With no other choice, the eldest brother Laozi used Merit to become the second Saint, and since the Three Pure Ones shared intertwined Qi Fortune, it wasn't long before the other two also chose to achieve Sainthood through Merit.
This suddenly put immense, unspoken pressure on the other three. The two Western figures clearly also sensed this invisible weight. Although both of them could eventually achieve Sainthood by continued cultivation and relying on Merit, time was not on their side. With no alternative, they chose to "loan" their way to Sainthood.
Thus, only one being in all the realms was left possessing the Hongmeng Purple Qi but had not yet become a Saint—the Hong Yun Ancestor. Hong Yun inherently lacked the deep foundation of the Three Pure Ones, and even lagged behind the duo from the West. After acquiring the Hongmeng Purple Qi, he continued procrastinating, leading to an ending everyone already knows about.
The Hongmeng Purple Qi is both a tremendous opportunity and an immense curse. If you fail to ascend, it simply means your blessings are insufficient, and that golden opportunity becomes a harrowing ordeal.
Nezha, now possessing the Hongmeng Purple Qi, doesn't dare expose this fact in the Primordial World. Though he appears to have many friends, should the news spread, he'd surely gain countless more enemies.
In the world of cultivation, days and nights blur. In the blink of an eye, five thousand years had passed.
This debate among four had finally come to an end. The Three Pure Ones, with their deeper foundations, didn't actually need such a long time to comprehend Nezha's Dao Fruit. Most of the time was spent guiding and accommodating Nezha.
Regardless, they felt they gleaned something truly profound from Nezha's Dao Fruit, making the extended time well worth it in their eyes.
As for Nezha, his rewards were even greater. In just a mere thousand years, once he returned to reflect and digest his insights, he would likely face no further bottlenecks in the Daluo Realm.
During this debate, the Three Pure Ones simply observed, memorizing with their minds. Nezha, however, not only observed and remembered, but also took notes. Although he still felt a bit unsatisfied, the Three Pure Ones had certainly been highly accommodating.
Nezha stood up and performed a respectful bow.
"Thank you, Dao Brothers, for your generosity."
Laozi merely smiled and nodded, while Yuanshi Tianzun tilted his head haughtily. Tongtian Sect Master, the more straightforward one, laughed and said, "Ha! What's there to thank? I gained a lot from this as well—once I return, I might take another step forward."
Among the three, Laozi currently had the highest cultivation, with an uncertain path ahead but steadily accumulating his foundation. He could easily achieve Quasi-Saint status when Hong Jun teaches the Dao for the first time.
After the debate, the four began discussing Divine Skills and Magic. Though the Three Pure Ones were far from poor, they weren't exactly rich in terms of Magical Treasures. Most Innate Treasures were either in others' hands or had been appropriated by Hong Jun.
Thus, Divine Skills had become crucial as a means of safeguarding their paths.
Nezha couldn't directly teach them the Immortal Laws of later generations, but he could share certain insights he had personally gained. After all, the Immortal Laws of the future were organized and refined in a highly systematic manner by Saints.
This fresh, novel approach was deeply appealing to the Three Pure Ones. Their method of learning and understanding had always been somewhat scattered and eclectic.
Nezha shared a variety of Divine Skills he had cobbled together and altered, allowing the Three Pure Ones to experiment. Though these techniques might not have practical combat value for the Three Pure Ones, they certainly provided a wealth of inspiration. With some refinement and development, they could become excellent defensive techniques.
Tongtian was clearly a combat enthusiast. After a bit of discussion, he appeared eager to give things a try. Normally, Yuanshi and Laozi wouldn't indulge him in sparring, but now they had a new little brother to intervene.
Nezha was also a combat enthusiast. Back during the Saints Era, Tongtian Sect Master had treated him to bamboo shoot and pork stir-fry. Now that they were both in the Daluo Realm, could Tongtian still treat him in the same manner?
Not a chance! Absolutely impossible!
With just a few exchanged words, the sparring phase began. Laozi and Yuanshi did not intervene. Instead, they spectated with curiosity and interest.
They were all too familiar with their younger brother's abilities, but Nezha, the new participant, was an unknown variable.
Since this was a sparring session, neither used overly powerful Magical Treasures. Nezha casually pulled a Dragon Bone Spear from his sleeve, while Tongtian drew a plain Treasure Sword. Neither wasted words, immediately clashing.
Nezha's close-combat style was heavily influenced by the Witch Clan, focusing on raw power, speed, and technique. All other Divine Spells, Arrays, and Talismans were primarily used to enhance those two attributes. Ultimately, physical attacks were his true trump card for dealing damage.
In contrast, Tongtian Sect Master was different. Although wielding a sword in hand, seemingly a warrior, he was, in truth, more akin to a Demon Warrior. His combat philosophy revolved entirely around the sword,
integrating all Arrays, Divine Skills, and Magic into a unified sword concept. It was as though anything he needed could be transformed into his sword.
He unleashed a torrent of Sword Qi while clashing with Nezha, occasionally setting up small Sword Arrays to amplify the blade's power, or using hand seals to unleash storms of Sword Rain.
Nezha, gripping the Dragon Bone Spear, swung it in a wide arc against the oncoming Sword Qi, obliterating it with sheer force. Meanwhile, Tongtian lunged directly at Nezha's forehead with his blade. Nezha decisively abandoned the spear, forming hand seals to activate his Infinite Dao Domain.
With a mere thought, Nezha inverted their positions, causing Tongtian's blade to pierce empty air. Tongtian did not immediately pursue but paused to examine Nezha's Dao Domain.
"Interesting."
"There's more where that came from."
With a wave of Nezha's arm, Sword Wheels materialized out of thin air, bombarding Tongtian. Tongtian maneuvered skillfully amidst the dense barrage, wielding his sword in one hand and casting spells with the other.
From a distance, Nezha summoned a phantom of the Sunset Bow and loosed a deadly arrow toward Tongtian's head. Tongtian, who had been keeping an eye on Nezha's movements, slashed with his sword at the exact moment the arrow approached, shattering it along with the surrounding Sword Wheels.
Nezha extended his hand and activated the Power of Two Forms. The Yin Fish and Yang Fish swirled around Tongtian, making him feel as though he were caught within a colossal millstone. The two forces simultaneously suppressed and eroded his Mana. Nezha pushed his technique to the limit, forcing Tongtian to face considerable pressure.
Tongtian gripped his sword in both hands, its blade covered in countless glowing Divine Runes. After closely observing for a moment, he struck at a gap within the Power of Two Forms, breaking apart Nezha's Dao Domain with a single slash.
Nezha had already anticipated that he might not be a match for Tongtian. While strong, Tongtian was even stronger. As his Dao Domain shattered, Nezha manipulated the space to shrink the entire domain into a small spatial sphere, trapping Tongtian within and compressing it in his palm. With a forceful squeeze, he unleashed a devastating collapse of space and delivered an all-out blow.
This move caught Tongtian off guard. Though subjected to the crushing force of the collapsing space and Nezha's attack, Tongtian's combat instincts were razor-sharp. Integrating himself with his sword, he burst outward, obliterating every ounce of space in his path and escaping with a streak of cyan light.
Though unharmed, he appeared somewhat disheveled.
Tongtian, slightly inconvenienced but entirely undeterred, was instead exhilarated by the new techniques he'd witnessed. Holding his sword, he cheerfully announced, "Again!" and charged at Nezha.
Undeterred, Nezha summoned the Seven-Colored Divine Light behind him and swept it toward Tongtian. Tongtian momentarily froze as his sword vanished, giving Nezha the opening to thrust his spear mercilessly.
In response, Tongtian rotated his hands, summoning two Thunder Swords that crackled with lightning. Wielding dual blades, he unleashed a barrage of intersecting sword energies, forcing Nezha into a defensive position. Nezha hadn't anticipated that disarming Tongtian would lead to him dual-wielding with Thunder Swords.
The two clashed with myriad techniques, and overall, Nezha remained at a disadvantage. Tongtian was undeniably formidable.
Tongtian was overjoyed. It had been ages since he encountered a worthy opponent. Nezha's versatile techniques, unyielding resilience, and physical dominance thrilled Tongtian.
In conventional combat, Tongtian maintained a decisive upper hand due to his higher cultivation level, granting him a significant advantage. He slashed apart Nezha's Spear Light with one swing of his sword, his excitement uncontainable.
Nezha, recognizing that conventional methods would not secure victory, began channeling immense energy, warping the domain around him. Any external force that touched his domain was converted into his own strength.
