Sariel Of Lemnos thought that her world was ending.
Even after escaping that ashen-skinned abomination of a living being, her brothers wounds refused to close. The young female satanas continued to whisper the chant for her healing Spell, even going so far as to overload the ability with as much life natured spiritual energy as she possibly could, albeit to no avail.
She did not know what manner of ability that horrid-looking gargantuan humanoid struck her brother with but sensed the faintest traces of corruption from within the wound. His blue skin was now several shades paler than what it normally was, and the flesh around the wound had started to turn black, dark vein-like patterns forming around the shoulder.
Sariel thought that the gods themselves had blessed her when she appeared beside Shamael after exiting the Pure Room. Sariel thought that the "System" might have separated her from her brother, placing the two of them in completely different small realms.
Mere moments after entering the small realm, the System had granted both Sariel and her brother a handful of Mortal Title Fragments, although the satanas siblings did not know what to do with them.
Mortal Title Fragment "Gemini": Through the circulation of spiritual energy, one is always able to find their other half.
Mortal Title Fragment "Dyad": Increases the compatibility between oneself and their other halves integrated Mana Cores associated spiritual energy.
Mortal Title Fragment "Duo Dominus": Increases the effectiveness of all abilities while in the presence of their other half.
Even before the System, Sariel was always able to tell what direction her brother was in, while Shamael was able to feel some of the emotions his sister was feeling, even across vast distances.
It was a strangeness that their parents had told them never to tell anyone. Twins were an omen of misfortune amongst satanas, so Sariel had taken it upon herself to assume the role over the older sister. This uniqueness that the two of them shared, was expressed in the form of these three Mortal Title Fragments.
Shamael had received something similar, although the effects of his Mortal Title Fragment Gemini were slightly different to hers.
Sariel felt her brother clutch at her hand, giving her a smile which did not quite reach his eyes. The green-skinned satanas wished with all her heart and soul that she could possess her brothers capacity for feeling emotions. There was nothing that her abilities could do right now, but if she could just take away some of his pain then…
"Do not worry yourself sister. The festering black blood born from my Antheia-Rot Marrow can fight the various debuffs and afflictions that the ashen-skinned creature managed to inflict on me," Shamael spoke, the coarseness of his voice unable to conceal the emotion in his heart.
Despite his words, Sariel knew that her brother was lying to her. The creature that had inflicted these debuffs and afflictions onto Shamael was somehow much stronger than the two of them combined.
Even without its minions following it around, that enormous fat-covered beast was enough to push herself and Shamael around like it was nothing, stacking dangerous poison-related debuffs and corruption-related afflictions on Shamael faster than what either of them could cleanse.
Her Life Mana Core was incapable of cleansing multiple afflictions at once, and her Shield Mana Core was unable to resist even a single debuff before shattering. Physical shields or spiritual shields, neither of them was able to resist the strength of that ashen-skinned beast.
The Space Mana Core that she had obtained from defeating a strange gelatinous smile creature possessed only a single fragment, one that allowed her to make short-distance spatial jumps.
The Mana Core that her brother had chosen within the Pure Room, one Rot Mana Core allowed him to resist some of the effects that had been inflicted upon him. Several of his abilities, including those from his second Mana Core, one Curse Mana Core, granted passive resistances towards certain debilitating effects.
Their combination of Mana Cores allowed the siblings to inflict numerous effects upon their targets at range, while simultaneously being shield through the other sibling's barriers and shielding abilities.
That is, until the pair encountered that foul beast and his flock of followers.
Sariel clenched her brothers hand even tighter, his words pulling at the heartstrings within her chest.
'If only I was stronger,' Sariel thought to herself, 'If only I could obtain more fragments, more Mana Cores then perhaps Shamael might not be-.'
An unfamiliar voice echoed throughout the forest.
The green-skinned satanas immediately turned around, her eyes wide as her heart sunk further and further into her stomach. Sariel could not hear the voice of her brother behind her, the sound her heart thumping in her chest, drowning out anything else in front of her.
Sariel felt an overwhelming amount of fear and dread filling her veins. The young satanas' breath hitched as she turned around, the mutterings of a chant on her lips forgotten seeing that the figure that entered her vision was not quite the one that she was expecting.
The woman in front of her possessed an almost angelic sort of beauty. Even considering the strange colouration of her skin, or the thin, odd geometric tattoos that were drawn over the entirety of her body.

The litheness of her form was emphasized from the strange clothing material which clung to her body. The subtle curves of a woman were unmistakable in Sariel's eyes, and her gorgeous bright-green coloured hair made the young satanas feel slightly inferior just looking at this creature.
The soft, but warm smile on her face almost caused Sariel's heart to skip a beat. There was something about this creature that seemed the opposite of that ashen-skinned abomination from before, filling her mind and spirit with a sense of warmth and kindness that Sariel had not experienced before.
The green-skinned humanoid glanced towards the small plant-like creature that stood beside this angelic woman, the mysterious beauty raising an eyebrow towards the creature watching as it snapped off one of its arms, handing it towards the elfin woman.
This mysterious beauty took a single bite of the root-shaped limb before extending it towards Sariel and her brother, gesturing for the latter to do the same.
Sariel glanced towards her brother, watching him wince as he adjusted the position of his neck to look back at her. The pair of siblings shared a look, before Shamael muttered something in between breaths.
"Let me eat it… it isn't as though I cannot get any worse," Sariel gave her brother a sharp narrowed glare, before turning back and facing the pale-skinned humanoid several metres away.
This mysterious woman still extended her hand forward, holding the root-like limb. She had never once stopped smiling, but not in a manner that scared Sariel, instead filling her with the smallest iota of hope.
Stepping forward, trying to appear confident, Sariel approached this woman carefully, trepidation evident within each step she took. The pale-skinned woman did not move, even as she approached, despite the fat plant creature hiding behind her leg, clinging to the woman as if a child holding onto their mother.
Stepping within five feet of the woman, Sariel lunged, grabbing the root limb from her hand and retreating backwards, her eyes never once leaving this stranger's figure. Handing the root to her brother behind her, Sariel's gaze lingered on this strange but beautiful woman for a few moments, before she returned her attention back towards Shamael.
His countenance appeared even more pale than it did just a few minutes before. The lines of corruption stretching from the wound on his shoulder down towards the rest of the limb, reaching almost halfway down the elbow.
Clutching her brother's hand, Sariel gave him a half-hearted smile.
"If this doesn't work brother… she can accompany you to the underworld," said Sariel, causing Shamael to let out a weak chuckle. The blue-skinned satanas gave his sister a nod before taking a bite out of the root, his eyes widening slightly as his mouth moved to take another.
Sariel glanced towards this green-haired stranger, watching as she held that fat plant creature in her arms, patting its head as if cradling a child. The faintest traces of spiritual energy surging from her form, its nature somewhat like the spiritual energy born from her Life Mana Core, albeit with additional conceptual connotations.
Her eyes narrowed for a moment before turning back towards her brother.
Shamael had almost completely devoured the root, allowing the juice and fluid within it to dribble down the sides of his mouth, as if he were an infant or savage devouring his meal. Sariel could only manage to blink once before watching Shamael swallow the last bite of this plant allowing the fire natured spiritual energy within it to surge throughout his physical body.
The effects of Ru Luan Di took root within Shamael. Considering that Avahni was actively overloading both [Hold Thy Hand Child, Green Is The Colour Of Our Lineage] and [Ru Luan Di; Liver Of The Ginseng King], the effectiveness of each ability was increased dramatically.
[Fragment Of Ginseng] [Ru Luan Di; Liver Of The Ginseng King] (Summon, Fire, Ginseng, Recovery, Buff)
Effect (Mortal): Perform a ritual to summon Ru Luan Di; Liver Of The Ginseng King. Ru Luan Di is an infant ginseng king born from the lineage of an enlightened demonic ginseng and a transcendent xian. Ru Luan Di dwells within the liver after being summoned.
Ru Luan Di is capable of snapping off its own limbs and then feeding them to a willing target. The target will temporarily receive a dramatic increase to their natural healing speed and recovery rate. The target will have their resistances towards fire-related damages and debuffs temporarily increased. The target will be periodically cleansed of debuffs and afflictions for a short duration after eating.
The blue-skinned satanas felt a comfortable warmth grow within his chest, extending outwards to the rest of his body. His breathing grew from short and weak to heavy and ragged, as beads of sweat started forming along his brow and neck.
The soothing warmth within Shamael's chest grew into something greater, more passionate, more fervent as the young man felt a searing pain emanate from his shoulder, as if someone had struck his wound with a burning rod of iron. Shamael was unable to hold back his cries, groaning loudly as his sister turned back towards the stranger.
"What are you doing to him!? You're hurting him!" Sariel cried, watching as this green-haired stranger silently observed the pair. Her concentration was placed on the ginseng in her arms, listening to him as he worked to resolve the situation within Shamael's body.
Sariel heard the woman speak, taking note of how attractive her voice sounded before hearing an unfamiliar voice echo from the creature in her arms. It sounded somewhat immature, the voice of an adolescent perhaps, and spoke in a language to foreign for her to understand.
The woman took a step closer towards Sariel and her brother, letting the root creature in her arms onto the ground. This cute but stubby looking animal waddled over from the protection of this mysterious woman, standing in front of Sariel, while gesturing towards her brother.
The female satanas wiped a few tears away from her eyes. The creature tried speaking with her, but none of the words that were coming out of its mouth made any sense to Sariel.
"What are trying to say? That you want me to let you touch my brother?!" Sariel asked, watching as Ru Luan Di paused in an attempt to register her words before vigorously nodding.
Sariel turned towards Avahni, who stood there motionlessly before giving her a small thumbs up. Considering that Sariel possessed opposable thumbs just like Jon and Wilheim, that the gesture might be somewhat similar in this creature's culture.
The satanas tilted her head to the side unsure of what this gesture meant but just looked down at the plant creature in front of her before giving it a small, somewhat imperceptible nod.
Ru Luan Di waddled over towards the blue-skinned alien, climbing up his body in an attempt to reach the wound on his shoulder. Taking a deep breath, Ru Luan Di placed his other "arm" root on the wound, his form surging with a violent and powerful fire natured spiritual energy.
Resonating with the existing spiritual energy within Shamael's form Ru Luan Di allowed the spiritual energy that flowed from Avahni into himself to burn through the afflictions and debuffs wracking Shamael. With a much more targeted healing, the infant ginseng king was able to burn out the corruption and vileness that had poisoned his patient, unfortunately causing immense pain as a result.
Shamael's screams echoed throughout the forest, catching the ears of a lone wandering ashen-skinned creature.
