After a long silence, Anapolis retorted, "Suppose what you say is true, then what?"
"Since it's a hypothesis, let us be more bold. What if Aelium has the same feelings towards you?"
Just now, Ethan viewed the world inside the fish tank from Anapolis' perspective.
He saw the "dust" within growing bit by bit, under Its guidance, constructing a Celestial Kingdom, but there was a crucial element missing here—human protection of Anapolis exists only in their imagination, written in the vague praises of the Holy Scripture of the Tide Church.
In reality, maybe not even the Master of Tides truly knew what Anapolis had specifically done.
Ethan believed that when it came to Aelium, It too was caught in the same predicament.
Those subtle aids during growth were difficult for it to sense directly, possibly a downside of immense power—the blessed and favored creatures rarely had a tangible sense of it, struggling to distinguish it from mere good fortune.
Especially since Anapolis is an enthusiast of construction.
It does not like Its presence appearing inside the fish tank.
Ethan sensed Anapolis' "breath" becoming increasingly rapid, with anxiety intertwined with expectation.
"As far as humans are concerned, we can never fully understand each other, emotional loss in communication is inevitable, but the good news is, I have recently tackled this challenge."
Ethan paused, "Old An, would you like to try the latest psychological therapy?"
......
The tremors in the deep ravine had been still for some time.
The enormous creature residing at the edge of the crevice quieted down, attracted by the suddenly appearing scene in front of it—there, images familiar to it shimmered.
It found itself within the images, albeit in a way completely unfamiliar to it.
The perspective hovered outside the world, looking down upon it, the rapidly changing images evoking long-forgotten memories.
In the battles with other predators, it had sustained severe injuries and weakened due to a lack of food, along with incomprehensible illnesses, its energy waning as time passed and its body grew, it gradually lost desire to move, curled up at the sea bottom, its breathing slow.
That was Its first encounter with death.
All creatures' lives come to an end, no matter how many predators they defeat, even if they conquer the ocean, they will eventually be chased down by time.
Then, it vaguely saw a hand.
The hand brushed away the concept of "time" from its aging body, defying the laws of life and death.
When it was in danger, this hand would always appear.
Furthermore, it sensed certain emotions that did not belong to it.
Starting from curiosity, these emotions evolved into complex, incomprehensible feelings.
It felt an inexpressible disappointment when it, alongside humans, tore at that hand, as they together plunged into darkness, away from the world of light, yet even so, that hand hovering over it never crushed down.
It seemed the whispers had changed.
No longer sharp and piercing, filled instead with complaint and sighs.
When the rapidly changing images vanished, a long lament echoed from the depths of the ocean.
Writhing tentacles explored the deep ravine, stirring the waves, as if trying to attract attention, striving to grasp at something within the void darkness.
Anapolis felt the call of the deep sea, understanding momentarily the meaning of the lament.
The pet is calling for It.
Filled with sorrow inside, it wishes for an embrace and solace.
Opposite Ethan did not speak, he simply waited calmly, giving the choice into Its hands.
It could hold those tentacles, or ignore them, leaving things in the darkness, because theoretically, this was the scene It had hoped to see initially.
The madness brought by whispers did not bring solace, only brief joy.
At this moment, Anapolis understood the true meaning of the "new therapy," feeling like It had misjudged it somewhat, "This is not a power humans can possess."
Within the flashing elements of lightning contained things even It could not comprehend.
This differed from the inheritance method It knew, prompting It to ask, "Then, who chose you?"
"Unknown." Ethan said, "But someday, it will be known."
Immediately, Anapolis heard a second lament coming from afar.
This time, It followed Its true inner voice.
.........
The healing process was much smoother than Ethan had anticipated, aided by Anapolis being reasonable.
Perhaps in a strict sense, It may not fit people's definition of the Evil God at all, more like caught in the crossfire during the "Great Cleansing" due to some notorious same kind.
Nevertheless...
It seems that some minor issues arose in the subsequent healing process.
The result of opening up the heart slightly deviated from the planned outcome; no longer satisfied with "Master," "Divine Spirit," Aelium seemed to regard Anapolis as a mother, the later whispers interpreted as maternal naggings, and as the intermediary, Ethan was overwhelmed by these potent emotions.
Even Anapolis found Itself bewildered by it all.
