Los Angeles Legendary Sleuth

Chapter 310 Out of Control

Robbery and Murder Department, First Interrogation Room.

Before officially transferring Soster to the FBI, Luke wanted to give it another try.

If Soster was willing to plead guilty, there would be no need to hand him over to the FBI for interrogation.

Although the chances were slim, at least trying would leave no regrets and he could justify himself to his subordinates.

This matter was under Luke's discretion, but he still needed to consider the feelings of his subordinates.

Luke walked into the interrogation room with Jackson, where Soster was already handcuffed next to the interrogation table.

Luke sized up the other man, "Soster, you seem to be looking pretty good, I'm glad to see you're starting to adapt to life inside."

"Hmph, as if I had a choice."

"What I'm here for today is to give you one last chance to choose."

"Let's hear it," Soster leaned back, shifting into a more comfortable position.

"We've already found out who's behind the North Hollywood Bank robbery."

Soster laughed, "I have no idea who this 'behind-the-scenes mastermind' is. All I know is that the main conspirator Marbury has already been shot dead by you guys 'bang, bang, bang.' I bet you've killed more people than I have."

"I've only killed people who broke the law."

"Exactly, you kill according to the law without any responsibility. But it's different for us; we go to jail if we're caught."

"Don't complain. If the Los Angeles police didn't kill the bad guys, the citizens of LA would be at risk, and social order would be disrupted.

Then the citizens of LA would take up arms to punish lawbreakers themselves, without legal restrictions or police regulations, and they would be even more ruthless.

If they caught you, you'd die horribly, not a hair left on your head, let alone sit comfortably at the interrogation table and chat with me."

"Heh, the world you describe is actually quite appealing to me; disorder is the best order, in my view."

"It's precisely because of that mindset you're sitting here. And you don't have to look forward to it, you'll soon be entering another world to enjoy its order.

Also, to tell you some good news, your attorney Bern Wolf has turned himself in to the police and revealed the relationship between you and Muriel Baldini.

You killed Jacob Johnston and robbed the North Hollywood Bank under Muriel Baldini's direction.

We've now apprehended Muriel Baldini, so even if you want to cover for her, it's futile."

Soster stared at Luke, "Captain Lee, well then, tell me, what did I say to Bern Wolf?

If you can repeat our conversation, I'll listen to you."

"Soster, I've made myself very clear, the police have thoroughly investigated the case. There is no point in your evasions."

Soster sighed, "Maybe, but what's the point if I'm not evasive?

Can you offer me a favorable plea deal? Or are you going to let me go?

If not, please leave, whether there's a mastermind or not is meaningless to me."

"Soster, since you've been caught, you should just accept the legal sanctions quietly, that would be in your best interest."

"Bullshit, I don't care about that damn law. What right does it have to punish me?

I'm not even afraid of death, let alone scared of you cops. You think a few light words will frighten me?

Don't even think of getting anything out of me."

Luke said, "You've chosen the wrong path."

"I'm well aware of what the rest of my life will be like, you don't need to comment, and you can't change anything."

"Okay, then there's nothing more to say." Luke stood up and said indifferently,

"He's all yours."

With a "bang!" the interrogation room door was flung open, and Anthony charged in, "I've been waiting for that sentence."

"Have a pleasant time together," Luke dropped the line and left the interrogation room.

Anthony grinned, "We certainly will."

...

In a black Ford Transit van.

The driver's compartment and the rear passenger section were partitioned, creating two separate spaces.

Anthony was personally escorting the robber Soster.

Soster's wrists and ankles were handcuffed, secured in the vehicle, with a hint of bewilderment on his face; he had always thought Luke was bluffing, never expecting the other man to hand him over to the FBI so easily.

The car drove fast, and suddenly a school bus activated its 'stop' sign on the left, causing the driver to brake hard.

Anthony lurched forward, slamming into the cabin wall with a "bang," as his body cam fell to the floor. Anthony sharply lifted his foot, stepping on it.

Anthony knocked on the cabin and shouted, "Hey, what kind of driving is that? You've just broken my body cam."

"Sorry, it wasn't my intention, the school bus suddenly put out its sign."

"Drive slower, don't let it happen again. We wouldn't want to hurt our guest."

"What'd you say? I didn't catch that..."

"It's nothing. Just keep driving," Anthony yelled, then turned to Soster with a smile, "Such a troublesome fellow, aren't you?"

Soster's face showed a wary expression.

"Don't be so tense. I've long wanted to get rid of this thing. Let's have a proper chat; I've been holding back a lot of words."

"I have nothing to chat about with you."

Anthony pulled out a photo from the pocket of his jacket. It showed a young Mexican boy, "Do you know him?"
