Of course, it's hard to bear.
His most beloved daughter took on this inhuman, corpse-like appearance to help him defeat his enemies. What father wouldn't be heartbroken?
And post-war, not only could he not grant her power and glory, but he also had to send her to the wilderness.
But there was no choice. In the Human Clan, Nu Ba was neither the first nor would she be the last.
Every individual's strength had to serve the entire race. Only when the Human Clan firmly established itself in the Primordial realm would such tragedies cease to occur in the future.
This was the will of the Human Clan.
Nu Ba stood there dazed, like a person lost, unable to find the north, much less the way home.
Her consciousness was so eroded by the laws and time that it became indistinct; the only thing she could remember was the last order given by her father.
Sealing or killing Nu Ba—either could be done by Nezha, but he wouldn't. The true enemy wasn't this so-called 'nobody' of the Human Clan, but those behind her.
He had come prepared.
Nezha summoned the Xuanyuan Sword and placed it before him; the humane aura gathered, as Nu Ba's blank eyes from afar gradually filled with emotions. She turned and fixed her gaze on the Xuanyuan Sword in Nezha's hand.
Then she walked toward him, step by step, carrying terrifying high temperatures.
Nezha didn't attack but quietly watched as the humane aura from the Xuanyuan Sword began to suppress the laws spreading from Nu Ba.
A flicker of clarity returned to Nu Ba's eyes before she suddenly knelt down, clinging tightly to Nezha's legs.
"Father."
Nezha:...
She was awake, although only barely.
Nu Ba's once dazed expression became complicated; she wanted to cry and vent her grievances, but sadly she no longer had tears.
Nezha lovingly reached out to pat Nu Ba's head, finding it somewhat hot to the touch, then took out a peach blossom hairpin and pinned it in her hair.
"Obedient girl, let's go home."
"Home?"
Nezha nodded and took out a ren water peach wood coffin from his sleeve.
Nu Ba didn't resist; instead, she smiled and said, "Father, let's go home."
Having said so, she released Nezha and lay quietly inside.
Nezha looked at the obedient Nu Ba with a heavy heart and waved to close the coffin. Twelve deep cold ice nails, condensed by the Xuanming Ancestor Witch, embedded one by one, slowing down the erosion inside to a negligible degree.
The bastard, who did this?
Don't let me catch you, or I'll skin you alive!
He put away the Xuanyuan Sword, lifted the coffin with one hand, and appeared in an instant where Xuanzang and his disciples were being protected by the Bodhisattva Guanyin.
The others had run fast and were not Nu Ba's main targets, they seemed miserable but uninjured. Sun Wukong, however, was in bad shape, with both hands and a leg mostly crippled, his monkey fur nearly all burnt off, seemingly evolving into a human.
Sun Wukong was very miserable, but he was still happy to see his senior brother.
"Hahaha, I told you my senior brother is mighty, how could he not handle that woman!"
Bajie and Sha Wujing stood silent. They used to think Sun Wukong was too overbearing, but in moments of danger, he truly dared to risk his life for their sake.
No matter what happened before, the two had come to respect him.
Xuanzang, more sensitive, felt boundless sorrow seeing Sun Wukong still capable of laughter, suddenly kneeling to pay him great homage.
"Please, Bodhisattva and Immortal Master, save Wukong, even at the cost of my own life."
"Yes, Bodhisattva, Immortal Master, please save my senior brother!"
"Yes, yes, I'll do anything if senior brother can return to normal, even if it means becoming the Old Pig."
Sun Wukong, amid the pretense of strength, was deeply moved by their genuine feelings; his sacrifice was not in vain.
"Stop joking; how could this broken body be saved? After I'm gone, the journey west will rely on you, my junior brothers."
Xuanzang immediately contradicted Sun Wukong.
"The four of us, master and disciples, seek scriptures in Western Heaven; how could we abandon you on the way? Even if it's unhealable, I'll carry you to the Great Leiyin Temple."
Sun Wukong was genuinely moved, and now, physically beaten, he was in a vulnerable and sensitive state. Xuanzang dared to say such words before the Bodhisattva Guanyin, proving he was earnest in his intentions.
Feeling something welled up in his eyes, he felt ashamed that, as the Great Sage Equalling Heaven, he would cry at the scene.
He could only act nonchalant: "You monk, even without me, it's a struggle, let alone taking me along."
Nezha glanced a couple of times at Guanyin.
Satisfied now?
Guanyin nodded with a smile, finally seeing the group taking shape.
Only then did Nezha speak.
"Wukong, it seems you've met many reliable friends in your travels."
Sun Wukong quickly nodded.
"Absolutely, absolutely."
"Rest assured, everyone, as Wukong's senior brother, I cannot allow him to live in this broken body."
Repairing Sun Wukong's injuries wasn't hard; even a capable immortal could do it. The difficult part was healing him without damaging his foundation and potential.
The importance of the Dao Body cannot be overstated. In the original timeline, Nezha's lotus avatar seemed powerful, but its potential was tightly restricted, bound to reach its limit. Saint Zhunti severed an arm to suppress the Demon Buddha, and his path was also at a dead end without returning to reattach it.
The gods on the Investiture of the Gods list seemed to enjoy reviving repeatedly, but bodies forged by merit could only traverse the Incense Fire Divine Dao, rapidly gaining cultivation but hollow, unworthy in Nezha's eyes.
Thus, the Dao Body's importance to immortals is clear.
Nezha signaled the people around to step back, placing Sun Wukong on a platform. He gestured over Sun Wukong's body, and sharp Sword Qi started to slice through, removing all the carbonized flesh.
Using force to dispel the laws would be too strenuous, so he opted for direct physical slicing.
Sun Wukong grimaced in pain but remained silent; soon, his entire monkey body was a bloody mess, white bones exposed.
Nezha took out a Divine Stone leftover from when Nuwa mended the heavens, directing it at Sun Wukong; golden light shone as Sun Wukong's form rapidly shrank and vanished into the Nuwa Stone.
He opened a spatial channel and sent the stone deep under the Qingyang Fusang Tree on the Three Immortals Island.
Since Sun Wukong belonged to the metal element, Nezha used earth, wood, and vitality to nourish him. In due time, Sun Wukong would naturally return unharmed.
"Worry not, everyone. In as little as half a month, or as much as half a year, Wukong will heal and return."
Xuanzang and his disciples immediately expressed gratitude.
"Amitabha Buddha, your great kindness, Master Xuanzang will forever remember."
Nezha nodded; this Jin Can Zi's hundred lifetimes of reincarnation were truly effective. Previously, he spoke of liberating all beings, yet it was merely empty talk, for he never knew what was truly needed below.
Only by truly experiencing it, becoming an ordinary person, could he see parents in the elderly and children in the afflicted as his descendants...
Such individuals could genuinely understand the turmoil and pain of all beings, seeking real ways to save them.
Seated on the Cloud Platform, pronouncing to save all beings was merely his version of salvation.
Did all beings need such salvation? Was such salvation even correct?
These are questions to be asked.
Understanding all this and exploring the true suffering of the human world, this is the meaning behind Jin Can Zi's journey for scriptures.
The suffering of beings is endless; thinking to save the world with scriptures alone is laughable.
After handling everything, it was again time to part ways. The master and disciples continued their journey, while Guanyin seemed to leave yet still watched over them, the matter with Nu Ba sounding a large warning to her.
The journey was indeed fraught with peril.
Nezha then left for the Taiyin Star. As the counterpart of the Sun Star, the spiritual energy here was highly suitable for alleviating Nu Ba's current condition.
Upon reaching Taiyin Star, the welcoming party was Taiyin Star's second rabbit, the Jade Rabbit.
"Emperor, my master said feel free."
"Then I'd like a spicy rabbit head first."
Jade Rabbit:!!!
Doom! This Emperor's coming for me!
Rabbits are so cute, why eat them?
Jade Rabbit crouched defensively, hugging her head with both hands, her large ears drooping to stick against her scalp, in a look of invisibility.
"E-E-E-Emperor, I've lived too long, my meat is old and tough, not tasty!"
