With the Asura leading them, they certainly did move more fluidly than they had been moving before.
It was just that they still weren't a match for me or Aragon.
The two of us hadn't even come close to using our full power yet.
If we had, then the demons would have long been pushed back.
The problem with our full power was that it used quite a few skills that we shouldn't have.
So if we were to use our full power, then it would reveal certain things that we didn't want revealed.
Luckily it didn't take our full power to deal with them.
As long as I had the hero's sword, I had a natural debuff to the demons and they weren't able to do anything against me. With this, I was able to push back all of the demons that were charging at the gate.
But it didn't seem like they were stopping even though they were being cut down in waves.
It seemed like there was something that was still pushing them forward.
This wasn't fear as far as I was concerned since it wasn't as if a single Asura would be able to make these demons feel this kind of fear. There was the bloodline pressure that came from demons of higher bloodlines, but there were just too many of them.
So it seemed like there was some kind of plan.
"Ha, ha, ha, what are you going to do now that you're surrounded by these corpses? Do you still think that you can fight like this?" The Asura suddenly said before coming forward.
It seemed that I had completely overestimated this Asura's intelligence.
I thought that this was some kind of clever trap that was designed to take me out.
But in reality, it was a very crude trap that relied purely on bodies to stop me.
Even though the demons knew that this was a crude trap, it seemed that they had no choice but to go along since they knew that this was the only way to deal with me.
If they couldn't deal with me, then there was no way that they would actually be able to progress any further than this.
If they failed this expedition…
So it was fear, it was just that it was the fear of the tribe that was behind this Asura.
Since he was coming forward, there was no reason for me not to take him on.
But as I stepped forward, I suddenly slipped on one of the corpses that was in front of me.
"Ha, I knew that it was the right move to throw all of these lower demons at you! Now I'll be the one that takes the head of the hero!" He said with roaring laughter as he charged at me.
Only that soon stopped when he saw what I did.
The slip was naturally done on purpose or else I wouldn't have been this careless.
As I slipped forward, I suddenly spun in the air while spinning the hero's sword around. With the force of the spin, the hero's sword swung at a speed that I could never have done on my own.
It was already too late for the Asura to stop, so all he could do was pull out his weapons to meet the hero's sword.
He was able to stop it in the end, but he also coughed out some blood after taking this hit.
It seemed like he had suffered internal injuries from the holy nature of the hero's sword.
"You think that you can use these cheap tricks to fool me?" The Asura suddenly roared out after recovering before pulling out even more weapons.
Asuras had three heads and six arms, which meant that they were able to use multiple weapons at the same time.
With all six arms wielding a weapon, it certainly made this Asura seem even more threatening.
But I didn't panic as I charged forward once more.
"Want to see who has more arms?" I suddenly asked the Asura.
The Asura didn't say anything in response as he just narrowed his eyes to look at me, as if he was angry about what I said. It seemed that he took what I said as an insult to him.
That was why he suddenly swung all of his weapons from a different direction.
It was just that I was too fast for him.
When the Asura reacted, he found that he had completely lost track of me.
"I'm behind you."
The Asura turned around while swinging his weapons, but the only thing that he hit was thin air. He just wasn't able to keep up to the speed that I was moving at, so there was nothing he could do as he lost track of me.
But in reality…
"Create another illusion to the right. Send the voice to the left."
What I was actually doing was secretly using the power of the spirits.
The light spirit allowed me to create illusions that fooled him while the wind spirit carried my voice in different directions.
With all of these things disorientating him, the Asura simply couldn't keep up at all.
It didn't take long before it looked like he was completely off balance.
That was when I showed him one final illusion.
"How? How do you have so many arms?" He stuttered out in a shocked voice.
The illusion that I chose was the Thousand Armed Guanyin.
While he was distracted by this, I moved behind him and sent out one large slash that cut him from behind.
However, there was a reason why the Asuras were a top ranked tribe.
The bodies that they possessed really were powerful and I wasn't able to cut through them with just this alone.
So in the end, the Asura only suffered a large gash on his back before falling unconscious on the ground.
Since he was out…it wasn't as if I was going to let him live.
"Enough of that."
