Sayed watched the thin man above, sword in hand, as the man pointed a finger down at them. The villains had arrived on the scene, and it was time for them to fight after some time to monologue. Sayed already knew who his opponent would be. He appeared to have a relationship with one of them.
Thud. Crumble.
The strangely shaped man stood, his two impossibly large weapons sagging at his side. Sayed shook his head. Wielding two such large and unwieldy weapons would not work. Already, the man was off balance.
"Why do you wield such large weapons together? You would be far better with just one!"
He widened his stance, holding his khopesh above his head. He did not know his opponent yet, so he planned to prepare himself to react to any move the large man made. Even if unwise, the two weapons could kill Sayed if he were overconfident.
"Bragg's sword is my sword." The man's face reddened as he stepped forward, his hands moving the two weapons far too easily for their weight. "My hammer and his sword will break you for killing him!"
Sayed raised an eyebrow. To die in a sword fight was the nature of using a blade. It could very well be that Sayed had killed the man's brother, and the man had the right to be angry, even fight Sayed to avenge him. However, that did not change the fact that Sayed's memories were fractured.
"I am sorry, but I do not remember him." Sayed frowned. "Come at me, and I will answer you with my strength."
"You don't remember Bragg?" The man tilted his head. "Do you even remember Cragg?"
"If that is you, I do not," Sayed answered, narrowing his eyes. "If that is not you, I also do not."
Bam.
The man slammed his hammer hard into the ground before picking it up and slamming it down again. Cracks formed around him in the stones as he kept slamming his hammer down repeatedly. His face practically steamed as he kept slamming his hammer into the ground. Yet, not once did he do the same with his sword.
"You don't remember Cragg, and don't remember Bragg!" His voice shook. "You don't remember the murder, the defeat!"
Sayed kept his stance, his eyes following Cragg's arms as the man slammed the hammer down again and again. The others on the battlefield were forgotten. All he cared about was getting a gauge on Cragg's reach with his weapons. That would determine how Sayed fought him in the coming moments.
Bam.
"Jerk." Cragg wheezed as he finally slammed his hammer down.
He left the hammer on the ground, letting go of the handle before grabbing onto the hilt of his massive sword with two hands. The sword was long, wide, and curved, with a tiger's face etched along its blade. Sayed adjusted his stance as Cragg took up the sword and started for him. At least he could not say that Cragg had not taken his advice.
"Sword Crash!"
Cragg moved faster than Sayed expected, his muscles bulging large as he jumped into the air. Sayed adjusted his stance. The problem with an aerial attack was that there was nowhere to go once the person was airborne. Sayed intended to take advantage of that as he drew in a breath and lined up his sword.
"Demon's Divide!"
Swish. Thud.
He swung up in a horizontal slash as Cragg came down. The blade passed by Sayed as he sidestepped it, and he swung up into Cragg's arm. He hoped to catch the swordsman unaware, but Cragg was craftier than he appeared.
His sword slammed tip-first into the ground, and Sayed's own blade came up short. Cragg smiled as he swung his body on his hilt. He used the sword to throw his body to the side, landing on his feet beside Sayed while still maintaining his grip on the sword.
Sayed finished his swing, the momentum carrying his arm up and past where Cragg had been. He needed to move, but his body was still stuck in his technique. In truth, Cragg had gotten him with his odd movement. A grin spread across Cragg's round face.
"Fist Hammer!"
Cragg reached back with one hand, and Sayed threw one foot into the side of the sword. He only had an instant to get out of the way of the punch. Using the vertically stuck sword like a platform, he jumped sideways away from the fist, flipping backward on one hand before he fell to the ground in a roll. In all of it, he held onto his blade. He needed it if he wanted to avoid being overrun.
"Get back here!"
Sayed came back onto his feet and saw Cragg pulling his blade out from the ground. However, the end of the sword would not budge. It was stuck in the road's stones. Sayed jumped to his feet, charging forward without a moment lost. He needed to take Cragg down fast while the man was distracted.

"Demon's Thrust!"
He shot across the road with his blade held high, thrusting with his blade as he reached Cragg. Cragg did not manage to pull the sword out in time, so he was completely vulnerable. The attack should have landed.
"Shovel Shield!"
Ting.
A deep woman's voice echoed from below, and a rounded object interceded between Sayed's blade and Cragg's heart. Sayed grunted as he met the resistance, but the metal did not fold. Whatever it was, it was not going to let his attack through.
"Got it!' Cragg pulled out his sword, staggering to the side as the weight threw him off balance.
Sayed jumped back, his eyes roving in search of Cragg's mysterious savior. He saw no one, but he did notice a circular hole just in front of where Cragg had been.
"It seems I face not only the enemy above but one below as well." Sayed frowned. "Do not think that I will give up this fight easily."
In his periphery, he saw Alex, metal forming around his arm and facing off against the man from the rooftop. He did not see Bolton anywhere nearby. Sayed pursed his lips. He hoped Bolton had not chosen the coward's way when they met the opposition. Despite his words, he would not mind some help.
"You're going to regret that." Cragg pulled up his sword before jumping to the side and gathering his hammer. "It's best when brothers fight together, no matter what you say!"
Sayed watched him but kept his focus on the ground below. He needed some sign of the enemy's movements, and to do that, he would need to know where the enemy was.
"Trap Hole!"
The stones beneath him shifted, and Sayed's feet dropped out from under him as the street collapsed. A perfectly circular hole opened up beneath him. Sayed did not hesitate. He pushed both feet to the side, forcing himself to fall sideways over the hole.
"Oof!"
Clatter.
He caught himself on the edge, his feet dangling over the hole below. His sword clattered to the ground nearby, and he scratched at the stones to keep himself from slipping into the hole. Blood ran down his fingers as he struggled to get a grip on the road. He put his feet on the side of the wall and threw himself to safety on the ground nearby.
He had not even seen the attack coming. The fact that it came from below made it impossible to predict. In a way, it was a perfect attack, as long as his feet were planted on the ground.
Sayed reached for his sword as a shadow passed over him.
"Twin Crash."
Bang. Ting.
Sayed did not have time to block or dodge the attack. Thanks to his second opponent, he was on the ground and defenseless. However, the second attack never came. A gunshot rang out, and metal met metal above him as his bloody fingers closed around his blade.
Cragg stood frozen above him, weapons held over his head. A trail of blood fell from his ear and onto his shoulders. A bullet had grazed it, shot from an unknown source.
However, Sayed knew the shot and would not waste the opportunity.
"Thank you, brother," he whispered, grabbing the hilt of his sword and using it to stand. "You may not be able to assist me fully now, but you gave me the chance to stand and fight again."
Clatter.
"My ear!" Cragg yelled, dropping his sword to cup his hand around his ear.
"Demon's Divide!"
Sayed did not let the opportunity go to waste, cutting down with his sword into the man. Crag would not let him attack so easily, though, and blocked the blade with the metal haft of his hammer.
Ting.
The hammer held strong against Sayed's attack, and a push from Cragg with one arm forced him back and away from the man. Sayed caught himself on the ground nearby on his hands and knees. He needed more strength to face the man.
His blades alone would not be enough.
"I face a devious devil below and an avenging angel above." Sayed forced himself up from his knee, gritting his teeth against his sore muscles and burning fingers. "In my life, I have never needed a blessing more than now. Come to my aid, and I will show them your glory. Help me lay my enemies low, and I will give them why I praise your fire."
"What are you saying?" Cragg let go of his ear, taking his sword from the ground as he prepared to come for Sayed again.
Sayed ignored him. He had whispered the prayer because the words were between him and God alone. He took in a deep breath, willing his blade alight with the fires of God's wrath.
Yet, no flame came to his call.
"Do not think that makes me ungrateful." Sayed smiled, holding up his blade and taking that breath of aether to fuel his following technique. "I will still stand against these two. I will show you that I am worthy of a blessing."
Crumble.
The rocks beneath his feet shifted, and Sayed moved.
"Shovel Spear!"
"Demon's Thrust!"
He did not have time to aim his technique. His only goal was to get away from the spot. He shot up and away from the spot, slamming into a window with the force of his jump on the second floor of the counting house.
Crash. Sksh.
Glass hit the ground around him as he landed inside the building. Sayed rolled to a stop next to a large wooden desk, his arms and legs bleeding from the many cuts caused by the glass. However, he was up and off the ground, which was his plan's first step. It gave him some breathing room from the attacks from below. Now, he just needed to deal with Cragg.
"Brother's Slash!"
Crash. Sksh.
Sayed rolled away from the desk as a slash cut through the window, and Cragg came crashing through the same way he had. The bulky man rolled into the room, coming up on his feet with both weapons ready. Sayed stood as well. Minor cuts covered both of them, and neither looked like they would be long for the fight.
"Are you ready to fight without your ally?" Sayed asked as he took on a wide stance.
"I don't need help to beat you." Cragg grunted, holding his hammer forward and his sword behind.
They eyed each other for a moment, heaving heavy breaths as they watched the other's movements. With weapons like swords and hammers, all it took was one ill turn in a fight to die. Often, a fight with a blade was waiting for your opponent to make one critical error. Even someone like Cragg knew this, and Sayed could not afford to let down his guard.
"Twin Cross!"
"Demon's Gate!"
Ting.
They charged as one, Sayed's sword finding the center of the dual attack and holding it at bay for a moment before he jumped back to make space again. They both came away worse for the encounter, Sayed's right arm going numb from the force of the strike. He clenched his teeth as they both readied to go again.
If things kept going the way they were, Sayed would lose.
