Chapter 234: Assembling the Spear_3

"No, this is still human thinking, but it's very close."

Kane's subconscious still considered himself a candidate for the Trial of Courage; he came for this, to sever the shackles of fate.

"Kane, what do you want to obtain?"

Kane paused.

He understood Ethan's intent, and the fragmented spear in his hand seemed to subtly change.

No matter the truth, Ethan had just "sold" him a story.

A human boy who embarks on an adventure due to fate, after enduring numerous trials, reaches this world and hears the truth of destiny from his most trusted "old butler". To reforge the Spear of War, he must forsake his last bit of humanity—this is the story Kaisaros most wishes to hear.

When the story becomes reality, Kaisaros will awaken.

Breaking the barriers and seals of the planes, he will return to this world, again ahead of all the Old Gods.

That is an unimaginable, supreme power and authority for Kane.

He could even hear a voice from within, urging him to quickly realize this story and become the true winner of the Trial of Courage.

But this is not the story of the young Kane.

He clenched the fragmented spear in his hand.

This was a key to ascending the Iron Throne, but what else could it be used for?

Kane could feel that a touch of soul was becoming increasingly clear, as if close at hand, within reach.

It could be a key, or it could be... a weapon aimed at the Iron Throne!

Then the story that follows is about how those defying "destiny" should reforge this symbol of Kaisaros' ultimate power and authority.

"While you were strengthening the Spear of War, I also found out some information about the magic net and the initial state of the world."

Ethan timely added fuel to the "new version" of the story.

If they don't plan to use the rules from the "old version" story to forge the Spear of War, they must reset, using ways that conform to the logic of this world to forge a new Spear of War.

Although Kaisaros has lost his mental capacity, the rules he originally set are still in effect.

Continuing to be effective until a new successor ascends the throne, or the day of his awakening.

The question then arises, in a world created by Kaisaros, what could make the ruler of this world fear and counter this force?

"It's natural elements."

Kane blurted out.

He grasped the answer; this plane is the closest to Kaisaros, equivalent to the deepest part of the contamination zone. According to the theory proposed by Reception Bureau investigators, when the level exceeds three layers, the power gained through faith extinguishes like fireflies because the Old Gods will retract their power, returning them to mortality.

And here has long exceeded three layers.

Only natural elements are omnipresent, even in the deeper planes.

Kaisaros defines McCarthy Delin and the magic net as the biggest "villains" of this world. From the moment they arrived in this world, the "villains" have had the upper hand. If they don't intervene in this war, the failure of the subhumans is inevitable, aligning with the true historical trajectory.

"Very good."

Ethan nodded in satisfaction.

The "new version" story already had a good start; he could see the young human's fate displaying another path.

"The strengthening of the Spear of War failed."

"The adventurer faces new challenges, must think of another way to reforge the Spear of War; it will become the weapon aimed at the Iron Throne, crucial in severing the shackles of fate."

"After discussion among teammates, they might be able to harness the power of the elements."

"They need elemental forging."

Ethan then asked, "So here's the question, at this moment, who is the strongest Elemental Shaper in this world?"

"McCarthy Delin!"

That question wasn't difficult at all; Kane immediately thought of this Elemental Shaper, seen as a thorn in Kaisaros' side.

Regardless of how many times the world restarted, regardless of how the settings changed, McCarthy Delin was always the sole "big villain"; in the original Trial of Courage, the one who took McCarthy Delin's head was the winner.

Even in real reality, Kane had heard McCarthy Delin's name countless times.

The creator of the academy.

The one who awakened the magic net.

The first hermit.

The greatest Elemental Shaper.

His titles are countless, and acquiring any one of them is enough to ensure a place in history, which sufficiently explains Kaisaros' anger and hatred towards McCarthy Delin.

A human whose name was remembered by the Old Gods and has been resented to this day.

Kane thought this should be the greatest honor a human could achieve.

And the world responded to his expectations; he heard the commotion from outside the strategic command center, sourced from the training ground subhumans.

The arrival of an unexpected guest paused the actions of those subhumans who returned to agrarian life at Ethan's suggestion.

The traveler arrived dusty, wearing a gray mage's robe.

Compared to the subhumans' excessively frail bodies, releasing a terrifying magic power, many subhumans retreated several steps in the face of this magic power.

The war with the Elemental Shapers had lasted too long; most of them had witnessed the giant fireball descending from the clouds, the earth torn apart, and the lightning storm changing the weather.
