This Evergreen Orb that I picked up was a special item that was formed by the energy that filled nature.
But it wasn't just any item as it concentrated that natural energy to the point where it took the form of this orb.
With all that energy concentrated into this orb form, it was naturally quite the potent thing.
This was how the trees around this place had grown to this point to begin with.
But it was also because of the large amount of nature energy that they had mutated into becoming living trees that attacked anything that approached. The Evergreen Orb was the source of their growth and they couldn't allow anything to take it, which was why they attacked anything that got close.
Now that I had gotten this Evergreen Orb, it was time to put it to work.
With this Evergreen Orb in hand, I returned to the town.
The moment that they saw me come back, Vanessa came over as if she was asking me if I had gotten the thing.
I just said, "Has the garden been prepared?"
She didn't waste a single word as she led me in a certain direction.
It didn't take us long to arrive at a large empty space.
This was the space that she had prepared for me to place the Evergreen Orb in.
I didn't say anything either as I walked to the center of this space and placed the Evergreen Orb down.
The moment that the Evergreen Orb touched the ground, there was green that appeared around it. Even though this land was supposed to be desolate, grass appeared the moment that the Evergreen Orb was placed down.
Seeing this, Vanessa didn't waste time at all to send the workers that had been gathered to the center with their tools and seeds.
With everyone working together, they were able to quickly plant the seeds in the area around the Evergreen Orb.
Though from time to time, they couldn't help stopping to take a close look at the Evergreen Orb.
That was because not long after the seeds had been planted, there were sprouts that already appeared. It seemed that the seeds that had been planted were growing at a visible rate.
That was just how much nature energy the Evergreen Orb possessed.
At this rate, it seemed like this place would be filled with plants very soon.
Even though I had called this place a garden, what it really was was a place where we would grow plants and harvest the resources that they gave. This would create a place where we would be able to grow many different resources at an incredible speed.
It was all possible because of the dense nature energy that the Evergreen Orb released.
Though there was also one thing that had to be considered.
"Make sure that they watch over the plants carefully and harvest them once they reach a certain point. If they don't, the plants will mutate and it'll be hard to take care of them when the time comes." I said to Vanessa while watching them plant the seeds.
She gave a nod before saying, "I know."
While I didn't doubt her abilities, it did seem like she was underestimating the Evergreen Orb.
After thinking about it, I decided not to say anything since it was good for her to suffer a loss now and again.
And that surprise soon arrived in the form of…
"Ah! It's running away!"
When Vanessa heard this, she immediately turned to see that one of the carrots that we had planted had suddenly jumped out of the ground and was running away from the workers.
First, it was a surprise that this carrot had grown this fast.
Second, it was a shock that the carrot had been able to come to life and run around like this.
There was a strange look that appeared on Vanessa's face when she saw this, as if she realized that she had made a mistake. She had clearly underestimated the power of the Evergreen Orb.
After watching them chase the carrot a bit, she slowly turned to look at me with a glare.
I didn't say anything, I just looked at her with a smile on my face that almost seemed like I was saying, "I told you so."
Vanessa didn't bother arguing with me anymore as she started giving orders to the other workers. After all, if something wasn't done, then it was likely that the rest of the carrots would come to life as well and cause the same problem.
So the only solution was to harvest them and move them away from the Evergreen Orb as soon as possible.
At this point, it was a race against time to stop the carrots from absorbing even more nature energy.
In the end, they lost this race.
There were several more carrots that came to life and started running away from the workers. There were even some that wanted to take the Evergreen Orb for themselves since they could feel the power that came from it.
So it was a match of keeping the carrots away from the Evergreen Orb.
I didn't help them since it was only through trial and error that they would learn how to properly grow these plants around the Evergreen Orb. It wasn't as if I would be around all the time, so they had to learn how to do it themselves.
That was why we used these carrot seeds first since the carrots wouldn't be that much of a problem. If we used the rarer seeds and those plants came to life, then it was likely that some of them would become plants that could even use magic.
Then that would be really hard to deal with.
Though the look on my face was calm, I was also a bit surprised.
"I really never thought that it would grow so fast. It seems like this Evergreen Orb isn't just a normal one, it might even be a rare quality one."
