Jimmy didn't know if it was an issue with the aerial photos, but he noticed that the plants near the Red River were greener than those further away. It wasn't apparent from just looking at the riverside alone, but when compared with other regions north of Tata Town that were further from the Red River, this area seemed quite abnormal.
Following the color variation in the green plants on the photo, Jimmy sketched a new diagram. Though not circular, one could still make out a rough fan shape, with the center point at the bend of the Red River.
Jimmy placed the pen on the photo and sighed deeply as he sat in his chair.
"It's over, this case is unsolvable. This round of aerial photos completely affirmed Jimmy's theory. These incidents are most likely paranormal. From the area already marked, there is definitely something particularly troublesome at the bend in the Red River," he thought.
It would have been better to have aerial photos from a few months earlier for comparison, but unfortunately, that wasn't an option.
Jimmy glanced at the police station. Chad hadn't returned yet, probably because Jimmy was still there. Jimmy picked up the phone and redialed Agent Ray's number.
Ray, "Jimmy, have you received the photos?"
Jimmy, "Yes, I have. Thanks, Ray."
Ray, "Good to hear. Is there anything else?"
Jimmy, "I have another small request. Could you check if there are any previous satellite photos of Tata Town?"
Ray, "Aren't the aerial photos enough?"
Jimmy, "I just want to make a comparison. There definitely weren't aerial photos before, so satellite photos might be easier to handle."
Ray, "I'll check, but don't get your hopes up. It's quite remote there."
Jimmy, "Thanks, Ray."
Poor Ray, still plagued by calls from Jimmy even while recovering at home. He sighed, asked his family to bring his laptop over, and accessed some files with his sufficient privileges, as Jimmy wasn't an agent in the Dallas office and didn't have an account to use.
After packing up, Jimmy said goodbye to Sheriff Chad and left the police station to return to the motel.
Jimmy sat on the bed tidying up his equipment, leaning against the headboard. He finally decided to call Roland, thankfully having exchanged phone numbers with him on his last visit, which saved him another drive.
Roland, "This is Idris."
Jimmy, "Roland, this is Jimmy."
Roland, "Jimmy, what's the matter?"
Jimmy, "Well, I need your help. I'm on the border of Texas and Oklahoma, where there've been several disappearances. But according to the current clues, there might be paranormal events occurring here."
Roland, "A Demon?"
Jimmy, "It's unclear; I can only pinpoint the epicenter of the paranormal activity."
Roland, "Jimmy, you can't rely on others for everything. Try handling it yourself, remember what we talked about? Your 'Flash Spirit' should be able to do it."
Jimmy was at a loss for words. He couldn't just handle such cases alone for the first time.
Jimmy, "But I'm not yet clear about what exactly is going on here."
Roland, "If it's dangerous, call for official support. The FBI has its own teams for dealing with these kinds of events."
Jimmy, "Alright, I'll give it a try. Goodbye, Roland."
Roland, "Goodbye."
Roland hung up the phone, looking at the abandoned house before him. It had been a long time since his last visit, which was with Jack Chambers when they had come from the Dark Tower World to this world.
Putting away his phone, Roland straightened his trench coat and holster, stepping into the long-abandoned building.
Jimmy hung up the phone and pulled out a map from his briefcase. Despite the inaccurate map provided by Sheriff Chad, Jimmy marked the unusual range discovered in the photos, examining it closely. He decided to check out the bend in the Red River in person the next day.
After locking the door, Jimmy took a shower and went to bed early, watching TV while waiting for sleep to come.
In the middle of the night, Jimmy was awoken once again by a panic attack. This time, he had some experience. He grabbed the revolver from under his pillow and activated his "Heart Eye" to check the surroundings. Still, he found nothing; the neighboring rooms and the hallway in front remained quiet, with no abnormalities.
Jimmy sat up, recalling his location, then looked northward. The day had basically confirmed the occurrence of paranormal events; thus, the current panic could be explained. The source of the panic must be at the north side, at the bend in the Red River.
