North America Gunman Detective

Chapter 562: Saving Lives

Jimmy drove Eddie to the location where he found the car. After confirming the location and checking the surroundings, he let Eddie take a taxi home, of course giving him the fare.

Jimmy drove along the road, locating the positions of the surveillance on both sides and at intersections, before calling Jones to immediately notify the joint command center to start investigating the surrounding surveillance and arrange for a team to come over to investigate private surveillance in the vicinity.

Investigating surveillance consumes a lot of manpower and time, and Jimmy couldn't waste all his time on this.

While Jimmy and Jones were busy finding clues to locate Peter and Elizabeth, the two of them didn't have any particular issues. Nate and Penny, who kidnapped them, had some mental quirks, driven by love, and due to things they promised each other in letters, they were preparing for their third robbery.

But before executing the robbery, they needed to live a normal life. So after tying Peter and his wife and throwing them on the sofa, Nate went to deal with Peter's car and got another one, also scouting the location for their third robbery to understand the situation.

Peter originally intended to surprise Elizabeth with a weekend getaway arranged after a car accident, now the surprise turned directly into shock.

Elizabeth's eloquence was really good. She first chatted with Penny and extracted information from them, then, taking advantage of the situation where Nate was wronged, she made the conversation increasingly relaxed. When Nate and Penny were cooking, she gave some verbal guidance and even had her ties unfastened, allowing her to cook personally.

Using the cooking opportunity, she tried to alleviate Nate and Penny's tension, taking every chance to kick the bag over to Peter.

Everything was going smoothly, and Peter was about to have a chance to get the gun from the bag when Nate discovered it. He held Elizabeth at gunpoint, making Peter hesitant to act, and also found Peter's gun from the bag. Nate and Penny also discovered an FBI badge in Peter's suit pocket, with Peter's photo and information on it, further exposing his profession. The situation deteriorated rapidly, and Peter and Elizabeth were tied up again.

Fortunately, although Nate and Penny had some issues with their minds, they didn't directly kill Peter and Elizabeth. However, because of Peter's identity, they redesigned their third robbery process and successfully forced Peter to accept their plan. Peter had no choice but to participate with a gun to Elizabeth's head.

The third robbery was scheduled for early the next morning, and now they still had enough time to plan and design.

-----------------

Jones arranged for people to investigate the surveillance, while Jimmy stayed in a café, ordered a coffee, and waited for a call.

Winston didn't call Jimmy back again. He directly contacted a man named Barry King, asking him to contact Jimmy. So Barry King must be someone Winston highly trusts. He felt it unnecessary to separately endorse Barry King to Jimmy.

Now that Jimmy had agreed to his $200,000 reward without even bargaining, such straightforward acceptance meant that a contract had been established between them, so the intelligence had to be provided; otherwise, the consequences could be a bit serious.

It was this thought that allowed Jimmy to peacefully drink coffee while waiting for news; otherwise, he would have been out driving around town.

The phone rang, and Jimmy picked it up, sounding a bit disappointed, "Mr. Yang, your CLS has been repaired, please arrange a time to come by for the paperwork."

Jimmy: "OK, I'm a bit busy today, I'll drop by tomorrow or the day after. Goodbye."

He didn't say much to the people from the 4S shop, as his phone needed to be free in case he missed a piece of intel.

After waiting the whole afternoon, Jimmy's phone finally rang again, and it was from an unknown number.

Jimmy: "This is Jimmy."

"Mr. Yang, the person you're looking for has been found."

Jimmy: "OK, give me the location."

"The usual place."

Jimmy left the café, drove back to Barry King's hideout, and it was still that same homeless man. He got directly into Jimmy's car to guide him.

While driving, Jimmy took another call, and Jones's voice came through, "Jimmy, did you find any clues over there?"

Jimmy: "A little, not confirmed yet. What's up? You sound anxious."

Jones spoke quietly, "The kidnapping of Peter has already spread, and people from above have been sent to inquire. If we can't resolve it in time…"

Jimmy: "I understand. Stall them; give me some time." Jimmy glanced at the homeless man in the passenger seat, "I'll take care of it."

Jones: "Alright, we'll continue investigating here. Hopefully, there will be a result today."

Jimmy hung up the phone, looked at the man beside him, "Your intel is accurate, right?"

Homeless man: "Trust us, no one would want to give you false information after receiving your bounty.

You're a legend, a real legend. You know, seeing you ambushed on the street and still taking down five gunmen, and surviving a recent ambush with grenades and rockets while killing three, no one would want to stand against you."

Believe me, everyone who knows about you, especially those on the darker side of society."

Jimmy: "Oh, it seems your intelligence gathering is strong. Have you seen the video?"

Homeless man: "Yes, someone recorded it. Although it's not complete, most of the combat scenes are there."
