The Investiture: Unlimited Blade Works Nezha

Chapter 459: The Reincarnation of Jin Can Zi

Lady Yin couldn't help but glare at Nezha upon hearing this. "How can someone your age still bully children?" she quickly comforted, "It's okay, if he doesn't want you, Grandma will. Come, I've saved up lots of fun things for you to play with during this time."

Nezha chuckled sheepishly. If a child doesn't play now, it won't be as fun when they grow up.

This time, the Dharma assembly at Lingshan wasn't much different from the last one, except for the addition of debates, teachings, and other new elements, providing a stage for the younger generation to display their talents.

A healthy influx of new blood is a symbol of an organization's prosperity. Lingshan, as a force under the Saints' authority, naturally has no shortage of outstanding disciples from the new generation, most of whom are under various Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Some of the more notable ones come from the Heavenly Dragon Eight Divisions, a Jin Naluo, the new generation's Buddhist disciples Jiang Long and Fu Hu, and Ri Guang and Moonlight from under Puxian.

The most remarkable among them are Old Li's second disciple Jin Can Zi and Future Buddha Maitreya's disciple Child Huang Mei. Jin Can Zi and Huang Mei have similar backgrounds, and the grudges of their elders don't affect them. Both love Buddhist law, so Huang Mei has become Jin Can Zi's new friend, getting rid of Red Boy's entanglements.

However, precisely because they are all wise individuals, their understanding of Buddhist law, initially slightly different, eventually diverged onto different paths. Smart people share a common flaw, which is arrogance and stubbornness. Now, none of them are willing to yield, waiting for this Dharma assembly to debate and see who comes out on top in front of all the Buddhas.

This conference is the first grand event held on Lingshan after the Saints left Primordial, serving as a declaration to the outside world that even without the two Saints, Lingshan remains prosperous and not to be underestimated. Therefore, those traveling outside or establishing their own sects with ties to the Buddhist Sect have basically all been notified.

Nezha met many Arhat Bodhisattvas whom he hadn't seen before, such as the mother of the Mao Ri Star Official, Vilanpo Bodhisattva. Although she is only a Bodhisattva, her cultivation is not much inferior to Zhen Yuanzi.

Then there's Great Sun Tathagata Lu Ya, who has been constantly traveling abroad. This one racks up massive debts and usually keeps a low profile, afraid of being targeted by the Heavenly Dao and being dealt a black hand.

Also present are the original Western disciples under the Saints, Maitreya, Dashizhi, the Pharmacist, Ksitigarbha, and others Nezha has never seen before, such as Xu Kong Zang, Long Shu, Bao Ji, and so on.

The one Nezha is most familiar with is Ksitigarbha, as they've both worked in the underworld and on Lingshan and are considered colleagues. They've collaborated a few times and can be counted as good friends.

Nezha reached out and took out a piece of jerky, shaking it. The big white dog Di Ting came over at the scent, circling Nezha twice to earn the beloved jerky.

"Good doggy, looks like you haven't forgotten me."

Di Ting nodded obediently on the outside but couldn't help but grumble internally. Forgetting the first person who wanted to stew him? Who would dare?

Ksitigarbha still cherished Di Ting, knowing Nezha's fondness for teasing dogs, he had to step in to help Di Ting.

"Amitabha, Junior Brother, it's been a long time, your demeanor is more impressive than ever."

Nezha nodded in agreement, truly a disciple with the highest comprehension under the Saint's teachings.

"Amitabha, Senior Brother, your judgment is indeed accurate."

Ksitigarbha originally thought Nezha would exchange some pleasantries, but Nezha was straightforward and unapologetic.

"Junior Brother, your childlike innocence surpasses mine."

High emotional intelligence: "Childlike innocence surpasses mine."

Low emotional intelligence: "Shameless, has a thick skin."

The Dharma assembly had not yet officially begun, so Nezha pulled Ksitigarbha to a corner, saying, "Senior Brother, I recently acquired a rare breed of large dog, could I trouble you to appraise it?"

As a well-known dog lover in Primordial, Ksitigarbha was very curious upon hearing this. For something to be considered rare by Nezha, it must indeed be uncommon.

Nezha, seeing Ksitigarbha's expression, satisfied his vanity slightly, then waved his sleeve to bring forth a three-headed monster dog, whose large size and ferocious appearance emanated a strong aura of death in stark contrast to Di Ting's auspicious beast presence.

For Ksitigarbha, who has resided in the depths of the underworld for years, this deathly aura had no impact—instead, it felt familiar. The dog's appearance was very different from any he's seen before, indeed piquing his interest, making him examine it from all angles.

Ksitigarbha didn't resist Cerberus's style; wrathful Buddha forms exist too. In Buddhist perspectives, such a ferocious appearance is a symbol of sternness.

A three-headed being is a classic representation in Buddhism.

Many Buddhas and Bodhisattvas deliberately maintain a fierce Dharma Form to uphold their authority.

Di Ting, watching Ksitigarbha, felt uneasy, thinking, "So, caretakers, love does fade, right?"

The two dog lovers were engaged in conversation when a Bodhisattva approached to greet them; it was Vilanpo Bodhisattva. Although Nezha outranked her at Lingshan, Primordial respects power, so Nezha interacted with her as an equal.

The reason she approached was simple: her son, the Mao Ri Star Official, worked under Nezha.

In front of unfamiliar elders, Nezha was very courteous. Combined with his intention to establish a connection, their conversation was both satisfying and pleasant.

Nezha then took the opportunity to inquire about another matter.

"When the Great Venerable waged war against the Demon World, the Demon Lord once controlled the Ancient Evil Insect, the Multi-eyed Golden Centipede, to guard the pass. This infamous insect devoured countless Immortals, and was ultimately injured during the battle between the Great Venerable and the Demon Lord. Even a centipede doesn't die easily; I heard it has recovered some level of cultivation and is entrenched in the West?"
