Chapter 788: Ash Is Mine

"Is this some new kind of profanity?"

The red-haired swordswoman sneered, "More people have called me a demon, but you're the first to call me an angel."

Would a projection possessed by an angel know it's an angel?

If it knew, would it confess or disguise?

Ash couldn't tell, but he didn't need to decide now. He said sincerely, "I'm not here for revenge or to catch you. I'm here to help you!"

"Why would the famous Ash Heath help a wanted criminal like me? Do you take me for a naive girl?" The red-haired swordswoman's sword stance suddenly became frenzied, her voice shriller with resentment: "Do you think you can deceive me? Do you think I'd let my guard down and fall for your plot? You despicable, shameless scumbag, I'm going to stab you right below with my sword—"

"Shut up." Ash's sword stance also quickened, "My tolerance for your profanity ends at a small trumpet."

"Ha, why should I listen to a miserable orphan like you?" she mocked, "Trash, go to hell!"

Suddenly, she held her sword horizontally in front, and Ash, perplexed, sliced through with one sword, as if it struck some thread, causing the red-haired swordswoman to suddenly whirl around. Her long sword carved out an exquisite arc, launching an attack from a blind spot Ash couldn't defend against!

Ash instantly recognized the move's prototype—it was precisely the Sword Maiden's self-created miracle, Meteor Disaster!

At this moment, Ash fully understood the relationship between the projection and the original. No wonder those who are in upper positions in reality are still in upper positions in Allstars; no wonder Nia's swordsmanship realm can rival that of a Legendary Mage.

The projection would synchronize all the abilities of the original, including but not limited to the magic realm, skill proficiency, and social skills!

Even if the projection lacks Technique Spirit and Magic Power, just possessing the magic talents of a Legendary Holy Domain exceeds ordinary folks in Kingdom of Allstars, much like how Ash can single-handedly defeat dozens; let alone mages who are often leaders, managers, organizers—these interpersonal abilities don't lose value in Kingdom of Allstars, hence the projection's life trajectory in Allstars won't differ much from the original's in Dazzling Star.

But recognizing it is one thing, Ash truly had no way to evade that move.

He couldn't use Technique Spirit or Holy Domain because Nia fundamentally wasn't a mage; using any mysterious ability would directly evaporate ineffectively; and within mortal limits, once Nia's move succeeds, it is indeed impeccably indefensible!

So… there's no need to dodge!

Ash raised his arm to take the hit from the sword directly, charging forward like a bull to slam the red-haired swordswoman against the wall, firmly grabbing her wrist with his right hand to release the sword handle, and then using his elbow and knee to restrain various force points on her body, successfully subduing her completely!

With the slight light seeping into the alley from the starry sky, Ash finally saw her appearance clearly: a face remarkably similar to the Sword Maiden, the same ruby eyes, red long hair, but with pupils filled with mania Ash had never witnessed, hair disheveled and greasy, poorly cared for. A fierce cross-shaped scar on the right side of her face made her look like a scarred crazy cat, instantly opening her mouth to bite Ash's arm against her throat!

Ash gasped in pain, "Let go!"

Not only did Nia not let go, but she started to tug, seemingly genuinely wanting to tear off a large chunk of Ash's arm!

"Someone's coming, don't make a sound!"

Thud thud thud.

The sound of long boots rang like thunder in the alley. Policemen, fully armed with gun bullets loaded, treaded through the sewage-laden ground, turning on flashlights, searching every corner of the alley where people could hide. As they noticed an alley branching off, the beam instantly revealed two silhouettes.

The two in the alley stuck to the wall corner, bodies almost overlapping, heads tightly together as if in a close embrace.

A patrol officer tensely shouted, "Who's there!?"

"Ah?"

The startled man shielded the woman in his arms, looking at the policemen with confusion and surprise, "What happened?"

"Just now, an extremely vicious murderer escaped into this area… wait, you're Mr. Heath!?"

When the officers caught a clear view of the man's face, their jaws dropped in shock, "Mr. Heath, why are you here!? This, you both…"

"Sorry," Ash chuckled wryly, "I'm not intending to reveal my romance just yet, so I chose a secluded place for an intimate date… you understand, if there's gossip about me, it would cause immense social pressure on the woman, as I have many crazy admirers."

"Ah, I understand, I understand." The officers displayed a 'caught up in gossip' expression, "Then please show your IDs for a check…"

"I wouldn't mind," Ash hesitated, "but as soon as our information is recorded, it might easily leak from the police station… if reporters find out…"

The officers exchanged a glance and nodded, "Being Mr. Heath, there's indeed no need for registration. By the way, Mr. Heath, have you seen anyone passing by recently?"

"I think I heard someone running through the alley just now." Ash replied.

"Thank you very much for your cooperation." The officers thanked him and continued to pursue down the alley.

As the footsteps gradually faded away, Ash breathed a sigh of relief, suddenly receiving a hard blow to the chest, pushing him away entirely.
