[Temperance Of Green, Imperial Wood Barrier].
The spherical, dark-yellow orb of corruption natured spiritual energy collided with the Fragment Of Barrier. The five entwined trees, each the width of small automobile resisted the effects of the corruption natured spiritual energy for all of seven seconds, before shattering beneath the obscene weight behind the Spell.
The lush green leaves manifested from the imperial wood barrier grew yellow and desiccated, drying up and cracking into fine dust. The thick wooden trunks that formed the basis for the physical barrier turned black and rotten as vein-like patterns of corruption stretched up and down the length of Jon's Spell.
The Fragment Of Barrier withstood the might of an overloaded Knight Ranked Spell for several seconds before shattering in a violent and gory explosion of wooden shard and leaf fibres.
Despite the inherent corrupting nature of the projectile, it still possessed some sort of imaginary mass behind it. The dark-yellow orb of corruption pierced straight through Jon's [Temperance Of Green, Imperial Wood Barrier] losing roughly a third of its total size in the process.
[Light Of Thou Consecrated Shield].
Wilheim had condensed the effects of his Fragment Of Wall, limiting it to just a single flat surface rather than a curved dome-shaped spiritual construct. It allowed Wilheim to significantly overload the Spell, without expending additional castle natured spiritual energy on enveloping the entirety of Ashvattha Rana.
The floresiensis gritted his teeth, keeping one of his hands extended forward, channelling castle natured spiritual energy, while another one pointed to the ground beneath his feet. Although Sariel beside him was unable to comprehend the words that he was saying, it was obvious that Wilheim was chanting another Spell while keeping [Light Of Thou Consecrated Shield] active.
[Mountain Art; Earth Forest Erosion].
Before the orb of corruption came into contact with Wilheim's Fragment Of Wall, the floresiensis manifested numerous jagged pillars of rock and stone from the space in front of him. The spiritual energy expenditure of the Spell scaled with the amount of pillars manifested, so Wilheim focused on creating larger stone constructs rather than numerous smaller ones.
Mimicking the width that Jon had used to create his own imperial wood barrier, Wilheim's five [Mountain Art; Earth Forest Erosion] pillars possessed the same thickness as a small car back on Earth. Although Wilheim intended for his Spell to further slowdown the effects of the dark-yellow orb of corruption, it possessed neither an inherent repulsing effect, or the organized structure of a Fragment Of Wall or a Fragment Of Barrier.
The floresiensis felt his eyes widen as the orb crashed into his [Mountain Art; Earth Forest Erosion], shattering the five earthen pillars as if they were crafted from paper rather than solid stone. The manifested Spell construct turned black and rotten, despite stone being inanimate and without life.
The mountain natured spiritual energy that created the five stone pillars had the spiritual energy within it distorted and broken upon contact with the corruption natured spiritual energy. It passed through the Fragment Of Pillars without even so much as losing a fraction of its size or imaginary mass, subsequently colliding with the [Light Of Thou Consecrated Shield] beneath it.
A resounding boom echoed throughout the riverbank, the Malum Hobgoblin slashing a few more of the wooden tendrils Xochitl extended towards it, inflicting over a dozen debuffs and afflictions in the time it took to blink.
Wilheim felt an imaginary force push him back several inches, the weight behind this dark-yellow orb almost knocking him backwards. The sheer amount of strength behind this single Knight Ranked Spell was astounding in the eyes of the short hazelnut-skinned man, almost forcing him onto his knees, his physical strength almost inadequate to hold up his Fragment Of Wall.
Wilheim urged his Castle Mana Core to churn out even more castle natured spiritual energy while trying to resist the effects of the sphere of corruption. He could see the point where the sphere had impacted [Light Of Thou Consecrated Shield] turn a dark, tainted yellow, the lustrous golden walls of his Fragment Of Wall violated by corruption natured spiritual energy.
With each passing moment the sphere of corruption grew smaller as more of it was expended to pervert Wilheim's Fragment Of Wall. More spiritual energy was expended to keep the wall activated, which in turn expended more corruption natured spiritual energy contained with the Spell.
The floresiensis felt his hand violently tremble as he continued to hold up the weight of this Knight Ranked Spell. He could feel the corruption natured spiritual energy creep through the minute gaps in the [Light Of The Consecrated Shield], faint motes of dark-yellow light dripping through the illusory castle walls as if rain dripping through the gaps of an old tin roof.
Wilheim felt his breath hitch and the muscles in his arm ache before feeling the familiar presence of shield natured spiritual energy beside him.
[Thou Shalt Stand Before the Boundless Maw].
Wilheim glanced towards Sariel seeing that her mouth-shaped construct of shield natured spiritual energy bloomed as if a flower petal in early spring. The Fragment Of Devour opening its hungry maw and consuming the corruption natured spiritual energy that it came into contact with.

Instantaneously, Wilheim felt the pressure placed on his Fragment Of Wall lessen by more than half, Sariel sharing the burden of its weight, relying on her Vashti-Orchid Physique to enhance her physical capabilities. The two different spiritual shield constructs did not resist one another, castle natured spiritual energy and shield natured spiritual energy possessing a unique synergy despite their inherent differences.
Both of their hands extended forward, Wilheim continued to hold the sphere of corruption in place, preventing it from striking Ashvattha Rana. The buff generated from [Light Of Thou Consecrated Shield], [Bronze Protection], buffing the effects of everyone behind his Fragment Of Wall.
Sariel, feeling all of her abilities with the Spell Trait, enhanced through the effects of [Bronze Protection], felt a seed of courage sprout within her chest, gaining the confidence to cast another Spell while having her Fragment Of Devour consume the corruption that dared to encroach upon [Thou Shalt Stand Before The Boundless Maw].
Although her Shield Mana Core did not possess an enhancement to the maximum amount of mana that it could contain, her Sitri-Spatial Heart and Vashti-Orchid Physique allowed Sariel a level of flexibility that her brother, Shamael did not possess.
Her newest Mana Core possessed but a single ability, granted to her by Jon not even an hour ago, but it was one that Sariel had not thought to use until right this moment.
"That which was, is the wellspring that births knowledge and enlightenment. That which is, becomes the foundation for memory and experiences. That which will be, is the mournful dream which accompanies the birth of beautiful nightmares".
[Fragment Of Spirit] [Thou Art The Monarch Of Lotus And Dreams] (Lotus, Spirit, Mutation, Spell, Enhancement, Buff)
Effect (Mortal): Transform the mortal natures of one's spirit into that of a Lianhua-Lotus Spirit. Dramatically increases maximum mana and mana regeneration. Dramatically increases resistances towards spirit-related damages, afflictions, and debuffs.
Chant then suffuse your spirit with the harmonic qualities of a thousand-year lotus spirit. Manifest a blooming lotus mandala behind a willing target, capable of regenerating an amount of spiritual energy, equal to one tenth the maximum amount within your Lotus Mana Core. Grants an instance of [Thousand Lotus Blessing].
[Thousand Lotus Blessing]: The next ability with the Spell Trait cast will have their spiritual energy expenditure reduced by half.
Wilheim felt the spiritual energy within each of his Mana Cores dramatically rise, lotus natured spiritual energy gathering behind him and forming an intricate flower-patterned mandala behind him. Roots and tendrils formed geometric patterns across the spiritual construct, while seeds and lotus petals formed various "pools" in which spiritual energy flowed into him.
His Castle Mana Core, which had been more than half empty after enduring the dark-yellow orb of corruption natured spiritual energy for thirty seconds, had been restored by more than a third, his eyes widening as he turned towards Sariel.
The green-skinned satanas glanced towards her short, hazelnut-skinned companion, giving him a small nod while continuing to devour the spherical construct held aloft before them.
The one who had thrown the orb towards them noticed that the explosion it associated with its Fragment Of Ruination and Fragment Of Mass had not yet occurred. The Knight Ranked beast, narrowing its beady-black eyes towards the two figures enshrouded behind an illusory golden castle wall and a mouth-shaped spiritual shield gnashed its teeth before raising its blood-flesh hatchet above its head and throwing it towards Wilheim and Sariel.
The monstrous form of the Malum Hobgoblin was saturated in blood natured spiritual energy for a moment, enhancing its physical strength and causing its arm to bulge unnaturally, as if all the blood in its body flowed into that single limb.
With a bestial grunt, the Knight Ranked hobgoblin hurled its Fragment Of Weapon and Fragment Of Flesh towards Sariel and Wilheim. Only Jon with his [Monstrous Intuition], and Shamael with his [Perception Maledictum] could perceive the moments of the axe as it flew through the air towards the shield constructs of spiritual energy.
Jon's figure flickered from where he once stood, the mutterings of a chant on his lips as he raced across the battlefield.
"Sister look out!" Shamael's voice echoed from behind the Earthen Treasury Womb.
The floresiensis and satanas did not even realize what the Malum Hobgoblin had done, just now noticing a dark-crimson blur flash towards them from across the riverbank. Wilheim, relied on [With Eyes That Pierce Through The White Winter Plain] to perceive the System generated details of objects or individuals through the use of a Spell.
It did not affect his perception or his instincts or intuition.
He could see with perfect clarity the abominable-looking axe, shaped from blood, flesh and bone. Yet given that he was still focusing on using [Light Of Thou Consecrated Shield] to hold up the orb of corruption natured spiritual energy, he was unable to react without damning himself in the process.
The floresiensis opened his mouth to speak, about to activate his Fragment Of Transcendence before-.
[Imperial Spear Art; Divine Spear Extinction]
Sariel and Wilheim both watched as a familiar figure stood before them. Sections of his once-white clothing had been dyed red with blood, his brown-coloured hair tied up into a messy looking ponytail.
This figure carried two spears, one emanating the faint scent of cedarwood, the other graced with the phantasmal hum of a thulian firmament. Although Assail had been a familiar sight to the others present around the camp, Wilheim could not help but feel his mouth drop in shock, seeing the pink-coloured Luin in Jon's other hand.
'Jon… he has two summoned weapons?!' Wilheim thought to himself.
Wilheim and Sariel both watched as Jon raised his bright neon-green spear in one hand, slashing out with a ferocious might. The Spear Of Verdant Cedar hummed with both wood natured spiritual energy and spear natured spiritual energy, as the Fragment Of Spear worked in tandem with one of his other fragments.
The eighteen-year-old grinned, seeing that the axe was mere metres away from him at this point. He was confident in not just the effect description of his abilities, but in his capacity to control and manipulate them.
It was then that the effects of his Fragment Of Eradication manifested itself in reality.
Just as Jon slashed out with Assail, his Fragment Of Eradication formed an enormous thirty-foot-long imitation of the Spear Of Verdant Cedar, manifested from spear natured spiritual energy.
The [Imperial Spear Art; Divine Spear Extinction] mimicked the movements that Jon made with Assail, slashing forward and carving a deep green gash in the space in front of Jon. The moment his spear natured spiritual energy construct came into contact with the Fragment Of Weapon and Fragment Of Flesh, it shattered, causing the Malum Hobgoblin to screech in agonizing pain.
