The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!

Chapter 119: Padric's Library_2

In this world, the Soul Realm is an exceedingly unique existence.

Unlike Subspace where storage spaces are located, it isn't a physical entity space but rather a conceptual space overlaid atop the spirit world.

Its history traces back to the "Premonition Dreams" of ancient ritualists.

Some wielders of Extraordinary Power among the ritualists claimed they could communicate with deities in their dreams, receiving revelations about the future... These unusual dreams were the early forms of the Soul Realm!

Late in the First Epoch and early in the Second Epoch, after meditation theory had matured, the majority of magicians had mastered the ability to sink their spirits into the "Sea of Consciousness."

This "Sea of Consciousness" was, in fact, the personal equivalent of the "Soul Realm."

Within it, individuals could examine their own spirit, converse with themselves, but couldn't directly establish contact with others or even deities... unless through some medium.

For some powerful magicians, they were not only able to influence the spirits of others with their formidable spiritual power, but they could also carve out their own domains in the "Soul Realm" and allow all qualified sentient entities to connect to it.

It was akin to a public server.

Indeed, from the development of the Soul Realm theory, it's clear that this world isn't entirely like the stagnant world described by Linte Isaac. However, most of this world's scholars were magicians, naturally focusing their research primarily on Extraordinary Power.

In comparison to the magicians of ancient times, contemporary magicians' understanding of Extraordinary Power was almost akin to the presence of deities. Even though some knowledge had been lost, it was closer to a culling than a true forgetting.

Standing in the library of the Padric family, Luo Yan marvelled at the wealth of the collection, but also couldn't help but lament the truly exceptional foundation of this "noble house."

Putting aside bloodlines and talent, simply having these books here meant he was already countless steps behind at the start line.

Without wasting time, Luo Yan headed straight for the subject, going to shelf number 42 and finding the book located at the end of the eighth row on the left.

It was an ancient-looking book, its old leather cover yellowed. There wasn't a single word on it, yet it emanated an ominous aura as if it were filled with words.

Without hesitation, Luo Yan opened the front page and began to read the first line of text.

"...Studies on Chaos can be traced back to the distant Savage Epoch."

"In the Savage Age, when mortals' spirits were not yet stable, a group of extramundane deities came here, attempting to impose their spirits upon us."

"We do not know where they came from. Records mention they arrived from the stars, while other claims suggest they originated from places even more remote than the stars. It was a pitch-black fertile ground where only death and obliteration could eternally prosper. They had but one purpose, which was to extinguish the embers of life, collapse the mountains, freeze the rivers, and leave everything in dead silence... until the Day of Reckoning would reset the world."

"We do not know why they did this, and they never told us the reason for their actions. In those benighted and blood-soaked times, we fought against their followers for a thousand years, eventually overcoming the evil spirits from Chaos as well as the ignorance and savagery within our hearts, thereby averting world destruction."

"It is a story far older than the First and Second Epochs, an epic recorded on ancient tablets in old inscriptions... a history that even predates the rise and fall of deities."

"The best way to avoid the Corruption of Chaos isn't to study it, but to utterly ignore them, cover our ears, and block out the whispers from behind the cosmic veil."

"Nevertheless, I know deep down that even if I warn my descendants thus, there will still be those who, whether intentionally or not, will uncover ancient tombs and perform those rituals disguised as blessings."

"We have already met, and it is destined that we will meet again in the not-too-distant future. Should my children remain as ignorant of the enemies they are about to face as those thousands of years ago, history will repeat itself... For this, I must take certain risks and write down this knowledge that should not be left, tucked away in an unknown corner."

Luo Yan was deeply engrossed in reading, sitting cross-legged next to the bookshelf, completely immersed in the ocean of knowledge.

The four Chaos Gods were "Crown of Pride" Avallo, "Claw of Everlasting Hunger" Urgos, "Deceitful Fog" Novel, and the last, "Flame of Destruction" Calmandes.

The four Chaos Evil Gods each represented different forms of havoc and manifested in strange and unpredictable ways, making them impossible to guard against fully.

Take for example the Crown of Pride, Avallo.

Unlike the Deceitful Fog, He didn't even have a fixed form; sometimes He would appear as a crown worn upon the head of the Chosen, while at other times He might exist in other forms such as a ring or a necklace.

As the foremost among the four Chaos Gods, His destructive power was far greater than that of the other three deities.

According to the "Nameless Book," Avallo's corruption was particularly subtle and difficult to detect. On one hand, He reached out to nobles, kings, and those wise persons who fancied themselves as all-knowing, and on the other hand, He also corroded the very foundations of kingdoms—those who blindly believed in authority.

Both the obstinately foolish actions and the unquestioning followers pleased Him.

The former are called "Dominators," while the latter are known as "fanatics."
