The sudden explosion directly stunned Albertson from the Special Operations Department, even though he was over ten kilometers away.
Where are the promised individual mercenaries?
Do your mercenaries have such organization, and have even prepared mortars in advance?
This is outright a large-scale mercenary organization!
Not just Albertson, but everyone watching Channel 54 in Night City, including the host, was left speechless.
This is madness...
Truly madness...
In decades, the only ones daring to challenge Huang Ban in the city have been military tech companies.
Are mortars that rare?
The Corporation has tens of pages of gear more powerful than this, and even mercenaries can scrounge up some heavy firepower outside Night City.
But who would dare use such things against Huang Ban's forces in the city?
Usually, the little skirmishes are ignored, but did they really think Huang Ban was just a soft target to be poked?
The frontline Huang Ban commander was still yelling into the intercom.
"All units report losses, drone squads search the artillery positions based on the recent flight paths, you have three minutes to take them down!"
"Three from Squad One dead, armored vehicle engine damaged!"
"Squad Two's armored vehicle directly hit, all five crew members dead!"
"Two injured in Squad Three, combat capability unaffected."
This round of massive bombardment didn't inflict much damage on Huang Ban's forces; the high level of cyber enhancements greatly raising human resilience, but what was truly damaged was Huang Ban Corporation's prestige in Night City.
Albertson slammed the table hard.
"Send more troops, lift the firepower restrictions, today we must kill all these damn pests."
"And the owner of their company, I want his head by dawn!"
Who would have thought that tonight's entire incident was caused just because Brother Ni was bored and wanted to seek out traces of a cult?
This blaze ignited the fuse, and no one could sleep peacefully tonight.
Under the technicians' control, Huang Ban's drone squad swarmed toward the artillery position, but when they arrived, only an empty field remained.
After firing the mortars, the players didn't hesitate to dismantle them, carrying the parts and slipping away through the sewers.
The 100 or 200 kilograms of weight is SO EASY for cyborgs.
However, the drone's scanning device could still infer the players' direction from their tracks.
"Into the sewers? Really like rats..."
The Huang Ban captain, issued a death order by Albertson, said angrily.
"Deploy special forces to pursue them, even if we have to turn the entire Watson District upside down, we must catch this group and kill them!"
Orders were passed down layer by layer, refined piece by piece, and Huang Ban's grassroots troops, like ordered worker ants, began to act separately.
Peering through the gap at the Sword Saint by the window was just too delightful.
"Haha, blast you little neon pests."
Then he pulled out an RPG and aimed downstairs.
If only he had a Little Boy, he'd show Huang Ban what hereditary suppression means.
The trigger was pulled, the RPG's rear exploded with flames, and the rocket whooshed out; but Huang Ban's troops, once bombed by mortars, raised their vigilance to the limit, proving difficult to deal with.
A figure suddenly leaped into the air, a flash quickly followed, and the rocket was split into two halves mid-air, helplessly falling to the ground.
The Sword Saint's expression of delight instantly froze on his face.
"??? "

No more acting here.
The one who cut down the rocket was none other than the Model-D Power Armor, renowned in the market.
Players have seen this exoskeleton power armor from afar at places like the Huang Ban Industrial Park and Ganbi Mansion.
It's safe to say this unit is a nightmare in Night City's mercenary circles. Some mercenary squads ambitiously targeting Huang Ban convoys encounter a Model-D by bad luck, and face total annihilation; the battle scenes are tragically brutal.
Even though it's considered lightweight among power armors, weighing just under 800 KG, in Night City, it's basically synonymous with a mini-boss.
After slicing the rocket, the Model-D immediately lifted its head toward Sword Saint's hiding spot.
"Damn!"
Knowing he was discovered, Sword Saint immediately dragged the still unconscious Arnold, running toward the stairwell, loudly shouting in the channel.
"This is Sword Saint, Tamara's, a power armor is targeting me!"
An expert lurking in an entirely dark residential building quietly asked.
"Report position."
"A junction a street away from you, roughly 200 meters, I'm on the twelfth floor."
Sword Saint angrily retorted.
"Tamara, don't you know how to look at the mini-map when playing?"
The entire 3D terrain map of Night City has long been uploaded to the system. While you obviously can't scan every house, building outlines, streets, and alleys would surely be correct. Heck, the mini-map data might be more detailed than the city council's.
Plus, players could see each other's names and shadows through walls.
"Tsk..."
The expert sarcastically replied.
"Pull your monster, MT, I can't see the boss now, lead it into the sniper team's field of vision."
Since having suffered a loss against Trauma Team's power armor, the expert and other players have been pondering how to take down these high-mobility, high-defense tin cans.
RPGs and mortars definitely won't work; they're not fools to stand still for you to shoot.
So I'll have to use a large caliber anti-material rifle.
"Damn! MTs need welfare too; at least get me a healer!"
