Whoosh——
Apart from witchcraft traps, there were no physical traps like poison arrows or strong acid, but a powerful Spiritual Wind swept out from the bronze box.
The lifelike green Spiritual Light, the vividly red Spiritual Light, and the warm, thick yellow Spiritual Light spread out rapidly, filling the entire stone cavern.
In Aiven's eyes, the stone walls, the roof of the cave, and even the ground beneath his feet were slowly disappearing, replaced by endless dark clouds and a roaring sea.
"What is this...?"
Rumble——!
A thunderclap, as if splitting the sky and earth open, exploded in his ears.
Even though the sensation under his feet told Aiven that he hadn't actually left the cavern, he dared not move from his spot.
Because, from his elevated perspective, all around him was a raging storm, towering waves; the storm the "Conch" once faced seemed like child's play in comparison.
Innocent and harmless!
However, amidst what seemed like an apocalyptic flood, there were people advancing towards the more violent open sea against the storm, and...not just one person.
It appeared as if there was a danger a hundred times more terrifying than the natural disaster approaching them from behind.
But those "people" on the move, their immense power, resembled more monsters than humans!
Bent over and a thousand meters tall, the Rock Giant was like a mountain, the forest seemed his clothing, his back lush with green trees and vines. His entire body was entwined with black vines, cold and hard like armor, while the sea water could barely submerge his legs.
The enormous sea serpent swimming on the water's surface, its triangular head adorned with brilliant patterns, unmistakably marking it as a venomous serpent. Its tail movements could stir up waves towering to the sky.
Someone was soaring in the sky, embracing the storm, their swirling black robes merging with the dark clouds, appearing as the master of the sky and thunderbolt!
Of course, there was also someone honestly sailing in a small single-masted boat, but any wind or wave approaching his side would calm instantly, as if even the ruthless nature instinctively feared him.
Witnessing it all, Aiven understood, this was a group of wizards, a group of wizards fleeing hastily.
Though wielding unimaginable power, in this moment, they seemed like utter weaklings.
Suddenly, a warning came from the sky.
"Not good! They've caught up!"
The black-robed wizard in the storm shouted with a thunderous roar. Despite its imposing power, the panic within was irrepressible.
In reality, there was no need for his reminder, everyone was already employing various means to accelerate.
However, the pursuers' speed was evidently faster than they had anticipated.
Clop clop clop... Clop clop clop...
In the illusory sound of hooves.
Brushing through the thick dark clouds at high altitude, five rays of white light trod upon the air and came forward.
From spotting them to arriving in front of the wizards took only ten minutes.
Pure white wings, bright silver armor, crystal-like horns, these were five Flying Horses with broad wings and the five knights clad in silver armor on their backs!
"I am Japher, a knight of God, of the Elemental School, Curse School, Snake Witch, Life Tree School... you evil wizards, surrender now! There are still places reserved for you in the Holy Prison!"
The leading knight, holding a silver longsword, spoke his name casually, his expression stern and his demeanor arrogant, as if the victory was assured before the battle even began.
"Dawn Church's Silver Knights, you dogs of the divine! We've clearly already left the continent, why won't you let us go!" lamented the nerve-eyed, white-haired, scantily-clad witch atop the giant serpent.
The leading Knight Captain among the pursuers was merely a Peak Grand Knight. Though their own strength couldn't plunge one's side into despair, the relentless pursuers, fearless and endless for the sake of the divine, were enough to strike fear into any "fugitive."
And as long as the gods exist, this hunt will never cease, driven by the church, unless a new divine decree is issued. This... is what truly makes them despair!
The Silver Knight's only response to her was a single word:
"Kill——!"
No more nonsense was exchanged as the five Silver Knights on their Flying Horses, led by the Knight Captain Japher, launched a fearless charge at the wizards.
Aiven stood in the air, bearing witness to this "heretical pursuit, launched in the name of faith, with divine grace as the spear."
Of course, the wizards couldn't simply sit and wait for death.
They had banded together to break through the church's blockade and leave the continent to avoid being picked off by the knight groups. Even a cornered rabbit will bite, let alone a group of wizards wielding tremendous power?
Hiss!
The Tier 3 Snake Witch beneath the giant serpent raised its head and spewed forth a torrent of black venom, not, it might be more fitting to call it a black waterfall.
A venom waterfall shooting up against the trend!
The stench of the venom, which rain and wind couldn't dilute, began to yellow and dehydrate the knights' fur before it even reached them, illustrating its intense toxicity.
However.
The well-trained Silver Knights didn't even try to dodge. Japher raised the silver Holy Sword in his hand and slowly recited the Holy Words:
"The night shall eventually pass, and I shall command the dawn!"
Clang—
In the crisp sound of the sword, it seemed like a dawn shone from the Holy Sword, and without needing to swing the sword, the foul venom dispersed on its own, clearing a path for the charging knights.
Crack—
However, the knights' adversaries were not just one; the attack from the Sky Elemental Wizard had already arrived, a blazing white lightning carrying endless energy, like a divine spear, piercing the charging formation of the knights.
The fury of the sky seemed about to turn these armor-clad knights into charcoal in an instant.
"Slash!"
With a loud shout, Japher's Holy Sword traced a "z" shaped light mark, reversing to cut through the lightning, and with a flash of brilliance, the black-robed Elemental Wizard in the sky dropped straight down like a stone.
However, the Knight Captain could no longer care about the Wizard's life or death, because the next attack was already coming.
Boom!!!
The Rock Giant swung its mountain-like fist with the force of a landslide, enveloped in endless wind and rain, delivering a fierce blow that had been building up.
"Scatter!"
Facing this unembellished, violent strike, the knights could no longer rely solely on the God-empowered Holy Sword in their hands for defense, and finally scattered to evade.
A massive melee ensued!
From a God's-eye view, Aiven saw:
The Knight Captain, riding his Flying Horse, charged towards the Tier 3 Snake Witch, who was clearly the temporary leader among the Wizards. The brilliant Holy Sword fell like a scorching sun, evaporating a large swath of seawater.
On a small boat, a hooded Wizard, whose face was completely hidden, bit his finger, and black blood transformed into writhing worms as they flew through the air, or perhaps a malevolent symbol shooting out.
[Curse Technique: Death God's Mark!]
A powerful Silver Knight in the sky was hit directly, instantly collapsing weakly onto the back of his Flying Horse. Even with divine protection, this mighty knight in an extremely short time became a feeble ghost who might fatigue himself to death by simply taking deep breaths!
The defeat of a comrade incited the fury of two other Silver Knights, and two silver spears carrying the blazing anger and determination to kill of the Silver Knights shot out like two white meteors directly at the Wizard from the Curse School.
In a flash.
The small boat was easily torn apart, and the Official Wizard from the Curse School was not spared either. But when the light faded, what reappeared in the knights' sight was... a vengeful evil ghost, terrifying and grim with an iron wire emerging from the pores of its leather-capped head.
Even though it was merely an illusion, Aiven felt as if his skull had been forcibly opened, desperately filled with foul-smelling sludge...
[Curse Technique: Nail Curse!]
Letting out a malevolent roar not of this world, the vengeful evil ghost from the sea turned into a black shadow charging towards the two Silver Knights.
One side sought survival, the other held firm belief; a group of extraordinary powerful entities fought and fled, gradually nearing the outer sea.
The pursuit was fought till the sky darkened and the earth dimmed, the battle locked in a stalemate, and even though neither side held absolute advantage, no one wanted to give up! No one could afford to give up!
Both sides' powers far exceeded Aiven's imagination.
Especially Japher, the Silver Knight Commander, who stood out the most, relying on the divine-empowered Holy Sword to single-handedly battle the Snake Witch and the terrifying Rock Giant, even sometimes gaining the upper hand.
The battle had been going on for a long time, everyone had resorted to their final means.
Suddenly.
Brilliant Holy Light filled the heavens and the earth.
Aiven saw a divine sword light, like a long rainbow, crashing down from the sky, its target being the Rock Giant charging toward the deep sea!
In an instant, white light filled Aiven's vision, a bone-chilling killing intent seemed to transcend space-time and spread over. Making Aiven involuntarily move his steps to dodge this earth-shattering sword!
Plop—
When his vision restored, he found himself back in the cave again, or rather, the cave had returned to its original state.
Whew—
Only now did the breath held from the beginning of the battle get exhaled, he wiped the cold sweat off his forehead, almost thinking he was going to be slain by that inescapable sword.
"Huh, sword mark?"
The straight canyon that cut through half the island before entering the ruins reappeared in Aiven's mind...
Cautiously stamping his foot, he muttered to himself:
"Is this island actually... a Rock Giant?!"
