Bang, Bang, Bang!

BOOOM!

The balls of lightning crashed into Jim with thunderous bangs and then detonated all at once with so much force that the ground beneath his feet shuddered and trembled as if an earthquake had struck.

Max, standing at the entrance to the room, had a slight frown on his face. He felt the urge to leap straight into the fight but held his composure, though worry gnawed at him as he wondered whether his friend was okay. The woman's stunt had been intense, far beyond what he expected.

"That should deal with…"

"Not enough, bitch!" Jim roared as he burst from the smoke that had enclosed him after the lightning ball detonation. His fangs were bared, and some of his scales had peeled off with blood dripping from his hands, but he didn't care. He appeared directly in front of Ava, almost catching her off guard, his palms open and ready to grab her face.

"Don't freaking touch me!" she shouted, twisting her body on one foot, spinning around, letting Jim's claws skim past her face. Her back was turned to him as she slammed her foot into the ground with all her might, chunks of flooring bursting up from the force of the impact.

Lightning sizzled around her elbows as she swung them backward, driving her fists into Jim's abdomen with full force. The impact knocked the air out of his lungs, sending him sliding backward in pain.

He fell to his knees, gasping for breath, but Ava didn't give him a moment's respite. She darted forward, lightning crackling around her toes, swinging in an uppercut-style strike that smashed into Jim's jaw with unrelenting force.

Blood shot from his mouth as his entire body was lifted and slammed into the wall behind him. Max remained in one spot, eyes darting around as he carefully analyzed the clash, taking in every movement, every strike, and every advantage.

'Hmm…' Max thought inwardly, frowning. 'Yes, he grew stronger and faster after his transformation, but it's like he threw caution to the wind and just charges recklessly. Even with healing, there's always a limit, fool. He's never trained in any formal fighting technique, relying solely on his boosted physical abilities. Meanwhile, Ava seems well-versed in combat and can actually strategize on the fly.'

'Her power isn't overwhelming, and she isn't physically exceptional, but she uses lightning to coat different parts of her body. That enhances both speed and strength, and with her technique, she can go toe-to-toe with Jim. Interesting. But why someone this capable didn't fight off the Dark forces? There's more here than I know.'

"AHHHH!" Jim roared as he burst from the wall he had been hurled into. In his hands, he carried a chunk of the wall, hurling it with all his might toward Ava.

She sidestepped with impressive speed, letting the slab smash into another wall and crumble into stone debris.

But Ava's focus faltered for just a moment—that was all Jim needed. He dashed forward, appearing in front of her, a punch streaking toward her at full speed.

She spun around, lightning crackling around her knuckles as she swung them forward, meeting Jim's punch dead in the center. The collision of force from the duo sent a shockwave blasting outward, rattling the walls and shaking the bed at the back of the room.

"Impressive, again!" Jim shouted as he swung his second fist. Ava met it with equal force, and from there, it became a battle of speed, strength, and raw power, escalating into a more brutal and flashy clash.

Though intense, it was not something Max could not follow. His eyes darted across the room, keenly observing every move, every strike. To any ordinary person, it would have appeared as nothing more than a dazzling display of blue sparks as the two dashed from one end of the room to the other in mere seconds.

Punch for punch, kick for kick, the combatants tore through the room. The ground beneath them cracked and burst outward at intervals. No doubt, anyone on the lower floor could feel the tremors from their clash. Shockwaves erupted intermittently, loud bangs rang out, and debris flew across the room, denting the walls and furniture.

"AHHH!" Ava roared as she swiftly ducked, avoiding a claw strike aimed at her head. Her face was bloodied, streaks of blood running from the corners of her mouth and nose, but she did not care. Lightning crackled intensely around her fists as she drove both into Jim's abdomen with all the force she could muster.

Time seemed to pause for a moment. Jim's mouth puffed with the air he tried to hold, and it felt like the world stood still. Then…

BANG!

A thunderous explosion shook the walls as blood sprayed from Jim's mouth in waves. His body rocketed through a wall, hurtling down the corridor where they had fought the twenty men, smashing into another wall at the far end. Max stood frozen, mouth slightly agape, unable to process the sheer force of the attack.

He quickly glanced at Ava, who was huffing and panting, shoulders rising and falling, but still standing strong and unwavering. Then he turned back to Jim, who lay face down, bleeding yet conscious, struggling to rise.

'What the fuck just happened?' Max exclaimed inwardly in pure shock.

"He won't be getting up anytime soon. My ability has the properties of stinging, stunning, and paralyzing an opponent if they are repeatedly hit," Ava's voice rang out suddenly, making Max spin around—but she was nowhere in sight. Then a loud bang echoed through the room.

'What the? Where is she?'

"And now, it's your freaking turn!" she roared, appearing in the air directly above Max with a glowing orb of lightning crackling ominously in her hands.
