Chapter 792: Demon

Filly Lena, a sophomore at Nebula University, majoring in Fashion Design.

She was an orphan, her father was missing, and her mother died in an accident when she was very young.

However, she didn't suffer much. Her outstanding powers of observation and social skills made her adept at the orphanage, easily driving away thugs she encountered occasionally. Sometimes she wondered why she was so good despite not putting in much effort.

When she grew up, she got into her desired university smoothly, had a promising future, a secret crush, and a drama series she followed. Overall, it was still a happy life.

She lived two kilometers away from the university in the Sparkle Diamond Apartments, a rental building mainly serving students. These days were non-school days, and she planned to watch a movie with friends. But unexpectedly, she received a message that her dream guy would be doing experiments all night in the lab building.

This actually had nothing to do with Filly, but her friend suddenly had something to do and couldn't go to the movie, because her friend found out the experimental report, which hadn't written a single word, had to be uploaded tonight. Furthermore, the worst part was that her friend's experimental data was left in the drawer of the classroom yesterday.

Needing to rush the report and retrieve the data, her friend had no choice but to ask Filly to return to school. Filly, with the expectation of 'maybe I could meet my dream guy,' returned to Nebula University, intending to drop by the lab building after retrieving the data. If she could see the guy dedicated to his experiments, it would be worth it. If she could ask him out for a late-night snack, she could only apologize to her friend.

However, as she entered the pitch-dark complex building, she heard footsteps behind her. Afraid it was a bad guy, she quickly hid without making a sound, luckily the person just walked past without noticing her.

Just as she retrieved the experimental data ready to leave, she heard explosive sounds of battle from upstairs, the entire building started to shake, then windows nearby shattered one by one, scaring Filly so much that she dared not move recklessly.

Suddenly, a voice started cursing in the corridor, and she saw a man jump directly from the third floor.

Before she could be surprised, she saw the lab building explode in the distance.

My Dream Guy—my dream guy—

Everything happened very quickly, the lab building exploded, smoke billowed, then a gigantic flame trident, as if pulled from a video game, landed with a snap on the lawn outside the complex building.

Filly stealthily approached, hiding in the shadows of the corridor, poking her head out to sneak a look at what was happening on the lawn.

Then she saw a scene straight out of a fantasy movie: a red-haired girl, about five feet tall, stood atop the flame trident, looking down at a black-haired youth holding a short sword in each hand.

But quickly, Filly recognized the youth—none other than Ash Heath, the genius creator, author, actor, composer, singer, and game developer, who had been all the rage in the Kingdom of Allstars in recent years and hailed as the 'Shining Morning Star'!

She let out a sigh of relief, looking in awe at the half-blown-away lab building in the distance—it turns out they were filming a movie!

No wonder!

The lab building must have been evacuated long ago, only serving as the background for the explosion!

The film industry is really amazing, she observed for a while, but couldn't figure out where the cameras and microphones were!

Come to think of it, Mr. Heath hadn't released any new works in half a year, and she didn't expect him to be brewing something big. Thinking this way, Filly took out her phone, intending to snap a photo to brag to her friends later.

When she took out her phone, she accidentally knocked over the mop beside her, which fell with a slap on the ground. Filly wondered who didn't put the mop back after use, but as she turned to look down, she saw the two below were both staring right at the shadow she was hiding in.

That expression was definitely not one of being interrupted during filming.

Instantly, a strong sense of danger welled up in Filly's heart, and she quickly and quietly moved away from the corridor. Yet she soon realized, if she tried to leave, she might run into them, so she resolutely chose to hide in a tool cabinet in the classroom!

The tool cabinet, made for storing buckets, mops, and the like, was spacious enough to hide an adult woman. Filly cautiously closed the cabinet door, and from the long air vent on the door, she could observe the outside to a limited extent.

Five seconds passed, ten seconds passed, twenty seconds passed.

Aside from the sharp siren of a fire truck ringing in the distance, the complex building was quietly silent, only the rustling wind lifted by the cool breeze sweeping through the classroom was heard. Filly heard no footsteps, as if no one had entered the complex building.

Filly also started doubting her judgement—she only saw them filming a movie, not as if she discovered them dealing in illegal contraband, did they really need to pay attention to her? Could it be she had been watching too many thrillers lately and started having a victim complex?

Even so, Filly had no intention of leaving. She wasn't a very proactive person; in fact, she was unnoticeable both in the orphanage and at university, and even when others showed favor towards her, she would shy away and not dare to accept it.

Yet once she decided on something, she would persist to the end. She had made a few strange decisions based on intuition in her past life, and every time it proved that her intuition was right.

And this time, Filly's intuition told her—not to go out, those two people were very dangerous.

She closed her eyes, trying to slow her breathing rate, calm her heartbeat, and reduce her sense of presence. When she felt herself almost blending into the darkness, she opened her eyes and found she couldn't see outside anymore.

No, it wasn't that she couldn't see, rather the long air vent of the cabinet... was blocked.

Bang!

The tool cabinet abruptly opened, the red-haired girl appeared suddenly in her sight. When the red-haired girl attacked, Filly instinctively grabbed the broom to fend off, shouting, "I—"

"Eh?" The red-haired girl seemed surprised she had the ability to resist, and her attacks became more intense.

Filly, by instinct, swung the broom, charging into the red-haired girl to escape the tool cabinet, while pleading as she ran: "I... I... ahhh..."

Filly only stopped after running a few steps, clutching her throat, emitting a sound like a broken bellows.

Blood soaked through her newly bought shirt, just days old, as strength quickly fled from her body, and two lines of tears traced down her cheeks.

I... I don't want to die...

Her legs crumbled like building blocks, and she collapsed onto the familiar classroom floor, her skin pressed against the cold surface as consciousness swiftly faded.

In a daze, she heard a familiar magnetic male voice: "To avoid deepening her awareness, you were cautious enough to use glass shards as weapons. Garbage weapons for garbage people, indeed."

"She'll only faint after a while, I won't fight with you here just because of your provocation." The sweet female voice was filled with indescribable cruelty: "But this slow death is also quite cruel to her. Why don't you just crush her head right away?"

Tap.

Tap.

Tap.

Footsteps gradually approached her position until they stopped beside her. An intense fear gripped Filly's heart, but she couldn't utter a plea, only producing a low whimper like a young beast.

A warm palm gently covered her wound, and soon, Filly felt the pain subside as a warm energy spread from her throat throughout her body.

"Ha, are you courting death?" The female voice burst into laughter: "You actually dare to use Miracle to heal her. Aren't you afraid the Mysterious Chains will bind you? Do you know her?"

Male voice: "I don't know her, but just now I didn't stop you when you ran over, and that's my mistake. I'm ashamed that I even had the same thought as you, but the difference between a human and garbage is that a human will correct their errors."

"If I watched you kill her, I would doubt if I'm the same level of garbage as you."

"Moreover, as long as she doesn't know me, it's fine." The male voice said, "I'll protect you. Can you close your eyes and not look at me? If you recognize me, I can't save you from this scum."

Filly used the last bit of her strength to nod heavily.

"But how could she not know you?"

The female voice echoed ominously: "You are Ash Heath, admired by all, seen by every car, and even coffins open their lids for you! Ash Heath, known far and wide! The entire Kingdom of Allstars knows Ash Heath!"

Though she didn't know the specific reason, Filly tightly grasped the man's hand beside her, repeatedly telling herself 'I don't know him' 'I don't know Ash Heath' 'I don't know this person beside me'.

"Do you feel your wounds healing?" The female voice explained loudly: "That's because Ash Heath is using Miracle to heal the wound in your throat! Modern technology can't save a slit throat in mere seconds, you should understand that, right?"

I don't know him...

"You must have seen Ash Heath's advertisements, watched his films, seen his photos? It's this man who just snatched your life back from the Death God, shouldn't you memorize his face and thank him profusely?"

I don't know him I don't know him...

"The hand you are holding now is Ash Heath's hand, isn't it warm?"

Filly seemed to hear a string snapping in her mind, the miracle in her throat, the warmth of the touch, Ash Heath's advertisements... all these things formed a concrete image, clearly visible even with her eyes closed!

No, she truly saw Ash in her heart.

In the astonished gaze of Ash and Vishi, Filly suddenly floated into the air. Starlight-colored transparent horns grew from her forehead, and three pitch-black wings emerged from her back, as elegant chains appeared on her hands.

Simultaneously, a collar emerged on Ash's neck, with a very short chain that turned transparent midway but undoubtedly linked to Filly's chains.

Boom!

Vishi wasn't a fool to just watch someone transform, no longer caring about the Mysterious Chains, she directly summoned the Flame Trident and smashed it towards the two!

"Not a chance!"

Ash unhesitantly swung his sword to block, successfully triggering the Sword Servant Miracle, and a white Sword Servant phantom slashed at Vishi from his body!

Vishi, of course, immediately switched weapons to defend, but just then, a black Phantom appeared from Filly as well!

The black Phantom looked remarkably similar to Filly, also wielding a blade to attack Vishi. Vishi hadn't anticipated this, being pierced through the Holy Domain and wounded in the thigh, she retreated over ten meters with an extremely grim expression.

"Could it be..." she murmured.

At this moment, Filly, terrified by the waves of their battle, sat on the ground, having long forgotten the rule of keeping her eyes closed, blankly watching their fantastical battle. When Ash looked over, she realized and quickly covered her eyes with her hands: "I don't know you, I also don't know who you are."

"You..."

Ash looked at the blonde girl sitting on the ground, with pitch-black wings and starlight horns on her forehead, and asked:

"Are you the Demon?"
