When Melissa escorted Ed back to his room, she said a few words specifically: "Rest well and regain your strength. I'll come find you tonight to ask for your help—you can't refuse, okay?"
"The investigation into the Moonlit Frost Poisonous Mist has taken up a lot of my time."
Ed weakly waved his hand. His energy had been completely drained. Despite spending two hours, he had only released the Blue Fire Seal a dozen times or so. Most of the two hours had been spent resting and recovering.
If this had been a real battle, Ed figured he wouldn't want to end up in such a weakened state. At most, he could use the Blue Fire Seal three times. After that, he would need to rest.
He had originally planned to visit Uncle Du, Viktor, and Iris today to check on their progress and see how their strength was developing.
As for Melissa's request for help, Ed was conflicted.
After all, as long as he could absorb the moonbeams from Melissa's body, his progress would increase rapidly, and he could become a Silver level mid-tier Hunter in a shorter amount of time. With increased strength, he'd be better able to protect himself from any future dangers.
However, ever since Melissa had guessed that he could absorb energy from the moonlight, her attitude toward him had noticeably become much warmer.
This warmth wasn't something Ed particularly liked. A large part of the reason was the terrible impression left on him by the fox woman sorcerer.
Just as Ed was thinking about whether or not to refuse Melissa, a wave of exhaustion hit him. He fought against the drowsiness and placed his fine steel sword and mithril sword under his pillow before finally falling asleep.
When he woke up later that evening, the moon had already risen.
Ed slowly got up, walked to the window, and was about to open it to meditate and absorb energy from the moonlight, to further enhance his strength.
However, as soon as he opened the window, he noticed a figure nimbly leaping from Melissa's window.
The figure was, of course, Melissa. She was wearing a large coat that tightly wrapped around her curvaceous body.
With the help of the moonlight, Ed could clearly make out the two distinct points of her chest.
He blinked in surprise, then took two steps back, positioning himself near the pillow at the edge of the bed. He placed his right hand behind his back.
Earlier in the day, he and Melissa had gone together to the training room. If anything unexpected were to happen, Melissa would definitely be under suspicion.
Now, it was nighttime, and Ed couldn't afford to be too careless. He needed to be on alert.
Melissa seemed to have sensed the wariness on Ed's face. Her expression became filled with sorrow, her rosy lips quivering slightly as she spoke softly, "What, do I make you nervous?"
"I'm a sorcerer with principles and boundaries," she continued. "If you're really that concerned, I can sign another contract with you. I won't force you to do anything."
After finishing her words, and without waiting for Ed to respond, Melissa pulled out a contract scroll and threw it to him.
Ed caught the scroll and examined it closely. The contract's contents were already written, and Melissa had signed her name in advance. It seemed she had been planning this during the day.
The terms on the scroll were quite reasonable, stating that she would study why Ed could absorb moonlight to enhance his strength, as long as it didn't harm or force him in any way.
Of course, when the research would begin or end would be entirely up to Ed, and he could terminate it at any time. In return, Melissa would provide any help she could. Should she need Ed's assistance, he had the right to refuse.
These terms were highly useful to Ed, and without thinking, he glanced up at Melissa. He saw her slowly open her coat, revealing her perfect figure. Every inch of her skin looked as smooth and delicate as jade, and under the moonlight, it seemed even more enchanting.
Melissa's body trembled, as if the moonlight made her feel cold. Sorcerers didn't have the same physical strength as Hunters.
Ed took a deep breath. In truth, when he saw the contents of the contract, he had already been moved.
However, he still had one more question to ask.
Ed's gaze shifted to Melissa's exquisite face as he asked slowly, "Has anyone like me ever existed in this world before?"
Melissa paused, her eyes widened for a moment, but instead of answering, she said pitifully, "The moonlight is making me uncomfortable. Could I sit on your bed?"
Her blue eyes made Ed subconsciously nod.
Then, Melissa walked over to Ed's side, gazing at him as she slowly sat down. Ed could clearly see all the details of her figure.
He took a deep breath. He had to admit that Melissa's charm and allure were simply too overwhelming.
Once Melissa sat down, she stretched her body, showcasing her perfect curves. The contours of her chest, waist, and hips were extraordinarily graceful, and with just a glance, it was easy to become completely entranced by her.
Melissa began to answer Ed's question. She said, "I once saw something in a very ancient book. A thousand years ago, an Elf Sorcerer from the Elf Kingdom encountered an ordinary human who could walk freely beneath the moonlight."
"That Elf Sorcerer immediately took that human back to the Elf Kingdom for research."
At this point, Melissa suddenly stopped.
Ed, curious, asked, "And then?"
Melissa's expression subtly shifted, almost as if she were sad, and she continued, "Then, the Elf Sorcerer's research delved into some terrifying taboo, and the entire Elf Kingdom suffered an unimaginable disaster."
"From that moment on, the once-powerful Elf Kingdom began to decay. Humans and other races began to rise, and now, no one knows where the remaining elves went."
Ed furrowed his brow. An unimaginable disaster?
He thought for a moment, then asked, "Was the Elf Kingdom very powerful a thousand years ago?"
Melissa nodded, then slightly lifted her head, gazing out the window as she spoke slowly, "This world is vast, and every race has its own powerful beings. Humans are Hunters, and elves are Elf Warriors."
"But the division of power is actually the same: Black Iron Level, Silver Level, Gold Level. These three levels are further divided into inferior, medium, and superior grades."
"Above the Gold Level are the Sun Level experts."
"A thousand years ago, the Elf Kingdom's Sun Level Elf Warriors outnumbered any other force, whether it was the human kingdoms, the Orc Kingdom, or the underground world."
Upon hearing this, Ed was left feeling confused. He had never heard of any of these names.
Sun Level above Gold Level? Elves? Orcs? The underground world?
Up until now, Ed only knew that he was in a small city under the control of the Holy City. It seemed that this world was much larger than he had imagined!
He would need to spend some time learning more about this world's vast array of information. Perhaps the old library would have related books.
Once Ed finished his thoughts, he realized that at some point, Melissa had lain down on his bed. She seemed a bit down, as though she didn't want to continue the conversation any longer.
Ed pushed his curiosity aside and signed his name on the contract scroll. He then gently handed it over to Melissa, who was lying on the bed.
To his surprise, Melissa took the scroll and casually tossed it aside.
She quietly gazed at Ed, and in her blue eyes, there was an indescribable emotion. Melissa softly spoke, "Ed, come here, hold me."
Before Ed could respond, Melissa reached out, pulled him onto the bed, and then, like an octopus, wrapped her arms and legs tightly around him.
Ed felt the softness of Melissa's chest against him. Slowly, he extended his hand and gently patted her back.
Ed could clearly feel Melissa's body stiffen for a moment, as if she was surprised, almost as if she hadn't expected Ed to do this.
Soon, under Ed's gaze, Melissa's blue eyes began to gradually turn red. At the same time, her body became more supple, and her legs clung tightly to Ed's thighs, constantly rubbing against them.
Melissa's voice carried a moist and longing quality, like a moan. Her rosy lips gradually drew closer, stuck out her tongue, pried open Ed's mouth, and then kissed it directly.
Ed responded quickly, and his reaction diverted Melissa's attention.
Melissa's body began to move slowly beneath Ed. Soon, Ed felt a warm and moist sensation, and from time to time, Melissa's tongue touched it.
This made Ed subconsciously close his eyes. He couldn't stand it any longer.
The next moment, Ed directly held Melissa down. Melissa cooperated and spread her legs wide. Immediately after, a trace of pain flashed across Melissa's beautiful face, followed by excitement and joy, with a touch of confusion.
Melissa tried hard to control her voice and said intermittently, "Ed, just like last time, yes, hold me hard."
Without a moment's hesitation, Ed picked up Melissa directly. At this point, Melissa was completely out of control. She held Ed's back tightly with both arms, and her body began to tremble slightly.
With each impact, Ed could clearly see the muscles in Melissa's abdomen cramping.
It's unknown how much time has passed. At Melissa's pleading, Ed was finally completely released!
