The Dungeon Hall was still packed with students discussing the Goblin Extermination quest.
Ezekiel noticed several more individuals, including Sylas and another student, staring at him as he headed toward the dungeon.
He realised that the information about him being the one to complete the quest was slowly spreading.
Still, he kept his head low and entered the dungeon.
He went deep into the dungeon before summoning Felix.
They searched for the most isolated cave to use as their base.
They discovered a cave within a high rocky hill.
They quickly entered the cave.
Ezekiel used a disposable magic item to seal off the distance.
Instantly, the cave's entrance transformed into a rocky hill, perfectly blending with the surrounding terrain.
But from within, the outside was still visible as though nothing was there. Sunlight still penetrated deep inside the cave.
It was a barrier disguised as an illusion.
Ezekiel walked into the cave, found a comfortable spot to sit.
He brought out all the boxes from his storage bag.
The boxes appeared before him, neatly stacked and arranged as they were.
Ezekiel took the nearest box, removed the seal, and opened it.
Within the box was a note laid atop a pile of neatly arranged crystal vials, glowing blue.
It read: Azure Sap Ore!
Ezekiel had already seen the pictures and descriptions when he purchased them, so he could easily recognise them with a glance.
"This is what I arranged for you," Ezekiel said. "What do you think?"
A surge of excitement flowed through his bond with Felix as the beast gazed at the vials in the box.
Ezekiel took out a vial and unscrewed its cap.
Suddenly, it was as though a fresh wind had emerged from the vial and flowed across the room.
"Go ahead and give it a taste."
He gently patted Felix's cybernetic head.
"Thank you, Master," Felix nodded, his voice filled with gratitude.
He lowered his body and stretched open his jaw so Ezekiel could pour it in with ease.
Ezekiel stretched his hand forward and poured the liquid ore down his throat.
Felix's cybernetic engines hummed slightly as he swallowed the liquid ore.
After emptying the vial, Ezekiel withdrew his hand, placing the crystal vial on the ground beside him.
Ezekiel breathed out in relief, slightly excited that the ores were indeed something that could make his cybernetic beast grow stronger.
If that hadn't worked, he would have fed them all to Spiral Fang.
"Do you feel anything strange transpiring within you?" Ezekiel asked, curious.
"No. I don't feel anything," Felix shook his head.
Ezekiel nodded. He realised it would take several more vials before Felix could feel the changes in his body.
He took out another vial and fed it to Felix.
It was after the tenth vial that Felix began feeling some changes in his body.
The liquid ore melded with his cybernetic beast core, amplifying the mana within. His armoured body turned almost silky as the liquid ores also fused with his metallic frame, transforming it.
Ezekiel could feel the changes transpiring within Felix, communicated through the bond they shared.
It took Felix twenty-five minutes to fully consumed the liquid ore.
Soon, the transformation stopped.
Ezekiel summoned Felix's status.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
◆ Rank: Lesser Beast - Second Rank (3.4%)
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
'A three per cent increase,' Ezekiel thought, excited.
Although the improvement brought by the ores was significantly less than he had expected, considering how much those ores cost, Ezekiel knew that he had no reason to complain, considering that Felix had absorbed everything and showed improvement in just a few hours.
Whereas other magical beasts couldn't fully assimilate a beast core within a few days or a day unless it was from one way lower than them in rank, and even then, they still needed time to adjust to their improved new level of strength.
Ezekiel was only worried about how much raising his Cybernetic beasts would drain his wallet.
'I'll consider that later when it becomes an issue. For now, no other nothing matters than increasing our strength,' Ezekiel thought.
He opened another box.
Within was a dark green metallic vein with iron-like bark and glowing green veins.
Ironvine Ores.
Ezekiel fed them to Felix one by one.
This time around, Felix took thirty minutes to consume them.
Ezekiel checked Felix's system profile and saw that his strength had improved by 5.4 per cent.
The next was Cloudiron Ore.
Then, the Lightningseed Ore.
In less than three hours, Felix consumed a total of 36 dungeon ores from the Low to High-ranked Light Green Dungeons.
Felix's strength surged by a terrifying 9 per cent.
From the frightening surge of mana that erupted from Felix, Ezekiel realised he had made the right decision by choosing ores that originated from dungeons conquerable by Rank Two Awakeners.
"Do you feel anything?" Ezekiel asked.
"Yes. I feel that not only my armour but also my attacks have gotten stronger. I also sense a slight improvement in my attributes. According to my analyses, this should be impossible. But it seems the magical ores Master has fed me have played a role in making this possible," Felix responded, with a hint of reverence in his tone.
"Alright, we'll test out your abilities later," Ezekiel responded. "You can continue resting and see if you can make any more improvements."
Felix nodded. He went to the entrance of the cave and lay down there calmly.
He focused on the minute transformation unfolding within him, all the while keeping an eye on the outside of the cave.
Ezekiel summoned CR Squad One and Victory from his storage ring.
Since there weren't enough ores for everyone, he decided to feed them first.
Their overall improvement would be more beneficial than that of the others in the long term, especially Victory.
Squad One saluted.
Victory lowered his head in response.
Their eyes drifted curiously towards the box, their noses twitching.
Without hesitation, Ezekiel unsealed the following box and began feeding them one by one.
They each received ten magical ores to consume.
