My Favorite Game Followed Me!

Chapter 607

Anton just shrugged at Cedon's compliment and then asked the young supreme wizard a question that was on his mind while he was casting his spells.

"Is the attack tonight the standard?" Anton asked, and Cedon said it was.

"That was an extremely powerful army! Are we still fine?"

Cedon paused for a couple of minutes before answering Anton. It was as if the youngest Supreme Wizard that Anton had known was deciding to let him in on some sort of a secret.

"We are not. Mendoza was giving it all tonight and every night from the moment the Undead Coalition attacked. We knew that the Undead Coalition was not showing its full might yet. Our Invincible Wizards shared with us that the moment the Undead Coalition showed their might, Mendoza might fall. If Mendoza is alone, but we're not. New Drennor and Ormunda are with us. They had to be, since if we fall, New Drennor would be next, then Ormunda, and we know for a fact that those two kingdoms would prefer that the battle remain here at Mendoza. The wizards from both kingdoms are arriving, including the most powerful semi-divine wizards. Once they're all here, then the true battle will commence. For the moment, I highly recommend that you don't think about those things and concentrate on what you can do to help us."

Anton understood what Cedon was saying. Both of them, even though they were considered powerful wizards, were still not part of the true upper echelons of the three kingdoms, so the only thing they could do was to follow commands.

"Hey guys, I've heard some interesting information from below. The warriors kept saying that a group of powerful immortal warriors appeared and helped our defenders against the undead. They said that the warriors were extremely powerful and once the undead killed them, they would reappear after a few minutes," One of Anton's squad members said.

"What do they look like?" A female wizard asked.

"One was a powerful archer, the second humanoid looked like it was made out of shadow, the third one was a golem, and the rest were forest creatures like bears, wolves, and ravens. Even the ravens were said to be powerful enough to kill the lower undead," The wizard who shared the information said.

Anton realized that they were talking about his summons.

"Oh, those are my summons. Because of the long-range and magical enhancement of the arrays, I was able to summon my enhanced minions near where the warriors were and commanded them to defend Mendoza's melee fighters."

"You can summon beings from another dimension?" Cedon asked.

"They're not living beings. They're like mana constructs and their power reflected my capabilities," Anton replied.

"You are truly an impressive young archmage, Sir Sunders," One of the wizards said.

After that brief rest and conversation, they all went their separate ways to do their things or rest. Anton was not tired yet, so he decided to visit his old team.

While walking towards their old barracks, Anton thought of what Cedon said about the Undead Coalition. The young supreme wizard admitted that the invading undead were truly powerful and without the help of two other kingdoms, Mendoza's demise would have been inevitable. At first, he thought of sharing that tidbit with his previous captain and team, but then again, it would serve no purpose and might lower everyone's morale. Nobody wanted to know that they were on the losing team without any help from others. When he arrived at the barracks, he realized that his previous team's shift was not over yet, so he decided to go to where they were stationed.

Thankfully, the guards at the door did not mind him joining his previous team. Apparently, his team had shared with everyone that one of them was so powerful that he was assigned to be a member of a squad of supreme wizards, and when they learned that they were talking about Anton, they let him join his previous team and captain without any issues.

Captain Leonard and his previous squad members were idling about in the place where they were assigned since the undead had already retreated.

"Anton, why are you back here?! Did the wizards realize that you're useless and had thrown you out?" Menard asked while smiling.

"Funny. My shift was over the moment the undead retreated. Besides, I was the only one in my group who did not need to be replaced during the whole attack. Apparently, my magical stamina is out of this world since I'm able to cast spells nonstop for the whole five hours of the undead attack," Anton boasted.

That boast solicited jeers from every member of the squad. Surprisingly, even the three girls, Mauri, Fran, and Suvina, were there. Just like Anton, they joined the others when the undead retreated.

Even though they jokingly jeered Anton for his boast, everyone there knew for a fact that Anton was truly a powerful wizard.

"Hey, have you heard the rumors of powerful immortal beings that appeared in the central section of the wall that helped the warriors there?" Charlie asked, and everyone said that they did.

"One of them is a huge bear," Captain Leonard confirmed while looking at Anton.

The captain confirmed the rumor to be true, but his action pointed the fact one of the supposed immortal beings was a dire bear, and Anton had a Dire Bear summon.

"I admit it. The supposed immortal beings are my summons. The magic array on top of the wall in the central section was truly powerful. Not only did they allow me to cast my spells at an extremely long range, but they also magnified the effects of my spells. That's why I did not hide the fact that I have powerful summons anymore and summoned them to assist the defenders."

"I've learned from somewhere that those arrays consume a massive amount of mana stones. Thankfully, Ormunda and New Drennor kept sending countless resources to Mendoza," Suvina said.

"Of course, those two kingdoms would do everything in their power to assist Mendoza. If this kingdom falls, they're next," Kent said.

"Can we see your summons?" Mauri asked.

Anton summoned all of his summons so that his previous squad could see them. Everyone gasped at the small army of powerful beings that appeared beside them. It almost caused a commotion since the other people in their section were surprised at the appearance of Anton's summons. Thankfully, because of how powerful rumors were, most of them recognized the summons as the "immortal beings" that appeared to help the warriors in the center section of the wall.

"How powerful are they?" Fran asked while inspecting the summons.

"They're a reflection of how powerful I am, so you can consider each one of them almost as powerful as I am with certain limitations," Anton answered.

After a few more seconds of his previous team inspecting his summons, Anton dispelled them to avoid causing any more commotion since, apparently, the summons' presence was causing a lot of people's attention to turn to their corner.

Thankfully, his previous team did not ask why Anton hid his ability to summon powerful beings. They knew that he must have a valid reason why he did so, and that reason might no longer be applicable anymore so he was able to summon them freely. After a few more minutes of chatting with his previous captain and team, Anton left them to go to the apartment assigned to him to rest, but he intended to level up his ladder characters in the next few hours. He couldn't allow his Diablo II characters to remain stagnant for too long since, at that moment, his Diablo II system was the surest way for him to increase his power.
