Chapter 648: Legendary and Legends in Legends Chapter Nine Meeting (Final)_4

A streak of golden light vanished into the red horizon, followed by a massive explosion. Soka's weapon could shoot arrows at speeds faster than sound, but the resulting recoil could only be withstood by creatures as resilient as Angels. Soka took two steps back, then eagerly placed a hand on her forehead to check if she hit the mark.

The Knight was sitting on the griffin, enduring severe pain and struggling to evade the chimera's pursuit behind him. His mount was also injured, letting out agonized cries. The Knight knew that if he continued fleeing like this, he would inevitably be caught. He only prayed to find a safe haven before that happened.

A gust of wind blew past him, causing the weakened griffin to tilt to the side, nearly throwing the Rider off. He looked around and saw only a dark silhouette on the horizon, not resembling a cloud, but hovering in the sky (given human eyesight, this was his limit). A painful cry from behind drew his attention: one of the chimera's heads was pierced by a golden arrow, leaving a gaping hole, dangling limply from its neck. Instantly, the three pursuers distanced themselves from each other, anxiously glancing around.

"Oh! I'm amazing!" Soka cheered as she jumped up; the recent arrow far exceeded her maximum shooting range record. The little angel took out another Refined Gold Arrow from her back, carefully placed it on the bow, and muttered to herself, "Behave, little arrow, make sure to hit!"

With another explosion, the second head of the chimera was completely blown away, leaving only the goat's head, which hastily changed direction and quickly left the area.

The other two monsters hadn't yet decided whether to continue pursuing or retreat immediately when Soka's next two arrows pierced their wings. In a situation where they could only take a beating and not fight back, retreat was the only choice. The chimera, until now, had no idea who was attacking them. The little angel was completely beyond their visual range, freely playing to her advantage.

The chimera spitefully spat its last flame at the griffin, then immediately turned to leave. It wasn't that Soka wanted to let them go, but Uncle Morgan had said the Refined Gold Arrows she carried were extremely precious and rare, not to be used lightly. Since she had already achieved the goal of driving away the monsters, there was no need to waste them further.

The little angel clenched her fist and shouted loudly, "Come on, fly over quickly, just a little more." She was so anxious that she even forgot about flying over to help.

The griffin saw hope and used all its remaining strength to flap towards the mystical city in the sky. The Knight on its back had already passed out from the jostling and excessive blood loss, but the griffin, by nature, would never abandon the Rider it bore. So even though its vision was blurred by blood, it never stopped its struggling advance.

The two of them crashed onto the hard ground of the All-Knowing Tower with a thud, tumbling over several times before coming to a halt. Soka rushed over, and two gentle streams of Holy Light from her palms shone upon the griffin and the Knight. The mount whimpered softly and then contentedly looked at its Rider. Through the Healing Technique, the young man gained strength, narrowly escaping death. He opened his eyes, saw Soka's pure smile, and the white wings spread behind her.

"Angel, you are my Angel," he said this, and then fainted once more.

Soka pouted, seemingly a little upset. "I'm not yours!"
