Hey folks

One of you (@Es-Zeus) suggested that I activate Paypal on Royalroad. Till this point I had not considered doing so for two reasons:

- I honestly started this as a hobby and have no intention of earning through it. Knowing that my work is out there and is enjoyed by a thousand people (still can't believe I have a 1000+ followers) was reward enough.

- My H1B visa restricts me from having a secondary source of income. Even the publishing deal I have with RR will require me to prove to the IRS and USCIS that this venture is not my full time employment and I am doing it as a hobby. There are a lot of legal hoops I need to jump through, but I hope I can get there before the book comes out.

But since @Es-Zeus asked, I am activating my Paypal just out of curiosity. But I want to lay down a few ground rules:

1. You are NOT obligated to give me any money. Either through this or by buying my book when it comes out. I will never ask anyone for it, and if you are ever contacted by someone claiming to be me, please reach out to me immediately.

2. My main goal is and always will be for you to enjoy my work. So, if you do decide to donate, please keep it to a nominal amount. Like @Es-zeus mentioned, something like a coffee's worth. There are two reasons for this. First is I do not want to burden any one of you with any false expectations. My work on RR will always be free. And second is to avoid any legal problems. I am sure the USCIS will not mind someone buying me a coffee. Anything more than that, and I might come under scrutiny.

3. My release schedule is independent of the donations. So please don't expect to pressure me into writing more. Maybe once I get my green card and am allowed to earn however I want, I might consider doing this full time. But for now, my main job as an engineer pays the bills.

I am just putting out this announcement to inform you. Nothing more, nothing less.
