Limitless Cultivation: I Can Master Every Profession!

Chapter 204: A Moonlit Meal 2

.

Hearing her words, Zhu Rong burst into laughter, while Yuan Lan, who ingored everything till now, finally moved her gaze away from the food and looked at Liang Yuexin with a blank expression.

Liang Yuexin, caught off guard by the revelation and having asked without thinking too much, watched the scene and wondered if she shouldn't have said anything.

"You know, not many dare to call me that anymore," Yuan Lan said calmly, "and for those who did, I can't really guarantee they're still alive."

Her tone was calm, but her words were anything but.

Liang Yuexin found herself in an awkward situation and, for a moment, didn't know what to say.

The legends about the first Human Emperor weren't few, and the same could be said for his most important subordinates.

Among them, she was the most famous and well known of all, not only because she was the Emperor's right hand, someone who, according to the records, had been with him from the very beginning until the end when he disappeared.

But that wasn't what made her so famous in the eyes of scholars or the common people who had read about her existence.

What made her stand out above all else was her bloodlust.

In every single description of her, one thing was always present, how she slaughtered her enemies with terrifying ease and lethality, never sparing a single one.

Countless battles were passed down in historical records, and in many of them, she was there.

Whether it was against corrupted beasts during the Calamity or during the wars that followed, in every single battle where she took part, none of the enemies survived.

At some point, her notoriety grew so great that even just hearing her name sent people trembling, and that was when she earned her title:

The Lunatic Rose,

a woman of divine and transcendent beauty, who could captivate anyone's gaze and even make other women question their own orientation.

Such was her charm, but even greater was the brutality with which she slaughter her enemies.

Every battle she took part in meant one thing for sure none of the enemies would walk out alive.

Her title became so famous that whenever rumors spread that she might take part in a battle, even the slightest possibility of it, the enemies would flee en masse, preferring punishment to being slaughtered by her hands.

She was one of the pillars of the first Human Emperor's empire, and one of the reasons it prospered for centuries.

But few knew that she hated that title.

And how could they?

After all, the few "brave" souls who had the courage to face her head on and even call her by that title were never found again, their existence completely erased, every trace of them gone.

That only deepened the terror her name carried in everyone's heart.

Liang Yuexin had read about all of this, and though nowhere did it say she hated the title, looking at her expression now, it wasn't hard to reach that conclusion.

Before the atmosphere could grow any more awkward, Zhu Rong, who had been struggling to hold it in, burst out laughing.

"Hahaha! It's been so long since anyone called you that! Look at you, your fame's still following you even after all these years," he said, patting her shoulder.

She sighed at his words, as if used to his teasing.

"Anyway, let's drop these pointless matters and enjoy the meal before it gets cold," Zhu Rong said, and both women agreed before diving into the food without wasting another second.

No matter how important the woman's identity might have been to Liang Yuexin, there was a far more pressing matter at the moment, the food.

Yuan Lan didn't bother with formalities; she immediately picked up a plate of meat and began eating like there was no tomorrow.

With each bite, her divine expression turned into one of blissful ecstasy, savoring every piece of meat as if it were the best thing in the world.

Liang Yuexin, unlike her, didn't start eating right away even though she couldn't wait to do so.

She decided to choose calmly, letting her gaze fall on a bowl of soup, on top of which floated something resembling a rose made from various ingredients.

It wasn't a real flower, but it had been carefully crafted from the dish's components.

The soup looked simple, but she could feel a certain aura coming from it, it was anything but ordinary.

She picked up a soup spoon, took a bit, brought it close, and inhaled the aroma.

A refreshing and pleasant sensation immediately filled her senses, increasing her desire to taste it even more.

Without wasting any time, she took a sip, and the moment she did, her mind froze as countless sensations and flavors seemed to burst inside her mouth.

It was just soup, yet it felt as though she had just drunk some divine delicacy that shouldn't even exist in this world.

Her eyes sparkled, and soon, without any restraint, she followed Yuan Lan's example, tasting everything with joy and completely forgetting her usual refined composure.

Zhu Rong was the only one who hadn't started eating yet.

Instead, he watched the two women enjoying their meal with a smile and a look of satisfaction in his eyes.

' Heh, told you, no woman can resist my cooking,' he thought to himself proudly, before finally starting to eat too, especially when he saw that if he didn't hurry, there wouldn't be much left for him.

Dinner was good, and for the first time in a long while, Liang Yuexin felt completely relaxed.

No worries in her mind, everything else seemed far away as she simply enjoyed the moment.

She had eaten a lot, perhaps too much, but she didn't care.

With her body, she could eat for ten people and still be perfectly fine.

Her digestion worked at a ridiculous speed; she could have eaten this much every day and still kept her graceful figure.

The three finished and then relaxed.

With a wave of his hand, Zhu Rong made the plates and food remnants vanish into thin air.

Eventually, the two women got caught up in conversation, something that actually surprised Zhu Rong.

He had known Yuan Lan practically forever and was well aware that she preferred to stay on her own most of the time.

Apart from him, there really weren't many people she willingly interacted with.

The fact that she had decided to take a disciple was something he hadn't expected at all, it made him realize that this woman had changed during his absence, though at the end of the day, she was still the loyal battle companion he knew.

The two women talked about all sorts of things, from ordinary matters to their lives, especially Yuan Lan, who wasted no time recounting stories about the two of them and how they had defeated some of their enemies back then.

Liang Yuexin didn't hold back from asking for more.

Apparently, she deeply admired this legendary figure and was even more curious about that era.

Zhu Rong figured it was because she wanted to know more about herself, since her memories of that time were still far from complete.

The two went on chatting for a while until Yuan Lan decided to go rest in Zhu Rong's Dantian.

When Liang Yuexin saw that, she couldn't help but show a strange expression, wanting to ask something about it, but in the end, she held herself back.

And so, the two of them remained alone.

Zhu Rong gave her a glance and finally said

"Go on, spit it out. What do you want to ask?" he said, clearly noticing she'd been holding something in.

Liang Yuexin looked like a cat caught stealing, but quickly regained her composure and asked

"You said the creature that from that incident is still somewhere in the frozen Lands, and that you'll have to face it eventually.

How long are we talking about?" she asked, recalling something important he'd mentioned a few days earlier.

She understood his situation.

Even if she didn't fully grasp how all this soul fragment business worked, she understood the main point, that Zhu Rong would have to face that thing sooner or later.

"It's hard to say," he said after a brief pause. "If I were to face him now, as I am, I'd die before even scratching him."

"Eh?"

Liang Yuexin looked confused for a moment, and who could blame her?

She knew Zhu Rong's cultivation had already reached the Spirit Realm and that he was even past the initial stages.

For him to say he'd die that easily was a bit hard to believe.

After all, they were still talking about a Spirit Realm cultivator, and no matter how strong that creature was, to kill someone at that level as if nothing…

wasn't that a bit too much?

Zhu Rong could see her doubts and shook his head, saying,

"Believe me, the Spirit Realm isn't as strong as you might think. Not compared to the level that being has reached.

He's already at the advanced phase of the peak of the Spirit Realm, a level that normally shouldn't even be allowed to exist in this plane of existence.

If it weren't for the limitations placed on him, he would have already turned this entire continent upside down."
