Jimmy hung up the call, dismantled the battery, and tossed it back into his travel bag; this phone could be destroyed once he left the place, and he would buy a new one.
Things were now clear. The Intercontinental Hotel had received some kind of commission and then published a public bounty. The assassins in New York got the news and started to investigate, eventually finding this villa.
The man killed earlier, who was wearing a bullet-proof vest, must have been a member of the assassins, only he was rather unlucky. Although he had enough money to buy information and find the target villa, he didn't expect the people inside to be so vicious, sending him to his death outright.
Looking at the time, there was half a day left, and he estimated that quite a few more assassins would come. It seemed that he wouldn't be lonely tonight.
Jimmy thought it over and decided to check the bodies. He put on disposable gloves and went over to the nearby corpse, searched it, and found they really were clean: no wallet, keys, cell phone, or anything like that, just a dagger and two spare magazines, as well as the pistol he had kicked into the corner.
Too cautious, huh? Did he not consider how he would make contact with the outside after completing his mission? And now he is just a beggar, not even a single gold coin left for me. Jimmy cursed inwardly and looked up at the third floor, where Big Chin was lying honestly on the floor, and not on the bed, which was good and obedient.
Soon after 2:00 a.m., Jimmy encountered tonight's third uninvited guest. This person, like the first one, did a lap outside before choosing his point of entry. Since the back door was ajar, he gave up after trying it, since such doors were very likely traps.
His final goal was the kitchen, entering through the back utility room door, and from the kitchen into the first-floor living room. Unfortunately, in the dark, he was as blind as anyone else and didn't notice Jimmy hiding. Also, his reactions were not on par with Harry's earlier, which was not very interesting; Jimmy dispatched him with ease.
After searching the body, Jimmy got a gold coin and nothing else. He begrudgingly pocketed it. This coin was probably his backup or intended for the cleaner to collect the body afterward, but he wouldn't be needing it anymore, it belonged to Jimmy now.
The phone rang, a call from Charles. "Jimmy, how are you doing over there?"
Jimmy, "Nothing major, it's safe now. What's up, calling me at this hour?"
Charles, "Yeah, just to let you know, SOG is coming over from Louisiana. The plane has landed, and they should reach your position in about half an hour at the earliest."
Jimmy, "SOG? Your internal HRT unit?"
Charles, "Yes, a temporary group has come, five SOG members, plus a medic; they'll take over after they arrive, and they'll execute the escort to the courthouse tomorrow."
Jimmy, "That's great, I can get a bit of rest too."
Charles, "I've given them your number, they'll contact you. Take care."
Jimmy, "OK, you take care too."
Having used Heart Eye for almost 12 hours straight, Jimmy would be lying if he said he wasn't tired. But thanks to Black Rainbow's boost, his spiritual power was still growing, and his physical responses were increasing too, so he could keep going, even until morning if necessary. Now that someone was coming to replace him in over half an hour, it was even better; rest was always welcome.
About 40 minutes later, Jimmy's phone rang; answering it, "Agent Yang? This is Court Police Paul Fleet, we're almost there."
Jimmy, "Welcome, guys. The area around the villa is currently safe; come on through the front entrance."
Jimmy went to the door and only after two cars appeared outside did he turn on the porch light and opened the front door. The cars didn't stop in the garage but instead pulled up beside the main gate, not obstructing the view, and from inside the house, they could see the vehicles, ensuring no one interfered. Their parking location was quite good, indicating they had solid habits.
Six people got out of the two SUVs, fully armed, with bullet-proof vests, rifles, and pistols, magazines attached to their vests, and the Court Police badge hanging around their necks.
The leader came forward and shook hands with Jimmy, "Paul Fleet. Thank you, Agent Yang. Sorry, we had other assignments earlier and couldn't get here sooner, leaving you on your own for so long."
Jimmy, "Don't mention it, let's go inside and talk."
Jimmy led them inside, and as they saw the four corpses lying in the living room, their faces turned sour. Paul looked at Jimmy, "Is this from tonight?"
Jimmy nodded, "Yes, from dusk till now. It's been strange today; these people came in one by one, whereas last night it was a six-man squad that burst in. Court Police Charles hasn't gotten the latest intel yet. Since I was here alone, it wasn't convenient to take prisoners, so I had to kill them all."
After hanging up with Charles, two more unlucky ones came in together, and Jimmy took them down right in the living room. These assassins did not have night vision goggles, which baffled Jimmy; if they had decided on a night attack, a set of night vision goggles wouldn't cost much, just a few tens of thousands on the black market. Could they really not afford it?
Of course, Jimmy searched them as well, making sure to wear gloves to avoid leaving his fingerprints on them. The loot wasn't much; it was clear they did not carry personal items or cash, coins, and such when doing their job. After taking down four people, he only got two gold coins.
