It wasn't until Grien got into the carriage that he suddenly realized something and chuckled, shaking his head.
"This is really..."
"Who exactly is the Enchanting Demon."
Seemingly hearing the self-talk of the distinguished passenger behind him, the goblin pulling the carriage laughed ingratiatingly as he joined in the conversation.
"Hehe... speaking of Enchanting Demons, there was a nice one just now... hehehe."
Grien glanced at the measly goblin, smiled, and said nothing.
Is that something you should be concerned with?
"Pull your carriage."
...
As Grien was riding the goblin carriage through the bustling street scenes towards the Demon King Academy, the other half of the planet in the Demon King Territory was just as chirpily bustling.
But the liveliness here differed from Demon City, the noisy voices were noticeably more chaotic.
In front of the resurrection point, the quality square was filled with endless cries of vendors, squeaking incessantly.
"Netherworld Language single-handed sword for sale! Comes with three swift Netherworld Language inscriptions! Ninety thousand Joss Paper! Honest trading, no deception!"
"Such a bargain!"
"Demon energy pistols! Shoots fast and hits accurately! Any takers?! One hundred and ten thousand Joss Paper each!!"
"Damn! Are you robbing people?!"
"??? Say that again?"
"Does, does anyone want clothes?"
"Compressed biscuits! Super long-lasting!"
"What are these made of?"
"Don't worry about the ingredients, it's for your own good!"
"???"
Ever since Mist Town's map was opened, the players seemed to have completely unleashed their imagination, with all sorts of bizarre ideas popping up one after another.
Watching those skeleton soldiers hawking their wares, Sherry had a curious expression on her face.
"Are they selling things?"
Following her gaze, Helen's eyes rested on a clothes stall.
A skeleton and a Little Demon were chattering in language she couldn't understand, seemingly haggling over the price.
"Perhaps so."
In the blink of an eye, a deal seemed to be struck.
The skeleton soldier put on a garment that appeared to be woven from spider silk over its head and left contentedly.
As they watched it leave, the Little Demon vendor seemed somewhat sad?
However, what caught their attention wasn't the Little Demon vendor's expression, but something else.
Sherry widened her eyes in disbelief, saying,
"Why didn't that skeleton give any money?"
Could it be that in the Great Graveyard, you don't have to pay for things?
Helen was also curious about this, and after pondering for a while, she said,
"Maybe it's invisible money."
It was said that the Great Graveyard used Joss Paper.
However, she'd only heard about it and had never actually seen what it looked like.
The two Dark Night Elves looked around the square for a while but didn't stay long.
Following a robed Geckonian acolyte who had appeared, they quickly followed behind him, down the winding mine tunnel to Oke's Magic Workshop.
When they entered the Magic Workshop, Lord Demon King was standing alongside a short goblin, facing an oddly-shaped metal machine.
The goblin was fawning and groveling endlessly, uttering "worthy of Lord Demon King" flatteries.
Honestly, Sherry really despised goblins.
In her mind, these creatures were nothing but lackeys of Ogres and, like Ogres, they were impolite, not only causing trouble on the fourth layer but also showing a lewd smile whenever they saw her.
However, out of respect for Lord Demon King, she simply ignored the creature.
Before the Geckonian acolyte could speak, Sherry, full of spirit, addressed Lord Demon King's back.
"Lord Demon King, may I ask what you needed Sherry for?"
Hearing the voice at the door, Luo Yan stopped what he was doing, turned his head to look at the Geckonian acolyte at the doorway and nodded, then turned to the two Dark Night Elves with a smile.
"You've arrived just in time, I have a treasure I was planning to show you."
The Geckonian acolyte nodded slightly in acknowledgment and quietly left Oke's Magic Workshop.
"A treasure?" Sherry tilted her head in puzzlement, her gaze falling on the strangely shaped machine, "It's not this thing, is it?"
Helen also wore a puzzled expression, looking at the Demon King with a questioning eye.
Luo Yan nodded, speaking with a smile,
"Exactly."
Sherry hesitated,
"But... it's just a machine, right?"
Before she could finish speaking, Oke's high-pitched shriek interrupted her.
"What do you mean it's just a machine?! How dare you underestimate Lord Demon King's wisdom! Oke will not allow it! You ignorant pointy-eared fool! Unable to discern what's good from bad! @%#!"
Startled by the noisy outcry, Sherry, regaining her composure, glared fiercely at Oke, but hadn't expected the goblin to have such gall, ignoring her threatening look completely.
"Why are you yelling so loud? Besides, aren't your own ears pointed?"
"Oke is different!"
Puffing out his chest, Oke argued with conviction,
"Lord Demon King said, Oke is the smartest goblin! Even smarter than a goblin! Though with pointy ears, not a fool!"
Helen: "..."
What's the difference, anyway?
Unlike her calm sister, Sherry was fuming with irritation, about to chastise this ignorant creature when she was stopped by another voice coming from the side.
"That's enough, I don't have time to watch you argue."
Observing Sherry's anger nearly at its peak, Luo Yan coughed to interrupt his minions' squabbling and continued in an authoritative tone,
"You're right, it is just a machine, but with its power, we can effortlessly accomplish things that even magic has difficulty with."
