Monster Chronicles: My Daoist Skill Comes from Mythology

Chapter 608: Repairing the Buddha of Three Lifetimes Observing the Five Earthly Immortal Estates. _2

When facing enemies, the opponent often cannot break through his defenses, unless it is a True Immortal with profoundly advanced cultivation.

Now, with the Bright Wheel and Shariputra Relic, the Nine-Transformation Golden Body has progressed further.

After this, it might even reach the Ninth Layer.

By then, he could suppress an entire realm just by his physical body.

Not to mention, he also possesses the higher-level Innate Yang Qi Taoist Realm.

The cultivation of the Taoist School must not be neglected either.

Rumble... Rumble... Rumble...

While Song Lin was in secluded cultivation within his cave mansion, violent tremors and explosions echoed from the outside world.

Several Great Demons were in battle outside, while the opposing side consisted of Silver Dragon, Night Demon Heavenly Demon, and Blood Qilin Demon under Song Lin's command.

The three were fighting a gigantic monster.

This monster's entire body was made of pitch-black rock, towering 300,000 zhang tall. The three demons barely reached the height of its knees.

This was the Great Demon Mountain Demon of this Demon Tribulation.

The Mountain Demon bore a striking resemblance to the ancient Taishi Demon Emperor. Taishi was a child of the earth, while the Mountain Demon was the fusion of a Demon King and the earth.

With the power of the Demon King combined with the power of the earth, the trio was under immense strain.

Moreover, an endless stream of demon offspring surged forth, surrounding them completely.

The Demon Army they led had long since been overwhelmed, unable to stir even the slightest ripple.

"Should we seek aid from the Heavenly Emperor?" the Qilin Demon asked. One of his antlers was broken in half; his once-bright red robes had turned a dull brown from dried blood, so intermixed that it was unclear whether it was his own or from the demons.

"There's no other choice."

Silver Dragon was equally battered, his white robes stained crimson. His graceful demeanor had vanished. He drew a Divine Pearl from his bosom.

The pearl was white, with flowing, radiant light within.

Crack!

The pearl shattered in his hand, releasing a beam of white light straight into the heavens, puncturing a hole through the black clouds above.

The commotion caused a brief pause in the battle, and the Mountain Demon seized the opportunity, raising a foot to stomp down on the entire group.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

His form, already an Immortal Magical Treasure, rendered all dharma techniques and dharma artifacts entirely ineffective.

If that stomp connected directly, they would be completely obliterated, their souls dispersed.

"Jie jie, is that all you've got? Summon your Jin Naluo Bodhisattva here and let this king see his worth! Hahaha!"

Boom!

At that moment, a golden light streaked across the sky.

The golden light descended to the foot of the Mountain Demon.

As the radiance dissipated, a striking figure appeared—a white-haired, impeccably handsome Bodhisattva stood atop a thousand-petaled white lotus. His dharma body emitted a faint golden glow, flawless and radiant, like the Ten-foot Golden Body of a Buddha.

"Bodhisattva!"

The trio exclaimed in unison, their voices filled with elation.

"Is this your reinforcements? What a dim-witted lot. Just die together, then."

The Mountain Demon mocked in a booming voice.

Daring to stand directly beneath him—what kind of Heavenly Immortal could be so arrogant?

Boom!

The massive foot stomped onto Song Lin's body.

Yet, the envisioned scene of obliteration, leaving not even a trace of the planet, did not occur. Instead, an excruciating pain radiated from both his feet.

Crack... Crack...

Fissures spread from the soles of his feet up to his neck, immediately accompanied by an overwhelming force.

It was Song Lin who emerged unharmed—such an attack had caused him no injury whatsoever.

Song Lin soared through the air, quickly closing the distance to the Mountain Demon.

A single punch!

The Mountain Demon's body shattered.

The Nine-Transformation Mysterious Skill had fully blossomed, rendering his physical body unimaginably formidable—just one punch sufficed to annihilate the Mountain Demon.

"This..." The Mountain Demon found himself speechless, overwhelmed with shock. The opponent's physical body was even stronger than his own. Standing before him, Song Lin seemed like an unfathomable ocean.

As his physical form collapsed, the Mountain Demon had no choice but to transform into a streak of black light, fleeing deep into the cosmos.

"Don't let him get away!"

Just as the trio was about to pursue, Song Lin let out a cough, halting them in their tracks. Then, he opened his palm, and the Bright Treasure Wheel began spinning rapidly.

Swoosh!

The Bright Treasure Wheel emitted a beam of white light, striking the Mountain Demon's black light, dispersing the demon instantly.

But it wasn't over yet—within light-years of the star domain, countless demons still swarmed, while a large number of Buddhist Sect disciples were besieged by them.

Song Lin lifted the Bright Treasure Wheel high.

In an instant, the pitch-black and desolate star domain was engulfed in radiant white light, traveling faster than ordinary light and illuminating the entire cosmos.

Every single hair and speck was revealed, lighting up thousands of miles.

Many Buddhist monks were saved by this light. Witnessing this scene, they recited a scripture: "When Randeng Buddha was first born, light spread to all directions, rendering the sun, moon, and fire pearls unnecessary."

Could it be that Randeng Buddha had returned?

This light penetrated into the Western Pure Land, shaking all the Buddhas.

While other monks might not recognize it, the elder ones could immediately see that this was the divine skill of Randeng Buddha.

The Buddha opened his divine eyes and glanced at the Venerable beside him, saying, "Anan, go and see."

"Yes."

Receiving the command, Anan descended to the mortal world and returned shortly after.

"Reporting to the Buddha, the divine skill was unleashed by Jin Naluo Bodhisattva. He holds the Bright Treasure Wheel of Randeng Buddha."

"Summon him to us."

The chaos from this realm's demonic disorder was pacified.

This time, Song Lin acted with extraordinary prominence, openly revealing Randeng Buddha's Taoist lineage and Immortal Artifact.

In the Western Pure Land, strength alone was insufficient to ascend to the higher echelons—one also needed an exceptional pedigree.

By obtaining Randeng Buddha's magical artifacts and relics, Song Lin undoubtedly proved himself to be the heir of Randeng Buddha.

As the foremost Ancient Buddha, Randeng Buddha's legacy elevated Song Lin's status to an even loftier position.

Revealing this identity might provoke the Buddha's apprehension, but it would also allow Song Lin to win over many Buddhists who had once followed Randeng Buddha. It had both advantages and disadvantages.

Soon, the Buddha's decree arrived.

Upon arriving at the Great Leiyin Temple, the Tathagata immediately asked:

"Have you met Randeng Buddha?"

"No, this disciple discovered a chaotic void while traveling the vast cosmos. Within the void, I obtained Randeng Buddha's relics and magical artifacts. These are the relics of the Ancient Buddha. Knowing that I am unworthy to inherit Randeng Buddha's legacy, I have preserved them in advance and respectfully present them to the Buddha."

Song Lin retrieved a jade box, which contained Randeng Buddha's relic.

The luminous treasure within the box captivated the assembled Bodhisattvas, Arhats, and even Buddhas.

Obtaining the relic's empowerment and its realm of cultivation could propel someone directly to an unparalleled height.

Some even harbored greed, holding a tinge of jealousy toward Song Lin in their hearts.

Why did everything fall into his hands?

The Tathagata himself did not wish for Randeng Buddha's relic to be released into the hands of others. If Song Lin comprehended something from it, it might jeopardize his own position.

Should the past Buddha gather his faction while he governed his own, it would threaten the unity of the Buddhist Sect.

However, Jin Naluo's act of offering it directly in such a public setting left the Buddha no choice. Not only did he have no intentions of keeping it, but Song Lin had thoughtfully preserved it and presented it on behalf of everyone.

Could the Tathagata openly rob a junior of his opportunity?

Nevertheless, seeing others' jealousy toward Song Lin, a cunning idea formed in the Tathagata's mind: to elevate and isolate him through praise, making him a target of collective frustration while simultaneously withholding substantial benefits.

With this in mind, the Tathagata smiled and said, "No need. Randeng Buddha has been in nirvana for many years, and his relics have never appeared. Now that they have come into your possession, it must be Tianyi. In the future, you may serve as a supplement."

Hearing this, the Buddhas could not help but look at Song Lin.

In Buddhist terms, "supplement" referred to the candidate for the position of one of the Three Buddha—a substitute Buddha, as it were. Maitreya, for instance, was the future Buddha's supplement. The Tathagata's words were divine and could not be false.

Which Buddha was he supplementing? The past Randeng Buddha? Amitabha? No matter who, Jin Naluo Bodhisattva would undoubtedly rise above the entire assembly of Buddhas in the future.

Could merely possessing Randeng's relic accord one such status? Unsurprisingly, many harbored conniving thoughts.

"The Buddha exaggerates."

Song Lin reluctantly accepted the relics.

Although he was ostracized by the assembly, his transcendent status became indisputable.

After that day, Jin Naluo Bodhisattva became widely renowned as the inheritor of Randeng Buddha.

One was a disciple of Lord Lao Zi of the Great Monad, the other the scion of Randeng Buddha—two unrivaled prodigies, equally matched.

Song Lin usually stayed reclusive, focusing solely on refining the relic.

A decade passed.

One day, Song Lin arrived at the Wuzhuang Temple in the Earth Immortal Realm.

At the same time, disturbances began to stir in the Real World.
