Los Angeles Legendary Sleuth

Chapter 134 Admitting Guilt (14/21) Vote for Monthly Tickets!_2

"Right on the bed where Courtney and I used to play poker, now there was another man. Courtney is playing poker with that man, even the posture was the same."

I was fuming with anger; sure enough, she had betrayed me.

And she was so eager about it, I had just left, and she already found another man to play poker with.

I almost died of anger at that moment.

How was I inferior to that bald bastard?

However, what happened next nearly scared me to death.

The man grabbed Courtney by the neck, Courtney struggled initially but soon stopped moving.

Then, that man took a knife and stabbed it into Courtney's chest.

What was even more eerie followed.

The man hid in the wardrobe and left the door open.

Lastly, he hung Courtney up.

I was horrified after seeing that.

He was simply a psychopath.

I wanted to call the police then and there, but I held back.

If I had called the police, my illicit filming would have been exposed.

Courtney was a bad woman, not worth doing so much for."

When Luke heard this, he was somewhat surprised; the killer was Boris, but he deliberately altered the scene, using the crime of destroying a body to cover up the act of murder.

Such a cunning guy.

Luke asked, "Where did you install the camera?"

Peter said, "I installed it in the corner of the curtain, hard to find.

Also, I was worried the police would discover it, so I went to Courtney's house early the next morning to dismantle it. Afterward, I couldn't act as if nothing had happened, so I chose to call the police.

Later, I was hoping you cops would catch Boris so I wouldn't have to turn over the video, and it wouldn't implicate me either.

I was always curious about the progress of the case but also didn't dare to inquire too closely or to ask about matters related to Boris, afraid that you'd often discover it.

But I couldn't suppress my curiosity and investigated Boris through a detective agency.

To my surprise, Boris had been bailed out.

I was stunned.

Wasn't he arrested? How could he be released again?

Latter, I remembered Boris's tricky operations that night, and I realized that his actions were meant only to clear himself of suspicion after being captured.

I was furious.

This bald bastard cuckolded me and killed the woman I loved most, yet he walked out of the police station unscathed.

That's too ironic.

The LAPD is too incompetent.

I was enraged.

I wanted revenge.

Initially, I thought of extorting his money to compensate for what I spent on Courtney.

But I just thought about it, didn't dare to do it.

I know that's a felony.

But holding that video and doing nothing felt incredibly frustrating.

It's like having a nuclear bomb in your hands while others molest your wife and slap your face, yet you can't fight back, only keep a low profile.

I was almost dying from frustration.

Then, I contacted him and told him to go to a gay bar to perform a striptease; if he danced for a week straight, I wouldn't report him, otherwise, I would hand over the video to the LAPD.

He agreed."

Luke laughed, "You are indeed a talent."

Peter asked, "That's the whole story, have we reached a plea deal now?

There's no extortion, no coercion, no illicit filming. Just a video that can help the LAPD solve a murder case."

Luke thought about Peter's situation, "I will relay your testimony to the prosecutor, turning you into an informant. I can't guarantee it 100%, but it shouldn't be a big issue."

"Thank you," Peter said, then felt puzzled, "How did you get onto me?"

"On the night of April 30th, there was a dashcam in your Lexus, but by the morning of May 1st, the dashcam had disappeared." Actually, Luke initially thought the videos were captured through the dashcam, not expecting Peter to have installed a surveillance system in Courtney's house.

"Just because I removed the dashcam, you found out there was a problem?" Peter was surprised.

"To you it is a minor thing, but for the police, it's definitely problematic. If I'm not mistaken, that dashcam must have recorded something."

Peter nodded, "A few days ago, I drove to Courtney's house to install the camera, worried about being discovered by the police."

Luke pressed, "Where's the video?"

This is the most important.

...

At Boris's house.

"Ding dong..."

The doorbell rang.

Boris went to the door and looked through the door entry system, "Who's out there?"

"Dancer, it's me, I know you live here, I like you, open the door quick." A drunken muscle man stood outside.

"Fuck!" Boris cursed angrily, "Just thinking about being forced to dance in a gay bar makes me furious; if I find the bastard who threatened me, he's dead."

"Hey, honey, open up, I love you." The muscle hunk's face was flushed, his voice loud and the coquettish tone was nauseating.

Normally, Boris would have chosen to call the police, but today was different, this wasn't something to boast about, and he also didn't dare to call the police.

"Creak..." Boris opened the door to drive away the drunk, able to fight several men like him on his own.

However, as soon as the door opened, several people rushed in from both sides, "LAPD!"

"Put your hands up!"

"Don't move."

Boris was controlled before he could react.

"Fuck! Why are you arresting me?"

Luke approached, "Hey, Boris, Peter sends his regards."

"Peter, fuck, I knew it was that bastard."
