"Move aside!" The [Hunter] piloted by Torick forcibly pushed away a [Heaven's Punishment] blocking its path. Beside him, warriors from the Sharp Blade Camp similarly shoved the Feiyang Mechas aside.
The Special Reconnaissance Battalion warriors, who had followed Tian Xingjian through life and death in Miloke, now had bloodshot eyes. Two hundred [Hunters] exuded a deadly aura, poised to strike without hesitation at any disagreement.
Whoever tried to stop the Sharp Blade Camp from rescuing their division commander would first face their Anger. These bastards never cared about friend or foe, as Fatty usually taught, "If we can't agree, just strike! Who has time to dawdle?"
Of course, if they couldn't win, running was also part of the teaching.
The Feiyang Mechas being pushed away didn't show any anger, almost running aside to clear the path. From the moment they received the order, they felt something was amiss. Throwing six armored divisions into Mezrich as cannon fodder was one thing, but now stopping people from rescuing their officer was a dirty job only an idiot would take!
Now that their subordinates have arrived, to prevent conflict, wouldn't it be better for them to just step aside? At worst, it would be considered a failure to carry out the mission. Surely, no one would threaten them over this!
The Sharp Blade Camp charged nearly unhindered to the hotel entrance. When Douglas approached, Leray's little Major Torick smirked at the Feiyang Major General, saying, "Are you trying to make me step over you?" His sinister voice carried a sharp aggression, as if confronting a sworn enemy rather than an ally with a much higher rank.
The Gazalin Soldiers nearby, already filled with extreme dissatisfaction towards the actions of the Feiyang people, all turned their heads away. They understood that these Leray people would truly do anything for their division commander.
If the Feiyang Major General dared to utter even half a "yes," that Mecha's foot would crush him mercilessly in the next moment. Not only would that Leray Major step, but over two hundred Mechas behind him would unhesitatingly follow.
Gazalin Soldiers did not want to point fingers at Fatty's subordinates when accounting for responsibilities later. In fact, what the Leray people wanted to do was precisely what they wished to do. Many of Gazalin's future new regime leaders standing here were from the lower class!
Moreover, to many Freedom Front warriors, that Fatty was also their leader, their idol.
"I'll go in with you," Douglas's words surprised everyone. He took an automatic assault rifle from a nearby guard, smiled slightly and said, "In my personal capacity."
"Good!" Torick piloted the Mecha swiftly into the hotel lobby: "Once we've rescued our division commander, I'll apologize to you! If anything happens to him, we'll settle it!"
Douglas forced a bitter smile, turned and prepared to move. Suddenly, a gust blew by, several dozen Gazalin Soldiers and a few Feiyang warriors were already howling and following the Leray Mechas inside.
***************
The hover elevator quietly ascended. Inside, three Howard Family Warriors silently watched the changing numbers on the display, expressionless, still stained with the blood of hotel security.
The narrow space felt oppressive, with the scent of blood in the air.
They originally thought assassinating an unsuspecting Fatty with more than thirty elite Family Warriors would only require each person to carry a concealed energy pistol and a few minutes. No one expected a series of events would escalate the situation to this point.
In the communicator, Ritter was still furiously urging reinforcements.
The three warriors frowned; they didn't understand why the eight people who went up before them hadn't taken down those two Leray Soldiers wielding [Clement] and sweeping all the way. Even though they wielded [Ivanov] with limited firepower, hitting a vital spot could be deadly!
"Ding!" The hover elevator slowed and stopped. The three Family Warriors tightened their grips on their guns, aiming at the elevator doors.
The elevator doors opened, revealing an empty hallway. From the other end of the corridor at Area A, dense gunfire could be heard.
Relaxed, the three lowered their gun barrels slightly, stepped out of the elevator, and walked towards the opposite corridor.
The hallway was a mess, with every room door open, and various luggage, shoes, and hats scattered haphazardly on the carpet, likely left behind by panicked guests fleeing.
Initially, each time they passed an open room door, the three warriors followed tactical requirements for advancing. Typically, the first person would gradually compress the safe angle inside the room door; when reaching a certain angle, the second person would pop out to seal the door, then the third person would quickly pass through, followed by the first person compressing the safe angle, and finally, the person sealing the door would face backward and move in reverse.
As Area A's stairwell drew nearer, the gunfire and Ritter's furious shouting grew louder, causing the warriors to slacken their guard during their door-clearing maneuvers. After all, the entire hotel was nominally under their control, and two teams of comrades had already passed through these areas before them. So close to Area A, if there were enemies, Ritter's team would have noticed.
The three warriors accelerated, nearly jogging towards the stairway. The closer they got to Area A, the more their focus was drawn to the intense gunfire in the stairwell.
