Extreme Cold Era: Shelter Don't Keep Waste

Chapter 387: Elixir of Immortality

It's rare to see two top-tier Alchemists join forces in this world.

After all, top-tier Alchemists like Perfikot and Weir, who could lead an era, are exceedingly rare; so rare that an entire era might not see even one.

If not for a curse a hundred years ago that regressed Weir's age back to a young girl, she wouldn't have been able to survive these hundred years.

The Extraordinary individuals of this world are somewhat different from those in high-magic worlds. While their lifespan is indeed extended by becoming Extraordinary, living to a hundred-something years is the limit, and no one is known to live past two hundred.

Weir, despite being the most top-tier Alchemist of her era a hundred years ago, was not a cheat player like Perfikot; it took her half a lifetime to reach the Legendary realm.

So accounting for nearly a hundred years after suffering the backlash, if Weir hadn't encountered any accidents, even if she weren't buried yet, she'd be nearing the end of her life.

At least from Weir's perspective, the other two old fellows who survived the backlash like her back then are now basically like flickering candles in the wind, with not many days left to live.

In fact, her condition is not much better. Although her body regressing to a juvenile state prevents her from reaching the end of life due to physical aging and wear, the soul damage she suffered continues to torment and trouble her.

If it weren't for having some methods to repair soul damage, Weir would have died decades ago because of severe soul damage.

Surviving this long can only be attributed to her having some means to sustain herself in her lingering existence.

Now, Perfikot, an Alchemist she views as neither inferior in talent nor ability, is willing to help solve her curse, even bringing out the miraculous Philosopher's Stone, which gives Weir a sliver of hope for lifting the curse.

Even if it can't, the Philosopher's Stone should greatly improve her physical condition.

That's what Weir thinks, and what she hopes for.

And the direction things are heading hasn't disappointed her expectations.

"It seems your problem is much more severe than I imagined. Even using the Philosopher's Stone to create an Elixir of Immortality to repair your body and soul makes it hard to achieve a full recovery," Perfikot said, slightly disappointed as she observed the changes in Weir's body after drinking a bottle of Elixir of Immortality.

But Weir herself was quite satisfied with the current state. She placed the potion bottle down and smiled at Perfikot, saying, "I've been tormented by Divine power backlash for nearly a hundred years! If it could be resolved easily, I wouldn't have gone nearly a hundred years without any improvement.

Moreover, while the Elixir of Immortality can't fully heal my body, it can significantly repair the damage to my soul and improve my physical condition. If there are no accidents, this one bottle will grant me an additional ten years of endurance!

For someone who might die at any moment, this is already a significant improvement—at least for the first time in many years, I feel this relaxed."

The smile on Weir's face was undisguisable, after all, the Elixir of Immortality made with the Philosopher's Stone was genuinely effective.

Although the effect wasn't as great as expected, it was still an acceptable result, even better than Weir internally anticipated.

At least for Weir, the Elixir of Immortality does improve her condition; as long as she continues to take it, the curse won't pose a threat as long as the Elixir remains effective.

Additionally, if Perfikot is willing to provide her with more Elixir of Immortality, her strength and physical state could gradually recover to her former Legendary level.

If she can restore her strength, the curse caused by Divine power backlash might not be impossible to resolve for Weir.

She hasn't seen any improvement over nearly a hundred years because one major issue is that after reverting to a juvenile state, her strength was severely impacted, and many of her methods couldn't be executed, naturally leaving her unable to tackle her own issues.

But now? Weir feels that even if she can't solve the problem herself, she can rely on the help of Elixir of Immortality to endure until Perfikot crosses that threshold and possesses the strength to assist her.

Moreover, she could collaborate with Perfikot, combining their forces to solve her issue.

In Weir's view, she or Perfikot both have issues they can't resolve by themselves, but when they join forces, any problem that can be solved through alchemy is no longer a problem for them.

It's the confidence of top-tier Alchemists and mutual recognition of each other's abilities.

Perfikot, although not as confident as Weir, didn't find Weir's situation that challenging to solve.

After all, she has the Divine Artifact Jade Record, and if necessary, she can sacrifice an opportunity to acquire new technology to use the techniques provided by the Jade Record to solve the problem.

Moreover, the seventh page of the Jade Record grants the power of omniscience; once she opens this page and obtains omniscience, what in this world could ever challenge her?

Now the only question is how long it will take her to open the seventh page.

In this aspect, time is indeed uncertain because even Perfikot herself doesn't know how long it will take to digest a technology.

Just like now, she's stuck on the fourth page, unable to open the new fifth page.

Of course, this is also because most of Perfikot's energy and time has been spent on handling various matters in the Northern Territory recently.

If she truly focuses all her time and energy on the application of new technology, Perfikot believes she only needs a year to open the sixth page, possibly even the seventh page.

Logically, possessing Imaginary Alchemy and the Philosopher's Stone, opening the fourth page should be a simple matter for Perfikot, as she just needs to create some results that apply Imaginary Alchemy technology.

Now that Perfikot has advanced Imaginary Alchemy to a point where it doesn't require the Philosopher's Stone and has disseminated this technology, various outcomes have emerged like mushrooms after the rain.

Among them, while there are few results that can truly shine, there are indeed some filled with creativity and promising prospects.

But for Perfikot, she can only use results from her own research to open new Jade Record pages, and not rely on others' achievements.

However, facing Weir's condition and the current issues in the Northern Territory, Perfikot considers perhaps she could think about opening the fourth page first, seeing what abilities are there, and considering what new technologies it requires.
