A certain person's police gun is not in the equipment room all year round, nor in its holster, not even in the bedside cabinet, but in the hands of a seven-year-old elementary school student.
When the kidnapping occurred, Taira Sakurako was at home playing video games.
She was already quite skilled in various video games, including arcade fighting games. If competitive games were popular at the time, she might have become a professional player in the future.
For Taira Sakurako, the day before yesterday should have been a wonderful day. Mako had helped her buy "Demon Castle 3: Dracula's Curse," and she was already at the last level, "Dracula's Final Clock Tower."
Uesugi Shion had her arms restrained, but she was still focused on controlling her character, climbing to the top to open the door and enter the final battle area, planning to face Dracula in the final showdown... Until Uesugi Shion dragged her away, she didn't realize what had happened.
Taira Sakurako twisted and struggled, trying to save her game, but to no avail. Uesugi Shion forcibly stuffed her in a suitcase and threatened to kill her if she made a sound.
In the past, this threat would have worked 100%. Taira Sakurako would definitely be scared into not daring to move in the suitcase, perhaps even having an autism and claustrophobia attack, her brain shutting down.
But the current Taira Sakurako was different from before. Minamoto Tamako had given her a positive mindset, Fushimi Roku taught her some tricks, and had 'given' her a gun for self-defense—though she actually stole it, but that wasn't important. After all, Fushimi Roku's first lesson was stealing.
Even at home, Taira Sakurako carried a gun with her 24/7, so much so that when Minamoto Tamako hugged her to sleep at night, she could always feel something hard between her legs.
She squatted in the suitcase, using the faint light from the gaps to see, carefully inspected the handgun, confirmed there were no issues from regular maintenance, and awaited the kidnapper to open the case.
The suitcase bumped along the way, with the air inside becoming increasingly stifling.
Taira Sakurako curled up, slowing her breathing, feeling like an assassin lurking in the shadows, waiting for the right moment to give the enemy a fatal blow... If there were a stealth assassination game, she would definitely buy and play it.
About four or five hours passed; the bumping stopped for a while, seemingly during a customs transfer, she heard the sound of waves.
Taira Sakurako waited quietly for a long time; her agonizing journey finally ended.
The kidnappers opened the suitcase, she poked her head out like a cat, and found herself on the deck.
The sea breeze blew, the ship was navigating the ocean, surrounded by open sea with no islands or signal lights, only endless sea and sky.
This ship wasn't big, just a small ferry. Three or four crew members were standing on the deck around the suitcase, discussing in low voices in front of Taira Sakurako:
"Hey, why is this cargo a girl?"
"How should I know!"
"Didn't sense anything all the way?"
"Felt something moving; I thought it was some endangered animal..."
"Baka, it's because I sensed it that I opened to look!"
...
Taira Sakurako was just a seven-year-old girl; the crew didn't take her seriously, nor did they consider she might have a handgun in her pants pocket.
She held her knees and pretended to be pitiful, blinking at the adults, quickly observing the situation outside.
The thick beard should be the captain, constantly issuing commands with the liberty to scold others, calling them 'baka.' Opening the suitcase should have been his idea;
Next was the tattooed man, looking like he was the chief mate, only he dared to talk back when the captain scolded, thinking 'the suitcase contained endangered animals' was his idea;
Lastly, there were two younger crew members, with a sense of naive ignorance, probably not as smart as she was, never daring to speak when the captain scolded.
The four discussed for a while before the chief mate suddenly asked, "What do we do now?"
The captain glared at him, "Is it your first day on the ship? Do I need to teach you how to handle this?" He said and kicked the suitcase with his foot, ordering the crew to zip it up.
Though unwilling, the crew dared not disobey commands; the hierarchy on the ship was strictly enforced, and it wasn't their first time doing such work—they were somewhat desensitized.
Seeing them bend down to zip up the suitcase, Taira Sakurako realized she had to do something, needed to change her situation.
"Umm… I, I need to pee…"
Taira Sakurako lowered her head, showing three parts shyness, three parts charm, and four parts fear, mimicking Minamoto Tamako's expression when begging Fushimi Roku to pinch her foot.
The crew's actions froze.
The four tough guys stared at an innocent little girl, their guilt swelling to an overwhelming degree. The chief mate scratched his nose and said, "We can't deliver dirty cargo to the employer, a bathroom break is no big deal…" with that, he turned to the captain and asked, "What do you say?"
Instead of continuing to zip up the suitcase, the crew stared at the captain with pleading eyes.
The captain's gaze scanned until it landed on Taira Sakurako, who was looking at him pitifully. Even he, a bloodthirsty demon, found it hard to act harshly.
"Be quick about it." The captain waved his hand impatiently.
He was just a seafarer occasionally smuggling private goods, not a human trafficker, not cruel to the point of bullying children.
Two crew members hurriedly helped Taira Sakurako out and escorted her to the bathroom.
Constrained by seafaring rules, they couldn't talk much with Taira Sakurako, only led her to the bathroom, gave her a pack of tissue, and told her not to run around.
