Mage Manual

Chapter 741: Breaking the Storm

In the deepest part of Senluo, the origin of the apocalypse, this land fracture named Silent Spiral emitted a world-sweeping roar of despair for the first and last time.

Yet, amidst this chaotic and fierce Crystal Grains storm, the Light of Hope was gradually lighting up. Those green Crystal Grains immersed in silver light were rapidly coated with dazzling silver, shattering to the ground, dissipating with the light, leaving only a barely audible sigh of relief that felt like an illusion.

The Silver Lamp took the Source Crystal from Ash and placed it into its lamp base as fuel. Seeing this, Ash was slightly lost in thought: It turns out that different Divine Beings have different ways of using Source Crystals... The Dream-Waking God embedded it in their Magic Wand...

But in the next second, Ash forcibly pulled his thoughts back, no longer thinking about these random details. He had been like this since childhood, when the teacher called him to the office to scold him for talking in class, he would unconsciously observe the patterns on the floor tiles, the shape of the pen holder, what clothes the teacher was wearing today... Only by filling his mind with meaningless thoughts could he escape the questioning of reality.

But he was no longer a child and could not have a favorite color.

Looking at the Silver Lamp God in front of him, Ash quietly organized the current information. Youlan Weiser was real; she was both the madman who destroyed Senluo and the operator Ash drew from the Seeking System in the Mage's Handbook. Previously, Ash had always been doubtful, but now Youlan Weiser's confession confirmed that the Seeking System in "Aurora's Mage Manual" was not fabricated but did indeed exist.

Therefore, the 'Beguilement Girl,' 'Purple Grudge Shadow Queen,' and 'Blood Veil Empress' that appeared in the card pool must also exist, and maybe just like Youlan Weiser, they have already appeared around him.

Of course, more importantly.

The Witch and Sword Maiden were real, living people, reachable people.

Perhaps right now, in the Sword Flower Academy of Dazzling Star, the Sword Maiden was sweating and training in swordsmanship; perhaps right now, the Witch...

Ash's thoughts suddenly stalled. He just remembered, the Witch had never revealed any real-world information about herself. Of course, Ash never asked, because they had already agreed... agreed on what?

Come to think of it, why didn't the Witch want to share real-life situations with him or have any intention to meet in real life? Like the Sword Maiden who demanded he meet her every day offline, which was the normal state of a romantic relationship. Besides, Ash himself wanted to visit Dazzling Star purely for tourism and to meet friends, as for having already decided on the future children's names, it was just because he was bored...

From this perspective, in this Void Realm team rushing towards reality, the Witch seemed out of place. She neither revealed her location nor let Ash visit her, content with the emotional needs of a long-distance relationship in the Void.

If she just didn't want Ash to visit her, there was no need to hide her real situation. Unless knowing her real situation would unimaginably impact their relationship...

These thoughts caused ripples in Ash's mind, but they ultimately failed to form a complete mental storm. The information he had was still insufficient, and pursuing the truth was still premature. For Ash, it was enough to know the Sword Maiden and Witch could be embraced.

Moreover, there was still a storm needing resolution before his eyes.

The Silver Lamp raised its head, shaking the lamp base in its hand, indicating the Source Crystal had been infused. Ash looked at the small Silver Lamp, his mind revealing two different figures.

One was a silent, tranquil girl who quietly assisted the team, a source of immense relief.

Another was a fierce, obstinate woman with a notorious reputation throughout Senluo.

Despite clearly being two unrelated individuals, they overlapped, providing an unreal sensation. Ash still did not know when she started liking him or what she liked about him, nor did he know how she felt watching him and the Sword Maiden or Witch being close. She hid it very well; if Ash hadn't pretended to sleep in the Dead City and overheard her true feelings, he might have thought it was all just an illusion.

Ash never understood her, never even approached her, except when they occasionally met. He would stand with her under a shared umbrella. She always appeared drenched, pitiful, and fierce, yet sometimes gently close to him. But soon, they would part ways, and as Ash left under the umbrella with someone else, her figure would blur in the heavy rain when he looked back.

Ash did not want to pity her, nor did she need pity. If she succeeded, she wasn't seeking praise and adulation, and if she failed, she wouldn't need compassion. Her ideal was such a chaotic endeavor, and though she was amidst the storm, she longed to become a part of it.

The Senluoians were like this, whether her, Tamasi, or those cults... They seemed to derive sufficient spiritual satisfaction from their beliefs, without needing external validation.

Ash had no right to 'pity' them, just, just...

"If..." he murmured softly.

"If what?" asked the little Silver Lamp.

Ash exhaled and smiled again, reaching out his hand. The little Silver Lamp placed its hand in his, and together they traversed the storm, silver light clearing the way to the core.

The effect of the Silver Lamp God was not simply 'purification' or 'dispel,' but 'Silverization.'

The reason the silver light area wasn't affected by the dark green storm was that all Crystal Grains caught within would be Silverized, completely nullifying all effects, thus unable to continue storing Senluo souls and simply vanishing into light.

In other words, given enough time, the Silver Lamp's light could purify all green beasts in Senluo, release all tormented souls, smooth over all the scars of this land, painting it with bright silver.

As Weiser said, dying and becoming a god in such an apocalyptic disaster, her godly effect must perfectly restrain the catastrophe.

Naturally, this included solving its instigator.

As they approached the storm eye, the birdcage imprisoning Whitedove and Blue Bird appeared in the silver light. Bathed in the intense silver light, the birdcage rapidly acquired a soft silver color. Ash drew the sweet words and hidden dagger sword and gently sliced open the birdcage.

Hearing the sound, the young Whitedove and Blue Bird opened their eyes slowly, looking at Ash, then lowering their gaze to the Silver Lamp.

With one slash, Ash separated the embracing twin gods. The apocalyptic storm covering the sky and earth began to collapse at that moment, while the Silver Lamp's light of hope was about to pierce through the Silent Spiral from the deepest part.

The young Whitedove was expressionless; he raised his wand, poking Ash on the head.

Once again, Ash's head was burst.
