He first looked at his Level. As expected, after killing the three Sixth Circle imperial Mages, he had reached Level 75, which was the maximum before the next Class Evolution. The System had stored the remaining experience for after the Evolution.

I'll go through today at night or tomorrow. Just need some time to think.

Class Evolutions were one of the most important parts of Leveling up, after all. It would be pointless to keep delaying it. Best-case scenario, he would have the time to go through it once today's lesson was over.

Still, I don't expect a great Level jump.

The higher one's Level, the harder it was to get to the next one. This became especially true after each Class Evolution. Even though his foes had been powerful and high-Leveled, that didn't mean he would Level up like before. In the same vein, because he hadn't Leveled up much, his stats had also only barely changed. Rylan barely glanced at his other stats, choosing to focus on a single one. Pride bloomed within his heart.

Aura.

It had taken him a relatively short time to awaken it, even when compared to the warriors in his past life, but it had felt like forever. Rylan smiled. He was happy at having finally achieved the goal he had been aiming for from the day he remembered his past life. Finally, his true strength could begin to shine. From here, he would be able to try his hardest with methods he knew worked.

His gaze moved on to his Skills, which were unchanged. There were still a bit too many Active Skills for his liking, but it was the nature of learning spells. Unlike sword styles, which contained several techniques and Sword Arts, each spell was classified as an individual Skill. As for his Hybrid Skills, he hadn't learned enough about Aura's resonance with spells to create a Skill similar to Mana Cultivation just yet. As his thoughts reached this point, Rylan furrowed his brow. He looked at his newest Title. Its information appeared in front of him almost instantly.

[Title

A New Path

Your twin lives have led you to discover a seed of possibility. By uniting the knowledge of Roland Steelsong and Rylan Flameheart, you have touched upon the faintest trace of divinity. Your efforts will never be wasted.

* Slightly diminishes Aether's burden on your mind, body, and soul.

* Minutely increases Aether's effectiveness.]

Rylan narrowed his eyes at the Title's description, then looked at his Aspect. Harmony of Twin Lives was what had allowed him to see that his suspicions were true. There was a higher level above both Aura and mana, and he could now seek it.

Aether, huh?

A power that he could only use for a few seconds, even when trying his hardest. Thinking back on it, he had been lucky that he still had been able to fight after wielding it, and that it hadn't exhausted his Aura and mana pools.

With an internal sigh, Rylan dismissed his Status Window and looked over his shoulder at the people who were following him inside the Mage Tower. As expected, the soldiers were looking around like children at a tourist attraction. It made him grin.

"Come on, the others are already waiting at the top," he said loudly to the group, making all of them look at him.

"The others, young master?" Jack asked before Scott could, earning him a dissatisfied glance from the latter.

"Of course. You guys will be training with my family, Sarah, and my master."

The soldiers' eyes began to almost shine in a heartbeat.

"The Lady and your siblings? Holy shit, how long has it been?" Scott asked excitedly.

Jack laid a heavy hand on his shoulder before taking a deep breath, shaking his head.

"I'm sure everyone will be happy to see the lords, young master," he said, still throwing a reproachful look at Scott.

Rylan looked at Calan, who had started shifting nervously as he walked.

"Don't worry, Calan," Rylan said with a calm grin. "Everything will be fine. Just behave like you always do."

Calan scoffed.

"Yeah, right. Your master is Damian Gassiec, right? How do you expect me to stay calm in front of the kingdom's strongest Mage?"

"He isn't the strongest," Scott snapped back in less than a second. "Master is."

Calan blinked, while Rylan only sighed.

With steady steps, he led the group up the Mage Tower, past the winding staircases and shifting stairways. Eventually, they arrived at the very top of the Tower. The doors to Damian's study opened automatically, allowing Rylan to step inside the large room, followed closely by the soldiers and Calan. Inside the study were Hayden and Jasmine, his family, and Damian himself, all staring at him.

"Hello," Rylan said with a smile. "I think we're ready to begin."

Aelfric and Sarah smiled, as did Elizabeth. Damian only stared at him, while Gerard nodded. Regis and Lillia looked at him with shining eyes, just like Hayden and Jasmine. However, while Hayden's eyes were filled with competitiveness and respect, Jasmine's were dominated by a type of affection. Rylan awkwardly scratched the back of his head and walked closer to the middle of the room. Damian stepped away from his desk and motioned at it, then joined the others.

With a sigh, Rylan walked up to the desk, then turned around to look at his full class of students. The soldiers were settling in, finding their space, while Calan had walked up to Hayden and Jasmine, greeting them after greeting Rylan's family. For a few seconds, he only stared at the group.

…Roland never taught anyone.

It was a thought that had already struck him repeatedly, but never rang hollow. This life was the first time he'd experienced teaching others, starting with teaching Aelfric mana circulation to cope with the withdrawals and guiding the soldiers back before he defeated Evenon.

Rylan shook his head to clear his thoughts and smiled at the group.

"Welcome, class," he said, keeping his smile and making some of the others scoff. "Today, we'll start by learning the basics of Mana Cultivation."

Almost all the soldiers leaned forward, including Jack, Scott, and the twins. As if trying to match them, so did Damian, with a piercing gaze but still silent.

"This is all for the sake of your protection," Rylan continued, looking at his family. Aelfric, Sarah, and Elizabeth smiled widely. He then looked at the soldiers. "Or for the sake of protecting something or someone else."

He lifted his hand and raised a finger.

"We can start by discussing what Mana Cultivation is and its basic principles."

Hayden nodded, while Damian narrowed his eyes. Rylan pointed his index finger at his own chest.

"This is my ordinary self," he said, then started circulating his mana. It raged through his vessels, taking an almost physical shape and strengthening his muscles, bones, organs, and ligaments. Damian's eyes widened. "And this is what I become once I use Mana Cultivation. At its core, it's nothing but a way to make mana strengthen your own body, as if you were a spell. The core principle is to make your mana resonate with your body."

The soldiers nodded along, looking a bit star-struck. Damian tilted his head.

"That's not a new concept," he abruptly said. "But every attempt in history has failed to achieve anything similar to what you have. How did you do it?"

Rylan looked at his master with a grin. Gerard furrowed his brow. Rylan then shrugged.

"I guess I just came up with the right way to do it," he replied in a steady tone.

Damian sighed and motioned at him to continue. Rylan nodded and clapped once.

"Now, let's start with the basics. The first lesson will be about trying to make your mana affect your body somehow. Even a small reaction is fine, and it will probably take time. Since this is Mana Cultivation's most basic principle, it's what we'll be working on until you guys succeed."

He stepped closer to the group as they nodded.

I need to make this work.

For the sake of his loved one's safety, he needed them to become stronger. As he was, he had no doubt that he would be able to grow much faster than before now that he had Aura. It was time to dedicate some of his time to the people he wanted to protect, for their own sake. He couldn't be in two places at once.

He would help them.
