Nightmares Paradise [LITRPG System Integration]

Chapter 83 Armour And Invidia

Although Jon possessed numerous abilities related to mana regeneration, the effects of his three Mutation Trait abilities increases his natural ability to regenerate spiritual energy. With his newfound understanding of the Hades-Sagacity Shadow, Seir-Glacial Heart, and Longinus-Lancea Spirit, each one increased his natural mana regeneration by a factor of one point five times its original amount.

That is to say, that if Jon regeneration one percent of his maximum mana per five minutes, instead he would regenerate one point five percent of his maximum mana instead.

This process did not expend spiritual energy, although did not extend beyond each Mana Core that the mutation was associated with.

It was one of the downsides of Mutation Trait abilities in that they were unable to effect the Mana Cores outside of the one the fragment that manifested the ability was integrated into.

[Green Is The Flesh, As Red Is The Blood] on the other hand was an ability that affected all of his integrated Mana Cores.

[Fragment Of Regeneration] [Green Is The Flesh, As Red Is The Blood] (Wood, Regeneration, Ability, Recovery)

Effect (Mortal): Dramatically increases natural healing speed and recovery rate. Moderately increases stamina regeneration and mana regeneration. Promotes physical growth.

Although [Green Is The Flesh, As Red Is The Blood] expended wood natured spiritual energy in order to be activated, its effects of its "mana regeneration" were not limited to just his Wood Mana Core. It was perhaps the greatest thing about the Fragment Of Regeneration, other than the powerful self-regeneration effect the ability possessed.

The amount of spiritual energy regenerated from [Green Is The Flesh, As Red Is The Blood] was also more than his Hades-Sagacity Shadow and Seir-Glacial Heart. At least, after factoring in the total increase to mana regeneration across all his integrated Mana Cores.

Dressing himself underneath the canopy of Ashvattha Rana, Jon could feel his Fragment Of Regeneration work in tandem with his various mutations, gradually producing more and more spiritual energy.

Jon could feel that the increase to his mana regeneration was roughly one point two-five times the original amount.

These effect however, was multiplicative, rather than additive.

Stacking on top of the natural increases brought about through his Mutation Trait abilities.

The regeneration of his wood natured spiritual energy was slower in comparison to his Knowledge Mana Core, Ice Mana Core, and Spear Mana Core. Due to the fact that [Green Is The Flesh, As Red Is The Blood] required spiritual energy in order to be activated, the regeneration of his Wood Mana Core was even slower than his War Mana Core.

From a mathematical perspective, his Knowledge Mana Core, Ice Mana Core, and Spear Mana Core all had one point eight-seven-five times the natural mana regeneration. His War Mana Core a mere one point two-five, and his Wood Mana Core expending more spiritual energy that what [Green Is The Flesh, As Red Is The Blood] was capable of regenerating.

Although, there were additional factors at play.

The combination of [Golden Warmth] and [Naraka Of Protection] also worked to regenerate his lost spiritual energy. Each one of them affected all of his Mana Cores, although the latter drew upon his knowledge natured spiritual energy.

The mathematics somewhat bored Jon, finding that after his enlightenment, his instincts just as sharp as whatever logical reasoning Jon normally found himself thinking about.

'Buffs tend to be more powerful than passive effects, but in turn are short-lived and often temporary,' Jon hummed to himself, throwing away his old, tattered clothes and replacing them with one of his more formal pieces of clothing.

Jon had been fortunate enough to be transported to the System Introduction with the vast majority of his belongings on his person. Although he did not have quite the selection of clothing that he would have liked, there was enough to wear something different after a few days, and with the integration of an Ice Mana Core, no longer required to use jumpers or jackets during the evenings or overnight.

He had shared said pieces of clothing with Avahni and the others, each of whom were grateful for the chance to wear something else while waiting for their own clothes to dry.

Adjusting the collar of his shirt, Jon let out a loud sigh, feeling the combined effects of [Golden Warmth], [Niraya Of Protection], [Green Is The Flesh, As Red Is The Blood], and [Green Shall Become The Ode To Eternity] working to regenerate the wounds that had been inflicted upon him.

Jon unconsciously tucked his shirt into the waistband of his pants, noticing that Ashvattha Rana extended one of her lower branches towards her, his backpack hooked on the end behind a particularly thick gathering of foliage. Raising his eyebrows, Jon stared at the Earthen Treasury Womb, watching as she deposited the bag at his feet.

The emanations of numerous different kinds of spiritual energy could be felt from within the backpack.

"Would you like to hear my recommendations first, or after you examine your loot, Jon?" asked the bodhi tree, noticing that Jon had already reached into the bags, swiftly pulling out a handful of different fragments. Ashvattha Rana noticed that Jon had plucked out four specific fragments, before shouting the names of each of his fellow companions.

"Avahni, catch!", shouted Jon, causing the other three humanoids around the fire to lift their heads, watching as Jon threw each of them a specific fragment. Shamael almost dropped the fragment that Jon had thrown him, while Sariel did, scrambling to pick it up before it rolled into the campfire.

Avahni caught the Fragment Of Fish in two hand, her eyes widened as she cradled the familiar-looking fragment in both hands.

Wilheim swiped the Fragment Of Grace in one hand, raising an eyebrow as he gave Jon a small thankful nod, integrating the fragment mere moments after catching it.

Shamael leaned backwards in an attempt to catch the Fragment Of Heart that Jon had thrown towards him, almost falling off the log he was sitting on.

And Sariel dropped the Fragment Of Spirit thrown towards her, her eyes widening as the gemstone bounced off her foot and started rolling towards the fire right in front of her. The green-skinned satanas rushing to grab it before it continued into the burning embers.

Avahni, Wilheim, Shamael and Sariel all stared at Jon dressed in pure-white dress shirt tucked into a pair of formal pants. His brown-coloured hair had grown several inches over the past few months, stretching down below his neck even after being tied back into a messy-looking ponytail.

Jon no longer required glasses after integrated the Fragment Of Eyes and obtaining his Minerva-Sagacity Eyes, his once bright, green-coloured eyes gaining a slight golden tint to them ever since.

He was dressed well, wearing these clothes for the first ever time after arriving within the System Introduction. Jon had lost a couple of shirts, some slashed to pieces and others burnt on the sleeves. While Jon still had quite a number of clothes remaining, the eighteen-year-old found himself wondering whether or not it was possible to obtain more clothes.

"There are specific fragments that can help create objects and items Jon. Although, I do not know how willing you would be to integrate them given what other abilities you still desire," said Ashvattha Rana, allowing even Titus Claudius and Ru Luan Di to hear her.

The little ginseng king sent Jon a glance, watching as his summoner continued to stare at the familiar Fragment Of Fish in her hands. Although Ru Ruan Di knew that Jon had more fragments in his possession, he had given Avahni this specific one, knowing how valuable it was for the lutin.

It was an obviously calculated move, but one not done with malicious or sinister intent in mind. It had taken Ru Luan Di quite a bit of time to get used to the friendliness and utilitarian mindset of the young human known as Jon.

Ru Luan Di half suspected that the human had some sort of grand master plan in mind but realized that Jon was perhaps a more practical sort of individual. The strength of the group is stronger than the strength of a single individual.

Although Ru Luan Di was somewhat worried about the presence of the White Lady Of The Winter Castle, now that Avahni had summoned Xochitl, she could focus her attention on obtaining another Fragment Of Ichthyosaur and summoning Ler Setanta.

The Incarnation Of The Hunt would perhaps prove to be her strongest offensive summon, surpassing that of the Voracious Wood-Swallowing Mangrove even without a Memento Source Fragment.

Pausing for a few seconds, the little ginseng king let out a small sigh, before shrugging his shoulders and lifting his head towards the approaching human.

"A Fragment Of Creation would guarantee the manifestation of an ability that can create spiritual items. Fragments Of Forge or Fragments Of Sewing would produce a stronger ability, although with a significantly more narrowed effect," Ru Luan Di admitted, watching as Jon raised an eyebrow.

"Fragment Of Creation? How interesting," Jon muttered to himself, placing his bag on the ground while cradling a handful of different fragments. Their eyes drawn to the lustrous-coloured gemstones in his hand, placing them on the ground beside him as he pulled out another handful of fragments.

The eyes of everyone present went wide as Jon continued to pull more and more fragments out of his backpack. Their mouths dropped as they all started counting within their minds, Sariel and Shamael looking on in a combination of awe and amazement as Jon produced more than fragments than both of the Lemnos siblings had integrated in total.

Jon had in his possession a total of thirty-one fragments which he had accumulated over the past three months.

Some were from his fight against the white, hound-faced bear, while others from his fight against Han Of The Red Wind. The remaining fragments were obtained from the assortment of hunts he had done in order to bring back food for the camp. The prey that Jon had chosen were relatively easy to take down, and with [Eyes Through The Looking Glass] Jon could see whether or not a particular beast had fragments that interested him.

Not to mention the Earth Mana Core and Salvation Mana Core he had also obtained from Han Of The Red Wind, in addition to a Fungi Mana Core and Shield Mana Core he had obtained from an ugly-looking frog creature and a weird peacock-looking beast.

His fight against the Thick-Flesh Hound had given him a Lava Mana Core and Gluttony Mana Core and seven, now six fragments after integrating the Fragment Of Weapon he had picked up.

That was six Mana Cores and thirty-one different fragments he had stored up.

Jon continued to reach into his bag, pulling out numerous handfuls of fragments. After a certain point Wilheim just stopped being surprised at how many fragments Jon had taken out of his bag, while Avahni noticed a handful of familiar fragments that she could use to summon her remaining companions.

Even the enormous form of Titus Claudius could not help but focus on numerous specific fragments before him, while Ru Luan Di just stared at Jon, the mind of the little ginseng king racing as the number of fragments Jon had shown exceeded fifty.

After defeating the nine Malum Goblins that attacked him, Jon had obtained a total of thirteen different Mana Cores, and additional copies of both an Earth Mana Core and Darkness Mana Core.

On top of this, there was a total of forty-one fragments integrated across the nine Malum Goblins. One of them was a Mortal of the Sixth Initiation with a total of sixteen integrated fragments, while the weakest was a Mortal of the First Initiation with just three integrated fragments.

Between the other seven goblins, Jon had obtained twenty-two other fragments, some of which were copies of each other. There were two Fragments Of Claw, two Fragments Of Fear and three Fragments Of Bone.

The sheer number of fragments and Mana Cores that Jon had in his possession was astounding. The eighteen-year-old could not help but narrow his eyes at the vast assortment of jewels and gemstones laying at his feet, plucking out two fragments in particular and examining them under the flickering orange glow of the campfire before him.

Fragment Of "Armour" discovered.

Fragment Of "Invidia" discovered.
