North American Detective: I am Proficient in All Kinds of Gun Quick Draws

Chapter 186: This Woman is Quite Ruthless End_3

Portolia let out a scorching breath. Her hand, holding the blade, gave a quick flick to shake off the clinging blood before she sheathed her Tachi and, without looking back, walked towards another car.

She actually didn't have any concrete evidence that the people arranged to meet her were off, but she felt their gazes on her were too presumptuous. Only those who no longer feared her would have such an attitude. And so, they died. Better to kill mistakenly than to let someone go unpunished. Portolia never let fate choose for her. She always chose her own destiny. Even if it was the wrong path.

「...」

She pulled open the door of the pickup truck.

What met Portolia's eyes was a body bag and a bundle of nylon rope.

She pressed her lips together tightly.

Very good.

It seemed their so-called plan to send her out to sea was actually to send her to a permanent slumber at the bottom of the ocean.

How disappointing.

Portolia shook her head with a hint of regret, got into the car, started the engine, and prepared to head into the city.

Since she was all set to leave anyway...

She might as well kill that pretty boy Dean along the way.

The things she couldn't have and was about to lose—only by destroying them with her own hands could she feel at ease!

Seducing him before killing him sounded quite nice.

It was quite fitting, having personally sent off her former lover's son.

If she could obtain Mr. Dean's seed, that would indeed be a beautiful thing.

Portolia fantasized about her future life.

The next moment, a faint BUZZ sounded.

She clutched her neck, looking in shock at the greenery outside the window. She saw a man wearing a white mask wave at her before walking away slowly, hands in his pockets...

There was... someone else!

Dizziness flooded her head.

Portolia gritted her teeth and forcefully pulled the short needle from her neck.

She slumped back in the driver's seat, allowing the blood from her neck to rapidly congeal and darken. In her fading consciousness, a familiar back flashed before her eyes, and a look of sudden realization dawned.

Dean!

The masked man who kept interfering with her plans was Dean...

「...」

After a while, Dean returned.

He approached the car and looked at Portolia. Her eyes were wide open in death, as if she couldn't rest in peace. A strange feeling stirred in his heart.

To be honest, he had always suspected Portolia wasn't as simple as she appeared. He never imagined this mature widow could be so fierce, cutting down people as if she were mowing grass.

A few fully armed men—all sprawled on the ground in less than two seconds.

It had to be said, some things that have survived since the rise of firearms and endured to this day, did so for good reason.

Taking advantage of the fact that no one had yet noticed the situation, Dean opened the car door and began searching Portolia's body.

He ripped open her clothing. He was disappointed to find that, aside from a Tachi, some loose cash, and a forged ID, the only other thing Portolia carried of value was a small bag on her back.

"Hopefully, there's something in here about the Lucifer Game Organization," Dean thought with a flicker of anticipation as he opened the bag.

What met his eyes, however, was a 'blood-stained leather ball' the size of an adult's palm, its eyes closed.

He estimated this 'leather ball' was from a child only about one or two years old and of mixed heritage. It had likely been severed from the body by a sharp blade while the child was asleep, leaving this world without ever waking.

Dean felt numb with shock.

As far as he knew, Portolia's son was about that age.

Indeed, fleeing with a child would be difficult.

But for Portolia to kill her own son...

What a ruthless woman.

Dean shook his head, disappointed at having found nothing, and disappeared into the pre-dawn darkness.

Now, he could only count on An Bei to find out why the Lucifer Game Organization was interested in him.

It had been a long night. Time to head back to the hotel and sleep.
