Witch, Fireball and the Evil God of Steam

Chapter 188: Island in the Vat_2

Just like Ave to Saint Mary, after several eras, the world gave birth to two people who bore eight to nine similarities in appearance. Before finding the truth, Ethan could only attribute this coincidence to the fascinating theory of genetics.

Ethan quickly understood his current situation.

He was observing everything happening at the port from a divine perspective, focusing his attention on the small toy roads in the fish tank. Among the dust-like minute beings in the eyes of the Divine Spirit, one particle of dust caught his interest.

The handsome seaman had an astonishing plan.

The locals believed the ocean was the boundary drawn by the Divine Spirit for the world, yet this young warrior planned to challenge the sea.

Everything appeared to Ethan like a movie fast-forwarded countless times. In the blink of an eye, planks transformed into a ship, sails rose on the ship, and vague cheers from people could almost be heard.

However, the warrior soon fell into trouble.

The ship couldn't withstand the storm's test; when "he" shook the fish tank with interest, unsurprisingly, the ship was struck and sunk by the wavering waves.

This was the conclusion of humanity's vain attempt to conquer the ocean, but as that particle of dust was about to sink to the seabed, "he" suddenly felt a bit regretful.

Perhaps due to mundane life, "he" decided to give the young warrior a second chance, helping to pass much of "his" boring time. "He" knew that once the warrior's challenge failed again, the dust would return to tranquilly, and stay on the island without ever wishing to leave.

Yet "he" couldn't personally rescue the warrior from the sea.

Doing so might directly crush the warrior's body, or cause his spirit to collapse. Suddenly, "he" thought of a brilliant idea, letting a little animal, nurtured under "his" observation, carry the warrior back to shore. Not long ago, "he" witnessed this little animal grow from a speck of dust to the size of a fingernail.

The first voyage failed, yet the warrior survived.

Unshadowed by failure, upon recovering, he immediately drew lessons from defeat and built a second ship.

Meanwhile, another unexpected event occurred.

The dust on the island heard about the warrior's plight, leading to the birth of the "Tide Church". They believed the events were not mere coincidence; the warrior's survival was undoubtedly under the Divine Spirit's protection. The sea beast that brought the warrior back to the island was regarded as a pet nurtured by the Divine Spirit.

This greatly surprised "him".

Those dust particles, unable to directly see "him", faintly perceived what was happening to them.

This also made "him" more attentive to changes within the fish tank, even acting more boldly to satisfy his curiosity.

The islanders were astonished to discover that when an entire generation aged, the warrior remained youthful and continued preparing for the next journey. With each return from adversity, the warrior experienced transformative growth, creating items that defied conventional explanation.

This undeniably signified one thing.

The warrior truly received the blessing of the Divine Spirit, making him an exceptional being, and the pioneer in conquering the ocean.

When the warrior, steering the vessel of his own making, conquered the ocean, he met many people like him, those who couldn't build ships yet possessed other extraordinary talents. They were recognized as the Divine's chosen children.

As the ocean's isolation was broken, people entered a new era, yet the new epoch did not progress toward prosperity.

Because…

Some observers, like "him", grew aesthetically fatigued. They could no longer derive pleasure from creation and change and didn't wish to watch these dust particles drift aimlessly. From them, the dust received much and was meant to abide by their will.

They hoped the dust equipped with swords and weapons would slaughter each other, thus making the scene appear far more majestic; others found that when the "lamp" above the dust's head was shut off, the dust's anxious and uneasy state became quite interesting, but soon, they became unsatisfied with merely turning off lamps, instead creating environments more interesting and terrifying to the dust than a mere blackout; among them, some became interested in the dust itself, always eager to transform the dust into something else.

Such "pastime games" continued for a long period.

Yet "he" was different from those others, an anomaly among them.

"He" enjoyed witnessing those dust particles use their accumulated possessions for construction, creating things far grander than themselves, "he" liked watching these dust particles scurry about aboard these magnificent creations.

However, outside the fish tank was no longer safe, so "he" summoned the warrior back into the fish tank.

Since it was no longer safe outside, let them remain on the island and build houses.

"House" was a concept proposed by the dust particles that amused "him" immensely.

The fish tank entered a long period of peace. To prevent others from bringing vile amusements to "his" domain, many disputes occurred, and relationships soured.

But witnessing the growing richness inside the fish tank, "he" gained immense satisfaction.
