Poof!

Suddenly, a blood mist exploded only seven to eighty meters away from Grimm. He was drenched in cold sweat up until this point; it was like he had just witnessed another higher-level energy cluster emerge from another dimension.

At that moment, Grimm felt as if a meteor had struck down from the sky which rung the bell of doom in the world he knew.

As a formal Sorcerer who could control nature force at ease, Grimm instinctively sensed that a huge ball of black ’empty space’ had appeared in mid-air. As this ’empty space’ got closer to him, Grimm’s ability to control nature force looked more like a joke as the force of nature that filled space could be manipulated from being in a liquid state to one of solid.

This black ball-like ’empty space’ had a diameter of one hundred meters. It attempted to steal the nature force two meters around Grimm.

This was a serious problem…

In other words, when Grimm was only fifty meters away from this level 4 creature, he would completely lose the basic ability to manipulate nature force and he could only face the creature as a strengthened sorcerer apprentice with only his own Magic Power. Even with that said, the results of this battle would not change with or without the ability to manipulate nature force.

“No!” Grimm instinctively screamed as the compressed energy cluster got closer to him.

If this compressed energy got too close to him, Grimm would no doubt perish into a blood mist just like the other sorcerers.

At that moment, Grimm felt that his head was surprisingly clear. His adrenaline rush triggered and stimulated every inch of his body. Every single one of Grimm’s body cells seemed to have transformed into an individual creature that was capable of thinking. They had awakened to the dire situation whereby Grimm’s life was at stake.

Time seemed to have slowed down that very instant.

Under the influence of Grimm’s Dissimilation Sorcery, the cell memories deep within the life codes of the body cells cracked. Since it was no longer in a complete state, it released an entirely new kind of information. This information was the long-forgotten guidelines on the evolution of a creature that was passed down since ancient times.

According to sorcerers’ life research, one creature of a certain species would achieve an evolutionary breakthrough at a certain period within the infinite worlds where all creatures bred to ensure the continuation of life. They could even evolve into a Level 7 creature!

A Level 7 creature was known as a creature’s highest level of evolution breakthrough. This was something that a low-level creature could not understand. It was the ultimate life form that could travel through endless worlds.

Human bodies today are weak. According to a sorcerer’s research, one of the human race’s ancestors must have achieved the evolution of a Level 7 creature. That was why Anatomy Refinery Sorcerers were able to break through their limits and further strengthen their bodies.

At this most critical moment, Grimm subconsciously broke through the first level of his wild instinct by depending on the changes in his life codes. This was supposedly the unique ability of someone who had their entire attention on the refinements of a creature’s wild instinct.

This was an entirely new world for Grimm.

He felt that every single cell in his body was activated. This was something that happens during the evolution of a creature where its survival instincts continued to strengthen every minute. As the passive consciousness of one’s life being threatened was continuously recalled, the body simultaneously adjusted itself to the situation. This led to an enhancement to the human body’s structure which was experienced arduously by different evolution paths throughout the years.

Beneath Grimm’s skin was a layer of dark corium which protected Grimm from elemental damages. This was something Grimm acquired after achieving self-evolution, the ultimate ‘mutation’ of the human race’s gene.

At this moment, Grimm felt that the activated cells within his body had started to upgrade this layer of dark corium. Like a teenager going through puberty, Grimm’s bones were aching uncomfortably. He let out a hiss and heard chipping sounds from his body. After that, pieces of silver coin-sized black scales that were neatly arranged appeared on his skin, including Grimm’s face that was hidden beneath the Mask of Truth.

The shimmering black scales seemed to have an incredible amount of defense power.

Breaking through the first level of his wild instincts was an incredible achievement for a creature’s biological potential. Grimm consciously felt that his survival instincts had been greatly strengthened where every single cell in his body was releasing their own unique signals in the face of the life-threatening premonition.

Before Grimm even had the time to celebrate the evolutionary breakthrough of his body, his cells screamed at the horrifying threats of death. Then, with the help of the Mystic Eye, Grimm finally noticed the high-level creature which was covered in black greyish layers of energy which was just seven to eight meters away from him. His consciousness screamed for him to run as the creature got closer to him, but his body was scared stiffless.

“Move! Run! Come on! Move!” Grimm mentally yelled out of desperation, but his body did not respond to his call. Some may say, the speed difference between Grimm’s movements and the approaching speed of the high-level creature was far too great to even have the time to respond accordingly.

Therefore, even with Grimm screaming for his body to move, he only managed to make an effort in extending his time by pushing himself backwards when the high-level creature was just three meters away from him.

Rationally, Grimm’s movements were nothing more than a mere difference in seconds from his certain death. However, for a creature’s survival instinct, no one cared about this seemingly minute difference. If he could survive a little longer, he would willingly take it.

The humongous high-level energy level swept towards Grimm. The chubby Amonro within the black-greyish energy cluster was like a noble who was lazing on the couch. It did not even look at Grimm, as if killing him was just as easy as squashing a buzzing fly.

Looking from another point of view, Grimm’s current situation was just like the times when he unconsciously slaughtered many low-level Amonros along the way.

With the ultimate fear for his imminent death, Grimm suddenly understood some theories regarding the concept of time during the suppression from a superior creature.

Sorcerers viewed time from a hundred years’ basis but separated one second into multiple experimental records. This was something unimaginable for low-level creatures like the sorcerer-apprentices, but it had become an instinct for sorcerers.

The gap between the creatures’ levels was being reflected.

When the formal sorcerers’ level mutated to a higher state, it would be like a sorcerer looking at an apprentice. Therefore, at this moment, Grimm could not even picture the extent of such a creature’s level.

‘Is this the end?’

Just like Grimm’s assumptions, this pitch-black Enigmatic Energy really had space attraction abilities whereby the surrounding nature force was bent unconsciously due to the higher level of the Enigmatic Energy. Hence, forming the black ’empty space’ within Grimm’s nature force sensory range.

When the pitch-black Enigmatic Energy was just a meter away from Grimm, the Sorcerer Barrier on Grimm’s body bent before it finally cracked and broke. The black scales on Grimm’s body wrinkled like it was being burned by intense heat when the barrier was down. The high air pressure from the surroundings attempted to crush Grimm and his bones, making cracking sounds as he struggled to resist the pressure from the outside world.

Ugh…

Grimm felt despair when blood splurted out from his lips.

Space Distortion, this was known as the ultimate survival technique for an inferior creature like sorcerer-apprentices. However, for an official sorcerer, time stopped before space was bent. During that period, the caster was a living target in between the overlapping of spaces.

A while ago, the bent space beside Grimm was suddenly smoothened by an external force, trapping Grimm in that specific location.

Grimm forced out a bitter smile from his bloody lips as he started to lose sight of his future.

‘This is the breakthrough that the Wild Instinct Anatomy Refinery Sorcerers worked so hard to achieve? What’s the point of being able to breakthrough subconsciously, when I’ll still die?’

Even though the dark greyish Enigmatic Energy had yet to touch Grimm, his body was squeezed to the point where it could change shape at any moment. Grimm’s body was on the verge of being crushed by the huge force from his surrounding dimensions as if it wanted to transform Grimm into a twisted mess.

Up until this point, the mere offense power from air compression must have already exceeded one thousand and five hundred degrees.

One’s heart was depicted in many forms. For a low-level creature, they did not have the luxury of even one over tenth of a second. But, for a high-level creature, many things could happen in this short amount of time.

Just right before Grimm got turned into a blood mist like his fellow sorcerers, a specific space coordinate appeared within his soul. Grimm’s eyes snapped open in response to that. Desperate to survive, Grimm activated all of his remaining Magic Power and disappeared out of thin air.

After a short while, Grimm fuzzily appeared in another dimension.

The Myna with glamorous feathers stood on a five-meter long crocodile-like beast. Beside it was a stranger, a Dark Sorcerer who was arguing about something with the Myna. They turned towards Grimm in unison when he appeared.

“Come forth, Beast Grimm! Beast Grimm summoning spell! Caw, caw, caw, he appeared! Did you see that kid? This is Lord Ba’s holy summoning spell. How was it…”

The Myna froze before it got to finish his joke. On the other hand, Grimm’s face which was hidden under the Mask of Truth whitened before he had the chance to say anything.

There was a black-greyish shadow tied around his waist.

Loud shrieking sounds of a crystal being smashed was heard coming from the space. This shadow tentacle which traveled through space with Grimm gradually pulled back into a tight straight line. It formed an infinitely long black line across space, like a rubber band that was being pulled.

‘No…’

With a ‘woosh’ sound, Grimm was pulled back from wherever he came from at an unbelievable speed.

This Shadow Enigmatic Energy came from the previous dimensional space. It followed the rules of dimensional space and dragged Grimm back. Grimm felt that his body was going to snap into two from the intensely high magic air pressure which was caused by the overwhelming pulling speed of the Enigmatic Energy.
