Hunter: Growing Stronger with the Light of the Moon!

Chapter 140: The Invisible Storm

Eng quickly delivered the message from Holy City. Leon Torilard, like Arya, was also from one of the three great families of Holy City, the Torilard Family. He was about to arrive in Dorey City.

Upon hearing the news, Finniel instinctively crossed her arms, furrowing her brows, and said, "What does he want here?"

Eng sighed, unsure of the reason for Leon's visit to Dorey City. However, it was well known that Leon had always been a suitor of Miss Finniel, and the Morton Family had high hopes for him. Had Miss Finniel not strongly opposed it, Leon would surely have joined their party for the journey from Holy City to Dorey City.

Given that Leon was soon to arrive in Dorey City, it seemed he had likely left shortly after them. Eng wondered what Leon's reaction would be when he learned of Arya's situation.

Eng's thoughts naturally turned to Ed, comparing him to Leon. Leon was a bit older than Ed, at nineteen years old, a high-tier Silver Hunter skilled in swordsmanship and horsemanship. He owned a warhorse that even Eng found quite impressive—though not of mixed-blood descent, it was still a rare breed.

Mixed-blood warhorses, aside from the exceptionally perfect ones, often had some flaws. The exceptionally perfect ones were almost impossible to find.

Eng knew that Finniel had been showing some unusual emotions toward Ed in the past few days. He was a little concerned about what would happen if a conflict arose between Ed and Leon.

Finniel took a deep breath, her mood clearly soured. She asked, "Eng, is it possible for us to go to the place Findley mentioned before Leon arrives and find the thing we need, and then head back to Holy City?"

Immediately, Finniel covered her mouth, regret flashing across her face.

If they returned to Holy City, wouldn't she have to leave Ed behind?

She then began to inquire about the reward from Holy City.

Eng replied that he hadn't received any information regarding it.

Finniel nodded. The reward would come from Holy City through official channels, so they would need to wait a bit longer.

The Land of the Far North

Cold snowflakes drifted from the sky in the Far North, where the sun disappeared for months at a time. The region was eerily silent, a silence that instilled fear.

At that very moment, in the depths of a vast underground city, a woman wearing an ornate crown, her skin covered with mysterious black markings and resembling the legendary elven queens, sat upon a massive throne, gazing coldly at the young girl kneeling before her.

The Dark Elf Queen said coldly, "Sonya, are you ready to depart?"

The young girl, also adorned with mysterious black tattoos, slowly lowered her head and answered, "Mother..."

Before she could finish her sentence, the Dark Elf Queen snorted in disdain, saying, "Useless. When I wear the crown, you will address me as 'Your Majesty.'"

Sonya respectfully replied, "Your Majesty, I am ready."

The Dark Elf Queen nodded and continued, "Remember, this task isn't just about locating the Delphilis Eye. You also need to find any remaining elven bloodlines, especially those with the Elven Royal Bloodline!"

"Whether it's the owner of the Delphilis Eye or someone with the royal elven blood, once they are found, kill them all!"

"We've been in this underground world for far too long. That stubborn, ignorant ancient elven tree has never acknowledged our bloodline, considering us a stain on the elven race's glory."

"Hmph, glory? What is glory compared to survival?"

"When all the owners of the Elven Royal Bloodline are dead, the ancient elven tree will naturally choose us and allow us to return to the Elven Kingdom, where we will revive the elves!"

Sonya remained silent, her head lowered, staring at the dark floor beneath her. Her shadow was reflected on it, and now, at this crucial moment, the Dark Elf Kingdom was confirming the next heir.

As one of the few Dark Elves qualified for leadership, Sonya had agreed to leave and search for the Delphilis Eye and the rightful owners of the Elven Royal Bloodline. She had grown tired of the endless power struggles.

Sonya took a deep breath, nodded firmly, and replied, "Understood, Your Majesty."

This was not the only occurrence happening beneath The Land of the Far North. In the Orc Kingdom, the granddaughter of the Orc High Priest, the current Holy Maiden of the Orcs, a maiden with fox ears and a fox tail, had also accepted a mission and secretly departed from the Orc territory.

Similarly, members of the Moon Worship Sect had set out as well.

An invisible storm was slowly brewing.

Meanwhile, Ed, who was sleeping, suddenly felt a chill. He opened his eyes and looked toward the window.

It was already night. After his pleasant conversation with Iris, he couldn't help but fall asleep, not realizing that he had slept through the rising moon.

The wind outside the window was howling, carrying a coldness with it.

Ed turned his head toward the bed, and saw that Iris had already left. The bloodstains on the bedspread were the only proof of the events that had taken place.

Thinking back to his earlier words with Iris, Ed realized there had been a misunderstanding. He hadn't considered that possibility at all.

Iris had once mentioned wanting Ed to be her master, but Ed had just thought of it as a joke.

Looking at the bloodstains on the bed, Ed got up, dressed, and went outside. He arrived at Iris's room and was about to knock on the door, concerned about whether she needed anything.

Just then, Viktor appeared from the side and saw this moment. Viktor quietly reminded him, "Ed, today's Sunlight Magic device is for Iris's use. She should be in the middle of her training."

Ed lowered his hand, which had been raised to knock, and turned to look at Viktor. He could feel that Viktor's strength had significantly increased. It seemed that during his time away from Dorey City with Uncle Du, Viktor had been working hard on his training.

Viktor led Ed over to the front desk of the inn and quietly said, "Ed, you must have known that Dorey City was going to be in danger, which is why you had me, Iris, and Uncle Du leave for a while, right?"

Ed nodded. He could see that Viktor's face held not only a look of gratitude but also a deep sense of melancholy.

Viktor looked at Ed seriously and slowly said, "If there's ever danger like that again, can you let me stay? I want to help you with something."

"Soon, I'll be a low-tier Black Iron Hunter. By then, I should be able to help you with things, right?"

Ed thought for a moment and replied, "Once you become a low-tier Black Iron Hunter, you should join the Moon Eclipse Demon Hunter Association and join my team."

Viktor's eyes immediately widened. He stared at Ed, clearly excited.

But soon, the excitement faded from Viktor's face as a worried expression appeared. "I've heard the Moon Eclipse Demon Hunter Association's tests are very tough. I've only just become a Hunter Apprentice. I don't have much experience in swordsmanship or combat."

Ed walked over to Viktor's side, patted him on the shoulder, and said, "Your talent is better than most Hunters. As for the things you mentioned, I can arrange for someone to train you. Don't worry."

"Iris is the same. Once these few days pass, I'll find good teachers for both of you. If there's time, I can also help you train."

Viktor clenched his fist and looked at Ed, unsure of what to say. All this time, Ed had been helping him, and his heart was filled with gratitude.

That was why Viktor had said that if there was danger next time, he wanted to stay and face it with Ed, rather than running away helplessly.

He wanted to become a real Hunter. Perhaps, before, Viktor wasn't entirely sure what it meant to be a real Hunter. But now, his goal was clear—he wanted to be a Hunter who could help Ed!

Viktor took a deep breath and nodded firmly. He knew he needed to train even harder so that one day, he could help Ed!

Soon, Viktor, now fully motivated, left Ed's side.

Ed returned to the Moon Eclipse Demon Hunter Association. The moment he walked in, Toronto, Ford, and Jade found him.

Jade, with a long face, said to Ed, "You don't know how busy I've been today! Ed, why don't you become the president of the Moon Eclipse Demon Hunter Association?"

Ed was taken aback. He didn't want to take on any leadership role. His Moonlight Team only had Toronto and Ford, and becoming the president of the association would surely mean dealing with many responsibilities.

Ed knew very well that his reputation and position had grown significantly since he first arrived in Dorey City. If he became the president of the Moon Eclipse Demon Hunter Association, the members would likely support him.

However, it felt like being asked to take over as the principal of a school after just over a month of being a student—like in his old world, where the school's director would ask a new student to take over the principal's role.

Jade sighed, "The association isn't in a good position right now. A lot of people are thinking of leaving. Ed, only you can stand up and restore the faith of the other members in the association."

Toronto and Ford both turned their gazes to Ed.

Just as Ed was about to respond, he saw a familiar figure standing in a corner. It was Melissa, who seemed like she had something to say to him.
