Hunter: Growing Stronger with the Light of the Moon!

Chapter 55: Slumber! Ghost Spirit’s Barrier!

Seeing that no one had a solution, the Lord of Dorey City, Gavin, grew angry. He made a firm decision:

"Now, there's only one option: We'll send the surrounding military forces into Nightmare Wasteland to rescue the contestants trapped inside!"

As soon as these words were spoken, the faces of the other officials instantly changed. One person hurriedly stepped forward to advise:

"Lord, you must not do that! The Nightmare Wasteland is full of evil, and even professional Hunters are no match for it."

"Our military forces going in won't save anyone, and we'll likely suffer heavy losses ourselves!"

Upon hearing this, Gavin's face immediately stiffened.

What was said made sense.

However, as the organizers, if the Lord's office didn't make any remedial decisions, wouldn't they be torn apart by the major associations later?

"It's over, this is really over!"

Gavin was in a panic. The operations of his office depended heavily on the support of the major associations.

In fact, his rise to the position of Lord was because the associations had backed him.

But if all the associations turned against him, it would be a disaster for both his office and for him personally.

Gavin simply couldn't bear the wrath of a group of senior Hunters!

At that moment, his mood plummeted, and he could only coldly watch the screen, feeling utterly helpless.

...

After the sky in Nightmare Wasteland dramatically changed.

The ones who felt the most intense shift were Ed and his group, who were closest to the ghost spirit in the center of the Nightmare Wasteland.

Looking at the ghost spirit's increasing aura of ghostly power, it was clear that its actions weren't just limited to changing the sky!

Ed's face grew serious. He urged Thomas and the others behind him:

"Move! We need to leave now!"

Although Ed didn't know exactly what the ghost spirit was planning, he felt that it would be too late if they didn't leave immediately!

The three, uncertain but sensing danger, immediately turned to leave. Thomas, however, called out in concern:

"Lord Ed! Aren't you coming with us?"

Ed furrowed his brows. "You all leave first, quickly!"

Thomas reluctantly followed behind Alex and Lucas, hurrying away from the area.

Just as they left, the ghost spirit stirred.

It completely ignored the two terrified humans, Brown and Brian, sitting beneath it, and instead grasped the wooden box containing the high-level spiritual treasure firmly in its hands.

"My... spiritual treasure!"

The ghost spirit suddenly spoke in human language, its voice cold and deep.

"In seven more days, I'll be able to completely merge the spiritual treasure into my body!"

"No one is allowed to disturb me again!"

Brown and Brian were sitting on the ground, too afraid to breathe, cold sweat soaking their bodies!

After the ghost spirit finished speaking, it turned around and slowly began to leave.

Brown's eyes shot with a gleam of surprise:

"It actually... doesn't plan to kill us!"

But as the words reached the ghost spirit's ears, the next moment, it spun around and glared angrily at Brown and Brian!

"Humans..."

"Die!"

The ghost spirit extended one massive black hand, its terrifying killing intent towering over them!

It was about to crush their skulls!

The two, who had just relaxed, instantly turned pale, their souls nearly leaving their bodies in terror!

Brian's mind was in turmoil:

"Dammit! This is all your fault for running your mouth!"

But just as both of them closed their eyes, the ghost spirit's hand suddenly froze in mid-air!

The two opened their eyes and saw that the ghost spirit's aura had grown increasingly faint.

"Such little power, to crush two mere ants like humans... too wasteful!"

The ghost spirit turned away again.

It had more important things to do!

With the last of its strength, it lifted its head, aimed at the sky, and the ghost spirit opened its mouth:

"Roar! Roar! Roar!"

From its mouth, it spewed out countless black, mist-like ghostly energies!

These energies quickly condensed into solid form in the air, spreading out across the ground in all directions, extending everywhere!

Brown and Brian stared in shock, their eyes wide. In the face of the ghost spirit's immense power,

their cultivation, their strength, and their presence seemed utterly insignificant, like ants!

They couldn't understand what the ghost spirit was doing!

But not far away, Ed immediately sensed that black walls of ghostly energy were forming from all directions!

The area was starting to be sealed off by these ghostly energy walls!

"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!"

On the other side, Thomas and the others were running at full speed, not daring to even look back!

As Hunters, they were so out of breath from their sprinting that it was clear how hard they were running!

The three of them estimated that they had run at least a hundred meters, thinking they were now in a safe position!

"Stop, we should be safe here," Alex said.

But as soon as he finished speaking, a sudden shift in the ghostly energy behind them startled the three of them!

"Huh?"

The three turned around in shock, only to see a large amount of black mist forming.

The mist slowly shaped itself into a barrier wall, completely isolating the inside from the outside!

"This... is a barrier?!" Lucas gasped, feeling the immense power without fully understanding it!

"Look, it's everywhere!" Alex pointed in all directions!

They saw that the entire abandoned village was surrounded by the barrier!

A chill ran down their spines, and they thought, "This ghost spirit is capable of such a powerful feat?"

"If Ed hadn't warned us, if we had been just a second late in leaving, we would have been trapped inside too, right?"

Alex and Lucas, the two brothers, were filled with intense afterthoughts, shaken by their narrow escape.

But Thomas was deeply worried, his heart uneasy:

"But... Lord Ed is still inside. I wonder what the situation is like now!"

"Boom, boom, boom!"

Suddenly, a powerful pressure emanated from the distance, and the three of them almost simultaneously sensed it.

Instantly, they all shuddered, and Alex's face changed:

"Such a powerful aura!"

"Someone! Someone is coming this way!"

"It's the aura of a Hunter! My god, this is the first time I've felt such a powerful Hunter!"

The three of them looked toward the source of the aura. About three hundred meters away, in the pitch-black, impenetrable forest, a small white light appeared!

At first, the white light was only the size of a grain of rice and seemed very far away, at least three hundred meters away!

But the white light rapidly closed the distance. In the blink of an eye, it had already covered a large portion of the distance!

In almost one second, it had crossed half of the way!

Thomas and the others were stunned:

"My god, is that even human?"

The white light began to grow larger, and inside, the outline of a person appeared!

The pressure they felt also became stronger and stronger.

Finally, the person appeared in front of them, and as they clearly saw his face, each of them was shocked.

"My god! It's him!!"

The person who appeared was none other than One-Eye, the leader of the Moon Eclipse Demon Hunter Association's team!

He had been in deep meditation, and because he trusted that his disciples would follow orders, he hadn't noticed that Brown and Brian had secretly strayed from the team!

But when the ghost spirit awakened and erupted with the black pillar, the huge disturbance woke One-Eye from his trance!

Then, as the world changed color and darkness engulfed the land, his two disciples disappeared!

Sensing the strong presence of the ghost spirit, One-Eye immediately realized something had gone wrong!

He followed the traces of their energy and rushed toward them with all his might!

But he was still about a mile away!

"Move!!"

One-Eye, in full sprint, released his entire aura.

As a low-tier Silver Hunter, the white light surrounding him was a direct manifestation of his power, able to make any weak monster in his path retreat in fear, not daring to block his way!

One-Eye was now focused on reaching the abandoned village as quickly as possible, so when he saw Thomas and the others ahead of him, he immediately ordered them to clear the way!

Thomas and the others broke into a cold sweat:

"Quick! Get out of the way!"

One-Eye was charging at full speed, and if he collided with this Silver Hunter, Thomas and the others would be killed on the spot!

Everything happened so quickly that Thomas didn't have time to warn them about the ghost spirit's barrier ahead!

In the end, One-Eye, who was desperate to save them, slammed directly into the ghost spirit's barrier!

"Boom!!"

The full force of his burst of power collided violently with the barrier, but in the end, it was One-Eye who was sent bouncing back!

The barrier, however, remained unbroken!

"What!?" Only then did One-Eye see what was blocking his path, and in an instant, his mood sank sharply!

"It's over! It's all too late!"

The ghost spirit's barrier was an extremely special ability!

It was nearly impossible to break from the outside with brute force alone—at least, not by One-Eye alone. From this, it was clear that the ghost spirit inside was no ordinary ghost spirit!

Meanwhile, Thomas and the others stood by, too nervous to speak.

Seeing such an elite Hunter up close, they felt the full weight of the pressure he exuded!

In the next moment, One-Eye turned his head and saw the three of them!

He immediately closed the distance in just a few strides and grabbed Alex!

One-Eye, moving with incredible speed, seized Alex by his armor and effortlessly lifted him off the ground!

The next moment, a thunderous voice boomed in Alex's ear:

"You came from inside the barrier, right?!"

"Tell me! What happened inside?!"

Alex, lifted into the air, was shaken violently!

He quickly began to feel a strong dizziness!

A fully grown man, in One-Eye's hands, felt weightless, as if he were nothing more than a toy!

Thomas and Lucas were equally shocked, realizing that One-Eye's gaze now resembled that of a fierce tiger!

On both a physical and mental level, they were being completely overwhelmed!

After a long pause, Lucas finally regained his senses and hurriedly spoke for the speechless Alex:

"Lord, please stop! We really just came out from inside!"

"I'll tell you everything right now!"

Hearing this, One-Eye's face immediately turned cold, and his murderous aura, like a storm, descended upon Lucas:

"Good! Speak quickly! If I'm not satisfied, you three will die!"
