(Raven's POV)
"We're starting at the freshmen."
Lana said to me.
"Oh, I can handle that."
And I replied casually.
By the way, we're talking about announcing the incoming field trip next week to the students.
And part of our job is to make the students willingly join the field trip.
"What do you mean? Are you saying you can convince every freshman by yourself?"
Lana then asked me after hearing my words.
And instead of answering her, I just shrugged my shoulders, acting like it wasn't even worth explaining.
Then I stood up and cleaned myself using magic, letting the sweat and dirt vanish instantly.
Lana is still looking at me with questioning eyes, clearly wanting an explanation...
"I know someone who can do the job for us."
So I told her my plan in a calm tone.
"What?"
She seems to be confused by my words, her brows furrowing slightly.
But I couldn't care less about her confusion.
"Just follow me."
I said to Lana with no hesitation...
Tap- Tap- Tap-
Then I started walking toward the training ground's door, my steps echoing faintly in the quiet space.
"..."
Lana just watched me walk away for a couple of seconds, her eyes narrowing a little as if trying to figure me out...
Tap- Tap- Tap-
But in the end, she really had no choice but to follow me.
'The quicker we convince the students to join, the more time I'll have to train and focus on what really matters.'
I thought as I walked with steady steps.
My destination is the freshmen's building, or to be specific, [CLASS A-1]'s classroom.
...
*****
As Lana is following me from behind...
"..."
She noticed that I'm back to normal.
To the version of Raven who has very little care about what's going on around him.
"Seems like you're back to normal, good for you."
Lana said casually.
She's just being polite, not really putting emotions into her words.
"Thanks, and sorry for the trouble I caused you."
I then replied without even looking back or stopping in my track.
"It's nothing, I know you don't mean everything you said while under the drug's side effects."
Just when Lana said that...
Did I slow down my pace a little bit.
I then looked behind me, or to be specific, I looked at Lana straight in the eyes.
She can see me frowning really bad.
'What's wrong with him?'
Lana probably asked herself that inside her head, seeing her expression.
Meanwhile, I'm just annoyed.
I'm annoyed at what she just said.
I clearly remembered everything I said to her, every compliment, every word that left my mouth.
And those compliments, they were genuine...
And right now, Lana is thinking I was joking or not being serious when I said that.
Which made me feel frustrated.
I remembered the description I once wrote about her in the past...
'She's beautiful, intelligent, strong, and hardworking...'
'But she's underestimating herself again.'
'She doesn't think highly of herself… and she always convinces herself that Lillen is way better than her.'
"You're always humbling yourself, it's frustrating."
I mumbled while looking at Lana.
"What?"
And of course, Lana was confused as to why I said that.
But I wasn't in the mood to explain things, and even if I was, I had no intention of telling her anything anyway.
So I just looked back in front of me again and started walking a little bit faster...
...
...
In the novel, Lana fell in love with the protagonist, Alec.
But as I wrote in my novel, Alec has a crush on Lillen.
And later in the story, Lillen would slowly develop the same feelings for Alec.
Lana would eventually become aware of this, and because of her admiration for Lillen...
She would decide to hide her feelings for Alec.
'I wouldn't win against her after all.'
This is what she thought to herself as she buried her emotions deep inside.
And so later, Alec and Lillen became a couple.
Lana was unable to even confess her feelings.
While the two became a happy couple, Lana was left behind, silently supporting their relationship.
Acting like everything was normal, even though Lana felt like shit every single time she saw them together...
...
"...Fuck."
I mumbled as those events in my novel came back into my mind like a wave.
Tap-
I then stopped walking.
"Hm?"
And Lana did the same, looking at me with curiosity.
I turned to her.
Then with a frown on my face—
"Everything that I said to you yesterday, and the day before..."
"I was serious with them."
I declared that.
"Wha–"
Lana was about to say something, her eyes widening slightly...
Tap- Tap- Tap-
But I, annoyed, immediately turned my back on her and started walking again, not giving her the chance.
"You think too low of yourself, it's annoying from the perspective of someone who can see your worth."
I grumbled as I walked away.
"..."
Leaving Lana alone and speechless.
She doesn't know what to do, and she doesn't quite understand what just happened.
Though, my last words were stuck in her head, replaying over and over.
Lana remained motionless for a while...
Tap- Tap- Tap-
Then she started following me after.
She caught up to me quietly.
"..."
But Lana couldn't find a word to say to me.
"..."
And I was the same, staying silent.
(Raven is very tired after training for hours non-stop, and when he's super tired, he get moody and easily annoyed.)
(And to add more weight, he's also stressing over finding a way to surpass his rank limit.)
*****
Anyway, not long after...
Lana and Raven reached [CLASS A-1]'s classroom.
They didn't talk on the way here after Raven snapped a little earlier. The air between them was a bit heavy as well.
"..."
But Raven had calmed down now and was once again wearing his usual calm expression.
So, moving on—
Shiii–
Tap-
Upon opening the classroom's door and entering...
The two noticed that there was no professor inside, just students lounging around.
"..."
"..."
Everyone in the room went silent as they looked at Raven the moment he stepped inside.
It even took them a while to notice Lana, that's just how overwhelming Raven's presence was to them!
'This classroom is weird...'
Lana thought as she looked around carefully.
Then she glanced at Raven.
He was giving off a very dominating aura, the type that couldn't be ignored.
'He's the weirdest one here, so he's the leader.'
Lana thought to herself.
Anyway...
"..."
Raven was looking around the classroom slowly.
He noticed that Alec and the others weren't in the room.
'They're probably training. Good.'
He concluded without hesitation.
Then Raven started searching for someone specific.
And after seeing the person he was searching for...
"You."
Raven called for them directly!
"Huh...? Me...?"
"Yes, you."
Raven replied simply, then he pointed in front of him...
"Come here."
He commanded that.
"O-Okay!"
The person he was talking to immediately stood up, looking nervous.
They approached Raven without delay.
'What the...'
Lana was confused at what she was seeing, but this was actually a normal sight for [CLASS A-1], so no one else said a word about it.
Anyway, upon arriving in front of Raven...
The person bowed their head, avoiding Raven's eyes. (For several reasons.)
Not that Raven minded...
"I have a job for you."
He just said that to the person in front of him.
Then Raven leaned a little closer near their ears...
"And if you do it... I'll let you keep doing that fan club thing."
And whispered that to them!
The person Raven was talking to... is none other than Jeanna Avyl!
The founder of [Black Feathers], or in other words, Raven's fan club!
"..."
At his words— Jeanna became nervous instantly.
'He knows.'
She thought, her body slightly stiffening.
"What do I need to do?"
Jeanna asked, finally gathering the courage to look at Raven's face.
Though it didn't last long, she blushed so hard after seeing him up close, so she quickly bowed her head once again.
"This is what you need to do."
Raven mumbled clearly.
Then he faced where the students were sitting.
Lana and Jeanna both followed his gaze.
And upon noticing Raven looking in their direction...
The whole class straightened up immediately and focused on him unconsciously!
"There's gonna be a field trip next week, Wednesday, it'll be for five days."
Raven declared to them.
And immediately after that—
"You guys should join."
He followed, his voice calm yet absolute.
""OKAY!""
Every single person in the class replied in unison.
"...This is creepy."
Lana mumbled quietly after witnessing that kind of response.
Raven heard her, and honestly, he agreed with her words. It was indeed creepy that everyone in his class was this obedient to him.
But it was also convenient...
So Raven just ignored Lana's remark.
Instead, he looked back at Jeanna, who was in awe after seeing Raven command everyone in the classroom without effort.
And opening his mouth—
"That's what you should do, convince every freshman to join the incoming field trip."
Raven said that to her directly.
"You up to it?"
He asked Jeanna.
Then with a smile full of confidence—
"It'll be easy."
Jeanna answered.
"Good."
Raven said simply.
Then he turned his back to her and was about to leave the classroom...
"After this, we can openly run the [Black Feathers], right?"
But he suddenly heard Jeanna's voice behind him, hesitant but hopeful.
Raven looked at her again, and he could see her being nervous yet expectant.
Then with a smirk tugging at his lips—
"Sure, do whatever you want."
Shiii–
Shooo–
Raven replied and left without looking back.
