The Investiture: Unlimited Blade Works Nezha

Chapter 440 Primordial Infinite Moon Reading_2

Nezha waved his hands and created a new world within the dreamscape. In this dream, Nezha's power was no longer constrained by reality. The entire world rapidly took shape based on Nezha's perception—Galaxy, Earth, and seven Dragon Balls—just enough to spark Shi Hou's yearning for the outside world.

Next came the selection of 'players.'

Unlike certain transmigrators in past lives who, early on, had to rely on deception to trick 'players' into entering their worlds, Nezha didn't bother with such reasoning. The Great Dao of Dream slowly unfolded, revealing numerous colorful lines densely connecting countless beings across the Primordial world surrounding the original World Tree visible in Nezha's vision.

With a glance from his Dharma Eye, Nezha gleaned the basic information of the dreamers. His hands shifted in Dharma Seals, eliminating a great number of pink-colored lines—first to be disqualified were those having 'Spring Dreams.'

Dreaming about women? No big aspirations.

With a second shift of the Dharma Seal, beings with incomplete Spiritual Wisdom were eliminated.

With a third shift, those entangled in chaotic cause and effect were disqualified.

Then, Nezha selected ten thousand NPCs and linked their dreams to the Dragon Ball world he had created. Among them were individuals from the Demon Clan, Human Clan, and Dragon Clan. Finally, he began picking the elite players.

Yang Jian, Jin Can Zi, Red Boy, Roc, The Immortal of Colossal Spirit, Jin Jiao and Silver Horn, Jade Rabbit, Master Huang Long, Deng Chanyu, and, lastly, himself.

To ensure fairness, every character's base attributes were set within a certain range, modified by their real-world traits to gain random characteristics in the dream—essentially, it was like a large-scale online game.

Nezha spent quite some effort finalizing everything, but he was satisfied with the result. That night, the light of Taiyin Star bathed the Primordial realm, spreading the dreamy power.

"The moon is so round tonight!"

"Yes, tonight's moon is so beautif…ZZZZZ."

Countless beings fell into dreams as Taiyin Star rose, though this power wasn't irresistible. For example, Yang Jian and others—upon realizing it was Nezha's doing—didn't resist.

In Huaguo Mountain's Shuilian Cave, Shi Hou also silently entered his dreams.

Primordial indeed has its own version of Infinite Moon Reading!

...

Shi Hou groggily fell asleep, and when he woke up, he found out he was completely bald!

He instinctively looked at his body and saw only one tail hanging behind him. Moving his body revealed it was nowhere near as nimble as before. His mind flooded with question marks—wasn't I sleeping in Huaguo Mountain? Where did this place come from?

But driven by his natural curiosity, he was quickly captivated by the novelty around him. Bears, people with wings, and other unfamiliar creatures wandered the streets. After staring for a while, his stomach began to grumble, and the many foods he'd never seen before dazzled his eyes.

After observing for some time, he realized you needed a thing called money to eat.

Where did money come from? Stealing and robbing weren't in line with his Monkey King ethos. Helpless, he continued down the road until he saw a man holding a paper tube shouting, "The World's Number One Martial Arts Tournament is now open! Martial artists, sign up now! Participate for amazing benefits—free food and lodging during the competition! The champion wins not only the title of 'World's Number One' but also a prize of one million dollars!"

Shi Hou was already tempted when he heard about free food and lodging. By the time he heard the words 'World's Number One,' excitement coursed through him—wasn't that even cooler than being Monkey King?

I'm going to become the World's Number One!

Shi Hou quickly squeezed his way forward to register, waiting in line for ages until it was finally his turn.

"Name?"

Shi Hou: ???

"Name!"

"Monkey King."

The staff glanced at Shi Hou a few times.

"This name has already been registered."

"Ah?"

"Pick another one."

"Shi Hou?"

The staff wrote down Shi Hou.

"Age?"

"Ten…ten years old?"

The staff rolled his eyes and silently wrote sixteen years, then scribbled a basic sketch of Shi Hou, handed him the qualification certificate and number tag, and said, "Go on in, silly kid."

Shi Hou didn't care about the staff's words, gleefully flipping through his booklet and chuckling while looking at his portrait.

Entering the venue, Shi Hou followed the crowd and quickly located the dining hall and accommodations. Though naturally intelligent and extraordinarily sharp, he hadn't fully shed his monkey tendencies. Watching others, he quickly adapted to everything here.

Upon arriving at the cafeteria, his eyes widened. Back in Huaguo Mountain, he only ate fruits, but here were bountiful feasts, none of which he'd ever seen before. Meat held far more energy than fruits, so Shi Hou eagerly began wolfing down food—everything was delicious!

And so, the day passed, and the next day, the World's Number One Martial Arts Tournament officially began!

Shi Hou stood holding a piece of unidentified beast leg meat from the cafeteria, watching the match between two combatants on stage. "Match" was an understatement—one was a three-meter-tall lizard-like creature with green skin and wings on its back, while the other was a giant gray bear wearing clothes.

The match started. The giant bear roared and poised for a heavy punch, but the green lizard opened its mouth and started spewing fire. Flames roared, and the once unfamiliar giant bear quickly roasted to familiarity.

The green lizard gave its opponent a disdainful look. "Hmph, hasn't the era changed yet?"

Watching the match, Shi Hou scratched his head—was this really martial arts? It was nothing like his fights with his monkey clan.

But novel spectacles emerged one after another, giving Shi Hou quite a show—there were real wrestling fights, others resorting to biting, stinky fart attacks, and even one three-eyed contender unleashing dogs!

"Contestant number ten, please prepare to enter the stage. Contestant number ten!"

Shi Hou looked at his tag—exactly the number ten. After eagerly waiting for ages, it was finally his turn. He dashed to the back stage to prepare, facing a two-meter-tall big man as his opponent.

The big man glanced at the scrawny Shi Hou, clearly not taking him seriously. Shi Hou quickly picked up on the contempt but wasn't offended—he still found everything here fascinating.

The two stepped onto the stage, and the match began.

The big man lunged forward—don't judge him by his size; he was surprisingly nimble. Shi Hou's attention wandered to the audience below, and the man's sudden attack startled him. Instinctively, he activated Freedom Extreme Intent, thin layers of aura shrouding him. Just as the attack was about to land, Shi Hou anticipated it and dodged at a perilously close distance.

For the first time, Shi Hou was pitted against a human opponent. His mindset was far more playful than competitive.

"Hehe, missed me."

The big man didn't lose spirit, convinced he had been close—next time, he would hit for sure!

Reality proved the big man wrong. As time passed, Shi Hou adapted to Freedom Extreme Intent in combat, responding with increasing ease. Each attack seemed close, yet none could touch Shi Hou.

After a string of attacks, the big man achieved zero damage but exhausted himself fully, angrily shouting, "If you've got guts, stop running!"

Shi Hou chuckled, "If you've got guts, come and catch me!"

The big man realized he couldn't deal with the nimble kid. Changing tactic, he decided since the brat only evaded, he must be weak in offense. If he stayed put and waited, victory would still be his.

So, he stopped chasing and began resting in place.

Shi Hou saw his opponent frozen, and slowly felt bored. It was his first human match, but he indeed lacked the skill for structured attacks. Still, every monkey has one singular technique—stealing peaches.

Moments later, the big man's face turned purple as he clutched his crotch, speechless. The move earned a collective chill among male spectators.

Shi Hou, unburdened by concepts of right and wrong, only thought—I won, and that's that.

The host awkwardly stepped onto the stage to announce: "Winner, Shi Hou!"

Shi Hou was elated. It was his first victory, not surrounded by monkeys but a mix of strange people and creatures. Naturally, a being like him belonged front and center on stage.

The monkey was truly strong. Despite his initial attributes being unimpressive, his Freedom Extreme Intent plus monkey stealing peaches combo let him breeze through the preliminary stage into the finals, earning himself a nickname—Stealing Peach Immortal.

Both "Stealing Peach" and "Immortal" were words Shi Hou liked, so when combined, he liked them even more.
