A certain news story went viral—not only in Central City, but across the whole country, even becoming international gossip.

The controversial mayor of Central City had been ambushed and killed, along with many of his men. Whether it was due to political rivalry or vengeance for his son's crimes, no one could really tell.

Except for Jeff, who was eating breakfast in his apartment in Capital City while watching the news on his smartphone.

"Well... that shit bastard brought it on himself."

Vengeful Karma, one of the eternal curses of the Returner Fantasy System, was what Jeff cast on Trud, the shit bastard who was supposed to be Jess's ex-boyfriend in Jeff's original timeline.

It had a rather simple effect: to return an equal amount of vengeance Trud would attempt against Jeff and anyone he cared for or loved.

Considering that Trud's father died along with his men, Jeff figured that Trud might have attempted to get back at him and Jess, targeting their family and friends, which activated Vengeful Karma's effect.

Jeff didn't hold any vengeance against Trud's father or his men, but he wasn't going to feel guilty now—not with the realization that they kept Trud's crimes hidden.

As for those they left behind, they could only blame Trud for what happened.

Or at least that's what Jeff kept telling himself.

Jeff didn't know what Trud's current condition was, but he was sure he was still alive since he could still see his location by checking Trud's Archive using the Returner Fantasy System.

On that note, Jeff had also cast Vengeful Karma on Natan using the Returner Eternal Curse—the reward he got from completing Quest 16: Home, buying Jess's old house from the bank.

He had actually tried to cast it on Dexter, only to receive an error notification, stating the requirement needed to cast the Returner Eternal Curse.

Unlike the usual Returner Curse, which had a temporary effect and could be cast just by knowing the target, the Returner Eternal Curse—which remained effective until the target's death—required the target to surrender to Jeff.

Trud admitted his defeat, and Natan offered her loyalty, which both counted as surrendering to Jeff.

Regardless of the protection brought by Vengeful Karma, it didn't mean Jeff was already done with his vengeance against Trud, or that he trusted Natan not to act against him again.

In regard to Natan, it had already been a day since the encounter with him.

Natan, together with his men and girlfriends, along with nine of Dexter's men, was still being held in the basement of Nubia's apartment building in Capital City—the same apartment building where Jeff, Kris, Marc, and Nubia lived. They were being monitored by guards assigned by Nubia's father, but Jeff still had to check on them from time to time.

Maybe it would have been better to bury some of them in that pit, Jeff thought, remembering that the pit he, Kris, and Marc had dug during the tree-planting event was still left open.

Clearing his mind of unnecessary and dangerous thoughts, Jeff closed the news playing on his smartphone and enjoyed his breakfast of sausages, eggs, and bacon paired with brewed coffee and bread.

He could think about how to deal with and dispose of the annoying shit bastards some other day, since he had a lot of important things to do starting today.

After all, it would be Veena's 18th birthday tomorrow. And with it came something Jeff hadn't seen yet from the Returner Fantasy System...

It didn't get pissed off at me for complaining about the Returner Luck, right? Jeff wondered, thinking that was the reason the Returner Fantasy System was giving two quests at a time.

Quest 23 was rather simple—they just had to celebrate Veena's 18th birthday away from her family. Since her father was abroad, that part was already done. What was left was to convince Veena not to go to the celebration prepared by her mother. And he already had a plan to make that happen.

Whatever the reason Veena needed to stay away from her mother, Jeff was sure he would learn the truth once he read the update of Veena's Archive.

On that thought, while Jeff was resting and skipping his class yesterday—using Returner Luck to cast Speed-up Recovery, a feature of the Returner Fantasy System that healed his gunshot wound a little bit faster but not fully, so as not to make Nubia suspicious and to try hiding it from Jess—he finally had time to read Veena's Archive.

What he read made him aware of why Veena, in his original timeline before his regression, didn't say anything to him about falling victim to Dexter.

Regardless of the truth, Jeff wanted to verify it himself.

As for Quest 24...

"I guess I could just ask her what she wants," he said as he finished his breakfast and stood up from the table, bringing his plate to the sink to wash it, wondering what the reward Intimate Body actually was. Right then...

—Ding!~Dong!—

The intercom rang, and Jeff was sure who was outside.

Jeff put the cleaned plate on the tray, then headed toward the door. As he expected, the moment he opened it, he saw Veena crying while clinging to Nubia, who was looking at him with a troubled look on her face.

"Wahhh... Please don't leave, Nubia-senpai... Sob... I want to celebrate my birthday with you... Sob..."

"I'm sorry, Vee. I have an important meeting I must attend with my father."

Despite the fact that Nubia was wearing her office attire—a black coat over a white blouse and black skirt paired with high heels—and the fact that it was Saturday, which she usually spent at her office at the PoruMerc branch in Capital City...

That's an obvious lie, Jeff thought, looking at Nubia with an idiotic grin on his face.

Although it wasn't exactly a lie—she did have a meeting, but not one she couldn't skip...

And whose fault is that?! Nubia retorted, understanding what Jeff was thinking.

Nubia, of course, wanted to celebrate Veena's 18th birthday. But she couldn't—not with the plan Jeff had come up with and discussed with her:

To celebrate Veena's birthday at their home in Central City together with his parents and family, including Jess.

Since Jeff was still keeping Jess's approval of the Harem x Yuri plan a secret from Nubia—simply because he wanted to tease her a little—Nubia remained unsure of how to explain her relationship with Jeff or how to convince Jess to approve of her.

You're still nervous to meet Jess, Nubia-senpai?

Of course I am, stupid Jeff!

While Jeff and Nubia were gazing at each other, comprehending each other's thoughts, Veena continued crying and clinging to Nubia, refusing to let her go.

"Haven't you spent a lot of time with Nubia-senpai already, Vee?" Jeff said while patting her head, finally helping Nubia convince Veena to give up on her request.

Veena had, in fact, been living together with Nubia after the night she had secretly watched Jeff and Nubia's intimacy. It helped both of them get close to each other, and at the same time, helped Jeff restrain his lustful desire for Veena and Nubia.

However, with how clingy and needy Veena was, even Jeff and Nubia knew that wouldn't be enough to convince her.

"We can celebrate again once I return on Tuesday, Vee," Nubia said as she wiped Veena's tears with her handkerchief.

"That means we can celebrate your birthday twice. Wouldn't that be nice?" Jeff added, and with that, Veena finally let go of Nubia—only to cling to Jeff instead.

"For my gift, how about getting some new clothes at the PoruMerc store downtown?"

"I want you more than new clothes..."

Listening to Veena and Nubia's conversation, Jeff could at least figure out that Veena's most desired gift wasn't new clothes. It wasn't Nubia being with her on her birthday either, since the quest would probably fail right away if it was. Or so Jeff thought.

Despite Veena's refusal to buy new clothes, Nubia still insisted.

"Stop by the store on your way home, Jeff," she said before taking her leave—but not before giving a pair of goodbye kisses to Jeff and Veena, who both refused to let her go, clinging to her like kids refusing to let go of their big sister.

"Home?" Veena murmured, looking confused at Jeff only after waving goodbye to Nubia.

"Say, Vee..." Jeff said, looking at Veena, who was already back to clinging to him.

"Do you want to celebrate your birthday at our home instead of your mother's?"

"Does that mean..."

Looking at Veena's surprised expression—her eyes filled with both anticipation and doubt—Jeff understood what she was most concerned about.

"Mhm... You will be meeting Jess."
