Even tricking small animals, truly shameless.
Tang Rao despised himself in his heart.
"Chirp chirp chirp chirp."
The Little Hedgehog hopped onto his shoulder, wanting to snuggle with Tang Rao. The Little Fire Creature suddenly jumped out, startling the Little Hedgehog.
"Chirp—"
"Little Fire Creature, go back."
With a reprimanding shout from Tang Rao, the Little Fire Creature felt Tang Rao's anger and jumped back into the portable palace.
"That's your future good buddy, quite adorable, don't be afraid."
Tang Rao gently comforted, and the Little Hedgehog relaxed its tension.
"So if I give you a piece of meat, you'll help me find Heavenly Treasures?"
Tang Rao negotiated with the Little Hedgehog, who couldn't resist the temptation of roasted meat, placing its small hand on Tang Rao's. Tang Rao could actually understand the Little Hedgehog's thoughts.
"I want lots of meat, then I'll take you to find lots of Heavenly Treasures."
The Little Hedgehog grew up in the Tropical Jungle, knowing from a young age where all the good things were hidden, including the small items it hid in its den. Anyway, keeping them was pointless; giving them to Tang Rao was fine.
"Deal."
Reaching an agreement with the small immortal beast, Tang Rao took out five pieces of roasted meat and handed them to the Little Hedgehog. In no time at all, it gobbled the marbled meat down.
"Let's go, keeping one's word, I'll take you now."
The Little Hedgehog wiped the oil from its mouth, jumped onto Tang Rao's shoulder, and began giving directions.
"Follow the big river, upstream, my den is there."
Tang Rao moved quickly, and the Little Hedgehog gave directions just as fast. Together with Tang Rao, they were soon at the entrance.
"Can a hedgehog live in such a big hole?"
Looking at the magnificent entrance, Tang Rao couldn't believe it was the home of a little creature.
"Of course, I am the wealthiest immortal beast in the Tropical Rainforest."
Talking about wealth, the Little Hedgehog looked quite proud.
"So exaggerated! Whether you're really that wealthy is yet to be seen."
Tang Rao's provocation worked well on the Little Hedgehog. It opened the entrance effortlessly: "Go in and see, and still say I'm not wealthy; then I'd believe your words."
The Little Hedgehog walked ahead, Tang Rao behind, only to discover the Little Hedgehog had so many Deep Sea Dragon Fish Eyes.
"Where did you get all this stuff?"
The deeper they ventured inside, the more shocked Tang Rao felt. If not for the Little Hedgehog saying this was his place, he'd think he's stumbled into an Immortal Emperor's Mausoleum.
"Right here inside, in the Immortal Emperor's Mausoleum."
Splutter.
No wonder so wealthy.
But surely it's more than just the Immortal Emperor's Mausoleum, or else resources wouldn't be so abundant.
"Which Immortal Emperor is it? And how did you find your way here?"
Seeing so many treasures yet not daring to take them, just the thought made Tang Rao uncomfortable.
"I was originally the Immortal Emperor's immortal beast, served by the side from a young age. Unfortunately, the Immortal Emperor left ages ago, and I'm still only this small."
The Little Hedgehog couldn't quite explain why he's here, why he never grew bigger, nor aged.
"Are these things left for you by the Immortal Emperor, or for later generations, whoever finds them gets them?"
This boundary must be clearly defined.
"It's left by the Immortal Emperor for fated ones. The Immortal Emperor said if someone can get along with the Little Hedgehog, they could be brought in, then unlock the Image Stone and follow its instructions. But there's only one chance to activate it. Do you want it?"
Even now, the Little Hedgehog wasn't aware of the significant authority he held, why he could speak so calmly at such a level.
"Of course, I dream of it. Shall I give it a try?"
Tang Rao just found out, where does he have time to dream?
The Little Hedgehog truly believed Tang Rao.
"They need to wait outside; only you can go in. Outside, they can choose five items as they please."
Even the choices outside are astronomical numbers, aren't they?
The Little Hedgehog looks stingy, but when he speaks, he has the disposition of a wealthy landowner.
"Brother Tang Rao, we'll wait for you outside; you go in."
Should Tang Rao receive the Immortal Emperor's inheritance inside, such a rare opportunity—a rightful claim for Brother Tang Rao.
"Alright, I'll try to come back soon."
Tang Rao followed the Little Hedgehog inside, letting the Little Hedgehog lead him in wandering around the Immortal Emperor's Mausoleum.
"The Mausoleum is divided into three rises and falls, closely related to his life experiences. You'll need to input Spiritual Energy into the three rises and falls Array. If linked with the Immortal Emperor's Spirit Root inside, then all the things are yours."
Is it really that simple?
Tang Rao didn't think it'd be that easy; why does he always encounter such good fortune?
"You mean I just need to put Spiritual Energy into this three rises and falls Array, and it'll automatically identify, then it's done?"
Tang Rao didn't believe it and reconfirmed with the Little Hedgehog.
"Chirp chirp chirp chirp—"
The Little Hedgehog confirmed.
Tang Rao became interested; once Immortal Energy went in, his desired items would be at hand.
"Let's give it a try."
He spat a bit of saliva onto both hands, rubbed them together, then gathered the purest Immortal Energy to form a Bomb Ball. The Bomb Ball was directly hit into the middle of the Array, and the ball instantly vanished.
If his eyes hadn't deceived him earlier, the Bomb Ball had been absorbed by the Array.
"Such strong Array comprehension, Tang Rao's skill compared to the Array is nothing but equal, incomparable."
Rumble rumble.
Inside the Array, the Bomb Ball started taking effect, bursting multicolored bubbles.
Soon, the Array became rainbow-like.
"What's happening; is it recognition or not?"
The Little Hedgehog had not mentioned how the Array recognizes someone.
Tang Rao waited a good while without the Little Hedgehog's response; where did that little fellow go?
Turning around.
The little fellow hadn't gone far; he'd simply been shocked into place, stunned.
"Hey, eat roasted meat."
Tang Rao snapped his fingers in front of the Little Hedgehog; he snapped back to reality, "Chirp chirp chirp chirp—"
Where's the roasted meat?
No roasted meat, of course.
"You haven't told me if I'm recognized."
Tang Rao burst the Little Hedgehog's bubble, dousing his thoughts of roasted meat, determined to understand the Array's explanation.
"Of course recognized, multicolor is the highest level; are you also of Ancient Taotie Bloodline?"
The Little Hedgehog had been frightened by such news.
"You know about this?"
This was no ordinary treasure-hunting Little Hedgehog; it seemed educated, more knowledgeable than Tang Rao.
"Of course, I know many things. The Immortal Emperor liked me, took me many places, told me lots of stories. What you know is merely child's play."
