Blood Holy Scripture: True Ancestor Charlotte de Castel

Chapter 133: The Awakened Deity

The Moon Temple is located at the very center of the Moon God Island, with a white tower bearing the symbol of the Moon God piercing the sky, making it the tallest structure in the entire Moon City.

Unlike what Sebastian remembered, this tall temple tower, in addition to its white façade, was also wrapped in emerald green vines, one circle after another, layer upon layer, densely covering nearly the entire tower.

Although he had anticipated it, Sebastian couldn't help but look grim as he entered the ancient temple.

Inside the temple, it was equally deserted, with piles of ash-gray ashes lying on the ground, very familiar to Sebastian.

The dense vines also filled every corner of the temple, turning the entire spacious temple into a green paradise.

On the chairs, the windows, the powerless crystal lamps hanging from the dome, and even on the foremost Moon Goddess Divine Statue, there were thick vines coiling.

The vines seemed to radiate outward from the Divine Statue, and Sebastian carefully recognized that this should be a plant documented in the Elf Books, known as the Emerald Silver Moon, growing in the heartlands of the West Continent.

This was the legendary favorite plant of the Moon God Artemis, blooming like a silver moon, incredibly dreamlike and beautiful, with its flower language in Elf Language meaning "pure moonlight, sincere love."

This plant was once a symbol of the Moon God, even carved into the temple's relief decorations, and in the ancient traditions of the Elf Clan, there was even a custom of using the Jade Moon as a token of courtship.

However, Sebastian clearly remembered that these Emerald Silver Moon plants only grew in the heart of the West Continent and had long become extinct with its destruction, yet he never expected to see them here on Moon God Island.

"Lord Sebastian! There is a temple journal here!"

The report from a soldier caught Sebastian's attention.

He looked over and saw a soldier standing in front of the vine-covered pulpit, with a drawer open containing an already somewhat damaged journal.

He hurried over and opened the journal, only to find it recorded temple rituals in Elf Language, but when Sebastian glanced at the dates, his gaze sharpened.

The last entry was from one hundred and twenty years ago, exactly the year he left Moon God Island.

Every Moon Temple has a tradition of recording a journal, and only ongoing journals would be placed in the altar drawer, and according to the conservative and serious nature of the Elf Clan, the placement of these journals would never be wrong.

The last date being one hundred and twenty years ago, meant that the temples on Moon God Island hadn't held any rituals for a hundred and twenty years.

This was vastly different from what Sebastian knew; although he had left Moon God Island a century ago, he had once exchanged with other Moon God Island Elves active on the continent, and Moon God Island had always continued its ritual traditions.

Just a few years ago, an old friend had even brought him some ritual flower tea from the island.

But why was the journal here dated one hundred and twenty years ago?

Sebastian's brow furrowed as he continued turning the pages, and upon reaching the end, he found a record that had been torn out.

The record had been mostly torn away, but some handwriting remained, the remnant quite messy, yet Sebastian recognized it at once as belonging to the Great Elder of Moon God Island, the very one who had once personally exiled him:

"Polluted... all have been polluted... Your Majesty the Goddess... might encounter misfortune!"

"He came... it is His return... must... preserve... the flame... leave..."

"Possible visitors, be cautious... of any living creature on the island!"

"..."

The messy writing was intermittent, indicating the writer was in quite a panic and hurry.

Sebastian's expression changed instantly.

"Lord Sebastian! There's a pool behind the Divine Statue! It's full of vines! It seems like there's something else behind the vines!"

Another exclamation came, and Sebastian quickly looked over, only to see several soldiers gathered behind the Divine Statue.

It was then that Sebastian noticed a huge pool that had somehow appeared behind the statue, marked with dense runes, with the pool filled with lush, thick Emerald Silver Heart plants.

What sent a chill through Sebastian was that before the soldiers called him, he, as a legendary, hadn't even noticed the existence of this gigantic sacrificial pool! A strong unease surged in his heart, and as those soldiers tried to pull away the pool's vines, the last journal entry suddenly flashed through Sebastian's mind again:

Possible visitors, be cautious...of any living creature on the island!

Living creature?

In that moment, various bizarre sights he had encountered since setting foot on Moon God Island flashed in Sebastian's mind again. His expression changed abruptly, and he quickly shouted:

"Come back! Do not touch those vines!"

But he was already too late.

The fastest soldier had already grabbed the winding stem of the vine, and at that very instant, the emerald green vine came alive, wrapping around him!

Amidst the terrified screams of the soldier, the vine lifted him into the air, piercing into his body.

Sebastian dashed forward, severing the entwining vine, but as the soldier fell to the ground, green vines started growing out from his eyes, nostrils, and ears!

Under everyone's horrified gaze, the soldier transformed within less than a second into a creature seemingly composed of vines, then roared and charged at Sebastian.

Sebastian's expression was grim.

He cleaved the "monster" in half with a single sword strike, and when the "monster's" body fell to the ground, another gruesome transformation that shocked everyone occurred.

The corpse gradually collapsed, with the sinister vines turning into rotting tendrils, exuding an unknown black fluid.

"Roar——!"

An angry roar emanated from the sacrificial pool.

"Roar——!"

More roars echoed from all directions outside the Divine Hall.

Looking at the corpses on the ground, feeling the magic that instinctively made him uncomfortable, Sebastian had a vague realization. He quickly communicated with the Blood Seal deep within his body, silently chanting:

"Blood Contract·Spirit Path·All Techniques Broken!"

All Techniques Broken, a legendary technique of the Bloodline's Spirit Path that Sebastian mastered after stepping into the Legendary Rank, could break illusions. Moreover, being the Favored of a deity, he could harness Divine Power to make this technique even more formidable, capable of breaking legendary-level Divine Arts.

A scarlet brilliance flashed, spreading outward from Sebastian. When the light swept over the vines, they transformed into menacing tentacles.

The light continued to spread, turning flowers into eyes and green grass into lumps of flesh, while the towering trees on the island morphed into layers of flesh.

However, the most terrifying feature was the sacrificial pool inside the Divine Hall.

The green faded away, revealing its true form. Sealed within the pool was a giant eye!

The eye, with a radius of more than ten meters, grew on a massive lump of flesh, surrounded by dark golden chains engraved with sun symbols.

However, those sun symbols were dim and seemed to have lost their effect.

In the next moment, the gigantic eye suddenly opened.

Its azure-black pupil gazed indifferently at the crowd, its look filled with madness and chaos.

In just one glance, the soldiers and mages who met its gaze exploded, bursting into a spray of blood mist, and even the highest-ranked Great Mage was not spared!

Sebastian felt a sharp pain in his eyes, his eyeballs exploding, the destructive force rapidly coursing through his limbs, relentlessly destroying his body.

His body began to expand and crackle, seemingly on the verge of explosion!

"A deity!"

"This is an awakened deity!"

Sebastian felt utter terror.

Yet, just as he was about to explode into pieces like the other soldiers, a cool force rose from within his soul, swiftly flowing through his limbs, calming the terrifying and chaotic magic inside him, and finally reforming his eyes in their sockets.

That was the power of Blood Divine Power.

Sebastian instantly regained his mobility, scrambling frantically to escape the Divine Hall, and upon seeing his escape, the giant eye seemed thoroughly enraged.

Angry roars resounded from all directions, the ground quaked violently, and the entire Moon God Island shook intensely.

Buildings collapsed, the earth tore apart, and under Sebastian's terrified gaze, he saw a monstrous giant beast, over five hundred meters tall, erupt from the ground!

This terrifying beast was far larger than the legendary sea monster Kraken. It had an octopus-like massive head and gigantic body, countless horrifying tentacles, exuding a terrifying and chaotic pressure, and oozing a viscous, foul-smelling black liquid.

Thick chains wrapped around its body, breaking constantly under its struggle, while its aura became increasingly vast and terrifying.

"Artemis..."

Interrupted low growls were heard, filled with intense pain and deep, struggling emotion.

But in the next moment, its voice turned once again into chaotic, frenzied roars.

The massive tentacles lashed out toward Sebastian.

Feeling the terrifying pressure, Sebastian's face turned utterly pale.

No escape!

He instantly realized.

Under such divine might and overwhelming pressure, escaping was out of the question; he couldn't even move a finger, let alone pray to the deities for protection!

The menacing tentacles slammed down in an instant.

However, just when Sebastian thought he would be smashed into pulp, scarlet brilliance suddenly burst forth from him!

Radiant brilliance rained down, and a complex, intricate array appeared before him.

Following this, a white palm stretched out from the void, gently catching the falling tentacle.

Scarlet flames rose, instantly turning the tentacle to ash, and Charlotte's figure appeared before Sebastian.

"Master!"

Sebastian was ecstatic, eyes filled with fervor.

"Roar—!"

The giant beast let out a piercing roar of pain, recoiling slightly, its frenzied and chaotic gaze shifting to the small figure standing in its path.

Charlotte stepped forward.

Standing in mid-air, dressed in a black divine gown, scarlet divine power surging around her, her silver hair fluttering in the wind, her crimson-golden eyes full of complexity.

Looking at the terrifying giant beast flowing with black pus, exuding a fallen aura, her gaze was one of both grief and anger, which finally turned into a soft sigh:

"Okeanos..."
