. They didn't go out looking for trouble as an act of restraint, so there was no way they would tolerate these troublemakers.

Though Zhou Chu was being grabbed by the collar, he didn't show any fear or clarify the mistake. Instead, he calmly asked, "It's me. Who are you? Got a problem?"

"I'm looking for you! Come with me; I have something that needs sorting!" Ma Weiqi saw the identification confirmed and started to drag him out.

At this point, Wei Song glanced at Ma Weiqi and asked hesitantly, "Are you Ma Weiqi? Used to hang out with Old Cao and the others? They're my friends; what the hell are you doing?"

Ma Weiqi gave Wei Song a bewildered look and replied rudely, "What I want has nothing to do with you. If you know what's best, behave, or you'll get the same treatment!"

While the group's attention was on Wei Song, Wang Yan, the fierce tiger sitting diagonally opposite, couldn't hold back anymore.

He grabbed a beer bottle and charged forward like a madman.

Ma Weiqi only saw a figure flash before brushing past him, his head buzzing a moment later.

The bottle exploded on his forehead, glass shards flying, and it was only then his brain registered the cracking sound. His awareness was half a beat slow.

"Damn it! Coming here to mess with us, blind as a bat! Which one of you wants to try me? Come on!"

Wang Yan shouted at the top of his lungs, swinging another beer bottle down.

Though it seemed like a long time, it was actually just a few lines of conversation from Ma Weiqi's entrance to Wang Yan's attack.

Once Wang Yan acted, none of the others backed down either. Including Zhang Yang, everyone grabbed beer bottles and joined the brawl.

Including Wei Song, Zhang Yang's side had a total of seven people, while Ma Weiqi brought eight, meaning neither side had a decisive advantage. The young men he brought were tougher than average, having been in a few fights.

But Zhang Yang's group weren't soft either; intimidation didn't work on them. Once things got physical, even the usually steady Zhou Chu picked up a bottle and promptly dealt another hit to Ma Weiqi.

In the confined space, the brawl had no technique at all; it was all about striking first to gain the upper hand. Anyone who dared to act wouldn't be at a disadvantage.

Though half a street tough himself, Ma Weiqi was done for today, having done nothing but talk a big game, only to get hit with three bottles on the head.

He was still awake after the first two, but once Zhou Chu's bottle landed, his scalp tore open, and blood flowed down, covering his eyes and hair on his forehead.

Wang Yan had acted, and Zhang Yang was equally busy, but his focus wasn't on Ma Weiqi; he was watching a young man behind Ma Weiqi with a knife.

This youth seemed older than the others, silent from the moment he entered, but carrying a long object wrapped in clothing under his arm. As soon as the fight started, he drew a shiny, curved blade.

While everyone fought bare-handed or with bottles, the damage was somewhat controllable, but once knives were drawn, it confirmed another level. Especially such a curved blade; a single cut can mean stitches galore.

Seeing him moving to strike at Wang Yan, Zhang Yang seized the chance to step forward. With a swinging arm, he hit the opponent's wrist with the bottle.

Oof, the young man let out a wretched scream; the bottle didn't break, but caused the knife to drop from his hand.

The bottom of the bottle, the thickest part, struck the wrist bones solidly, a pain worse than a knife wound.

Having eliminated the greatest threat, Zhang Yang kicked the fallen knife under the table, then chose his next target to help Meng Fan by swinging another beer bottle at someone else.

In little less than three minutes, the brawl was basically over; Wang Yan, looking like a War God, leading the charge, his T-shirt stained in someone's blood, creating a frightening image. The lackeys Ma Weiqi brought had two flee the scene, while the remaining six were all knocked to the ground.
