North America Gunman Detective

Chapter 612: Investigation_4

Jimmy hadn't paid attention to the surrounding environment before, but as he got closer, he noticed the problem. The house where the crime occurred was a suburban house, surrounded by similar detached houses. Many houses are separated by large areas of woods, showing that the environment here is very good, but it is definitely not a wealthy area, more like it's close to the countryside.

In such an environment, if something happens inside a house, it's indeed very likely that people nearby wouldn't notice at all. Similarly, due to its remote location, it's impossible to have comprehensive surveillance here, which explains why the field office here has no clues.

Because he had called in advance, two field office detectives were already at the detached house when Jimmy arrived at the crime scene.

Jimmy smiled and got out of the car, "Manhattan office, Jimmy Yang."

The older detective stepped forward and shook hands with Jimmy, "Hudson office, Bill Randall, this is Carlos Rodriguez. Thank you for coming personally."

Although Jimmy looked younger than both of them, Randall absolutely had no intention of underestimating Jimmy and was very friendly.

Jimmy: "Thank you, let's go in and take a look."

Rodriguez stepped forward, took out a key, and opened the door, "Since the murder occurred, this place hasn't been touched. The landlord has already been contacted, and he won't be listing or renting the house for now."

Following Rodriguez in, Jimmy had his Heart Eye activated. From the outside, the house didn't show anything unusual, but he noticed a problem upon entering the living room.

The door was located in the middle, leading to a hallway. Further ahead were the stairs, with the living room on the left and the kitchen and dining room on the right. The positions of the victims were marked with white lines, of course, the bodies had been removed, but one could still discern their positional relationships.

Additionally, due to a lack of cleaning, dried blood stains remained at the scene. The smell in the room was extremely unpleasant, even after several days. Despite it being winter with relatively low temperatures, the decaying smell was still very pungent.

Jimmy noticed the problem because, the moment he entered, he felt the temperature seemed to be lower than outside. However, he didn't find the usual mist-like presence with his Heart Eye, which severely affected his judgment. He used to rely heavily on Heart Eye Vision to notice anomalies, but now he was uncertain.

Jimmy switched back and forth between normal sight and Heart Eye, put on gloves, squatted down to inspect the dust on the ground, and observed some blood stains. He stood up to examine the positions of several victims and began simulating the assailant's route at the scene. No matter how he tried, there was no way to smoothly eliminate five people like this.

Bill Randall watched Jimmy moving back and forth in the living room, his hands making various motions, clearly understanding what he was doing, and couldn't help but nod. His reputation preceded him, as Jimmy certainly had a knack for this. Though they hadn't worked together before, and Randall wasn't familiar with Jimmy's investigation habits, now observing his actions, it was clear that Jimmy belonged to the experiential school of thinking like a perpetrator.

He didn't disturb Jimmy, pulling back Rodriguez a bit to give Jimmy more space.

After several rounds of simulation, Jimmy had to give up. Even with multiple people acting, it wouldn't work; there's no way to achieve such smoothness. He turned to Randall beside him and shook his head, "No, I can't construct the perpetrator's trajectory. There are still many mysteries here to investigate."

Randall: "Yes, we have the same results here."

Jimmy: "I'll check out other areas." After saying that, he began investigating the entire house, although more for appearances.

When he stood outside the room, he felt the temperature clearly rising. There's definitely a problem with this house, but he didn't know when more anomalies would appear.

For investigating such incidents, it's better to consult Father Rodney, as their people are likely more professional than Jimmy.

He took out his phone and dialed Father Rodney's number, and soon the priest answered, "Jimmy, what's the matter?"

Jimmy: "Father Rodney, are you available now? There's a matter that needs discussing with you."

Father Rodney: "Sorry, I'm unavailable these days. I'm not in New York; I'm in Middleton."

Jimmy: "Dealing with something then? When can you return?"

Father Rodney: "I'll inform you if I return."
