Mage Legend

Chapter 650: Legendary and Legends in Legends Chapter Ten Turning Point_2

Lynch looked around at the devastation and noticed the crowd watching him with concern. With just two spells, he dispelled the thick smoke nearby and eliminated the residual static energy in the air. Zilvra and Soka waved at him, beckoning Lynch to come down quickly. As soon as the mage landed, he recounted the situation with the knight.

But first, the question still remained, what was Lynch himself doing just now?

Ever since Lynch comprehended the power of Legendary Magic and his self-created magic, he had always wanted to bring his explosive lightning power to its utmost potential. Only spells that could cause massive instantaneous damage and have formidable psychological deterrence against enemies were suitable for use on the battlefield. And his lightning possessed both these qualities.

The research on Lightning Storm was progressing smoothly; he could already trigger massive amounts of electrical energy in the air and control them to act in a specific manner to prevent harming his own people. However, he forgot one thing, that a spell must be truly used once to be considered successfully tested. When he realized this, the power of the Lightning Storm was almost reaching its explosive limit.

Fortunately, his power was strong enough to halt the flow of time at the last moment and cast the lightning's power far outside the tower. Despite Lynch's efforts to suppress this legendary spell's effects, the aftermath still blasted a large hole in the tower. Lynch brushed the ash from his hair and then inquired about the messenger's situation.

The Eye of Insight easily pierced through the outer envelope, which could be considered the world's least reliable protective layer. What was written inside was minimal but extremely urgent. The Five Realms Mountain Range, the fortress that Wislin was defending, was under the most ferocious attack, and the Snake-men had already started their actions.

While the elf council was being held, the giant serpents did not halt their moves and waited for the alliance to unite and grow stronger. He believed that striking first could gain a greater advantage and potentially skip many future attacks that would need to be launched. By capturing some key places, it could severely shake the confidence of all resistors around the world.

However, on the other hand, he did not have the army strength as strong as planned in his hands. The enhanced Snake-man Eggs and the Nine-headed Snake Lizard cultivated through a regeneration method did not reach his expectations in numbers. Thus, he did not have the strength to attack all strongholds, only launching attacks on places he deemed most critical.

Unfortunately, Wislin's Five Realms Mountain Range stronghold became the foremost target. The castle sat nestled between two unscalable mountains, with a valley entering from the north. After several kilometers of uphill, one could see the city walls made from countless massive rocks. It was built by ancient dwarves, but over time, it has come under human control. It commands the most important junction of the Five Realms Mountain Range because behind the castle lies the flattest area of the entire mountain range, which is also the junction of the borders of Haisas, Yim, Gunn, and the Southern Lord Country. In the other direction lies the plain of the sacred Pate, now the attack route of the Snake-men army.

Attacks from the ground, Wislin could handle; the double-sided pincer attack from the surrounding peaks was anticipated, with ambushes already set, causing no significant damage. However, the aerial assault by the Snake-men severely affected the morale of the defending forces. The Chimera and the Chaos Giant Condor formed a joint air force that completely suppressed, scattered, and crushed the griffin squadron. Wislin's only hope lay with the Wind Steed Archers of the Elf Kingdom, they were the only ones fast enough to provide assistance. He dispatched a squad of griffins to deliver this message, and now, the last messenger lay fallen on Lynch's castle.

Lynch set the letter aside; though its words were urgent, they still failed to describe the battlefield's situation. The mage walked to the injured one's side, placed his cold Refined Gold left hand on his forehead, and gently chanted a spell. He directly extracted the battle scenes from the messenger's mind related to the Five Realms Castle. The messenger merely shivered slightly, and under the formidable magic, revealed everything.

With a roaring sound, the All-Knowing Tower suddenly changed directions in mid-air, speeding up towards Wislin's location. Everyone felt the earlier tremor, and Morgan concernedly asked, "Lynch, did something happen to young Wislin?"
