Ashen God

Chapter 968: Forty-five Times Shield Value Limit!

Besides the Death Wave Skill, Zhang Yanhang is equally focused on the Seeking Fortune and Avoiding Evil Skill. Zhang Yanhang has currently upgraded the skill to Origin LV.6, with a base perception range of 22,400 meters, which previously reached 35,840 meters with the Divination Tarot Card Set bonus.

However, this 35,840 meters was only due to a 60% skill coverage range bonus, and Zhang Yanhang has now increased it by an additional 30%, so his actual perception range has grown to 42,560 meters, an increase of 6,720 meters compared to before.

"Previously, when the Seeking Fortune and Avoiding Evil Skill was upgraded to Origin LV.6, it managed to provide an increase of just 6,400 meters with the additional attributes' bonus, and now it's even 320 meters more than upgrading the skill, showing that increasing the skill coverage range bonus is still very much needed."

As the perception coverage range significantly increased, it was unsurprising that the coverage area of the Seeking Fortune and Avoiding Evil Skill also expanded more rapidly, soaring directly from the original 1,009 square kilometers to 1,423 square kilometers, equivalent to a one-time increase of 414 square kilometers.

"The three districts in the city, plus Lao Mountain District and the nearby Chengyang District, total 1,120 square kilometers. I initially thought there was little hope of completing this small goal, but now I've managed to achieve it forcibly with the Divination Tarot Card Set upgrade, exceeding it by quite a margin."

Besides the three districts in the city, Lao Mountain District, and Chengyang District, Qin Island City still has three more districts: one Development Zone, one Jimo District, and one Huangdao District.

However, these three districts are larger, with just the Development Zone covering 565 square kilometers, the Jimo District 1,780 square kilometers, and the largest Huangdao District reaching an impressive 2,096 square kilometers.

It can be said that the Jimo District and Huangdao District alone already surpass Zhang Yanhang's current coverage range, let alone combining them for scanning, which is entirely unrealistic.

Currently, the only district that Zhang Yanhang can scan together would be the Development Zone, but even the Development Zone measures 565 square kilometers. When combined with the other five districts, the total area amounts to 1,685 square kilometers, which is temporarily beyond Zhang Yanhang's reach, as he still needs 262 square kilometers to scan them together.

Although larger districts like Jimo and Huangdao are beyond Zhang Yanhang's coverage, his Seeking Fortune and Avoiding Evil Skill has finally managed to fully cover some smaller county-level cities under Qin Island City's jurisdiction to a certain extent.

For example, Jiaozhou City, subordinate to Qin Island City, covers an area of 1,324 square kilometers, which is now entirely surpassed by the coverage area of Seeking Fortune and Avoiding Evil.

Zhang Yanhang's next small goal is to surpass another county-level city, Laixi City, which measures 1,568 square kilometers. He currently needs only 145 square kilometers more of coverage area, making it certainly easier to surpass than the Development Zone.

Meanwhile, Zhang Yanhang can finally scan one-tenth of Qin Island City at once. Specifically, it's actually one-ninth or even one-eighth of Qin Island City, undoubtedly a historic breakthrough, considering he used to only be able to scan a few percent at best.

"Although Qin Island City is still a bit large for me to scan entirely at once in the short term, if this were the Ashen World, I could now scan 36 Raccoon Cities, 36 small Crimson Iron Ant Nest Dalagus, 13 Goblin Plains, 3.5 Demonized Swamps, and 2 large Crimson Iron Ant Nest Taranos at once."

Zhang Yanhang is undoubtedly very pleased with this growth, believing that even upgrading his rank might not surpass this growth, given that it has set a new record.

After sequentially resolving all additional attributes except Life Value and Energy Value, Zhang Yanhang feels it's time to check the growth of his Life Value Limit, especially as it has both Life Value Limit bonuses and an increased Maximum Life Value Conversion Coefficient, promising another significant increase in his Life Value Limit.

Thinking of this, Zhang Yanhang opened his Life Value Limit to check.

[Life Value: 43,256/43,256 (Constitution × 88 (+6), the current body has been formally digitized, Life Value recovery rate, 71 points per hour.)]

"Originally, I only had a Maximum Life Value Conversion Coefficient of 82 points, but now it's increased to 88 points, an increase of 6 points compared to before. With my 100 Constitution Attribute, it provides a Life Value Limit of 600 points."

Zhang Yanhang's Life Value Limit, with the Maximum Life Value Conversion Coefficient and Life Value Limit bonuses, increased from 39,391 points to 43,256 points, gaining an additional 3,865 points.

Of course, as with last time, the composition of this Life Value Limit increase was equally complex, divided into three parts: The first part is the foundational 600 points of Life Value Limit from the six-point Maximum Life Value Conversion Coefficient.

The second part is the 1,158 points of Life Value Limit obtained from the previous Life Value Limit bonus on the 600 points of Life Value.

The final third part is the 15% Life Value Limit through the bonus on both the original Life Value Limit and the newly increased 600 points, totaling 2,107 points of Life Value Limit.

"After wearing the Life Ring last time, I set my next small goal at 40,000 points Life Value Limit, and indeed, I easily accomplished this small goal. In doing so, the 41,000 points, 42,000 points, and 43,000 points Life Value Limit goals were also completed simultaneously."

Having achieved four small goals at once, Zhang Yanhang plans to set his next small goal at 44,000 points Life Value Limit. Compared to other small goals he cannot complete before rank promotion, Zhang Yanhang feels it still has the potential to be achieved.

Though he currently falls short of this small goal by 744 points in Life Value Limit, he might have the opportunity to achieve it when organizing artifact gains, possibly consuming some Yellow Medicine Grass or something similar.

"Previously, my Life Value Limit was only 8.8 times that of a Fourth Tier Awakened, but now it has increased to 9.6 times, an increase of 0.8 times compared to before.

For the small goal of reaching nine times the Life Value Limit of a Fourth Tier Awakened, Zhang Yanhang had been confident that he could achieve it. Now, it seems it was indeed an easy task, as he casually upgraded the Divination Tarot Card Set and completed it alongside.

Although the probability is not very high, Zhang Yanhang still plans to set his next small goal at ten times the Life Value Limit of a Fourth Tier Awakened. Currently, he is short by about 0.4 times. Frankly speaking, it remains relatively difficult to achieve.

Of course, as long as he is willing to grit his teeth and consume more Artifacts, there is still a chance to achieve it. However, he most likely won't be able to bring himself to do it, as the necessity of this task is not very high.

If it were a very important matter, he would definitely go to any lengths to complete it in most cases. But for something that's somewhat indifferent, there really is no need to force himself.

"Previously relying on forty Life Rings, I had a 2400% Life Value Recovery Speed Bonus. Adding in the 71 points of Life Recovery Speed, it reached 1775 points.

And this time, unlike the other Divination Tarot Card Set bonus effects, this was the first time I obtained the Divination Tarot Card·Death, responsible for providing the Life Value Recovery Speed Bonus. So, with the upgrade's improvement, I actually obtained a total of 180% increase. Thus, my current Life Value Recovery Speed Bonus is 2580% in total."

With an additional 180% Life Value Recovery Speed Bonus, Zhang Yanhang's actual Life Value Recovery Speed has now reached 1903 points per hour, an increase of 128 points compared to before.

However, unfortunately, although the Life Value Recovery Speed has indeed increased, because the Life Value Limit has grown even more, or rather, the rate of increase in the Life Value Limit far exceeds the growth rate of the recovery speed, the time needed to recover a full bar of Life Value Limit has once again lengthened.

Zhang Yanhang had originally compressed the time needed to restore a full bar of Life Value Limit to twenty-two hours, but with this increase in Life Value Limit, it has instead grown by another hour, now requiring twenty-three hours to fully recover a bar of Life Value.

Zhang Yanhang had already anticipated the increase in recovery time. However, in his anticipation, due to the lack of increase in the Life Value Recovery Speed, he felt that the time required to restore Life Value would definitely grow even more, easily surpassing twenty-four hours.

But thanks to this wave of increase in the Life Value Recovery Speed, it finally managed to barely salvage the recovery time, avoiding a situation where a small goal just achieved immediately became invalid again. This is something he truly would not want to repeat.

Nonetheless, due to the estimated continuous growth of the Life Value Limit, Zhang Yanhang actually remains skeptical about whether he can continue to maintain this small goal of compressing the recovery speed within twenty-four hours.

But skepticism aside, it definitely should not affect the growth of the Life Value Limit since its growth is far more important than increasing the Life Value Recovery Speed.

After reviewing the increase in the Life Value Limit, Zhang Yanhang quickly moved on to check his Shield Value Limit. Since the small goal set for the Life Value Limit has already been smoothly achieved, he felt confident that there shouldn't be much of an issue with the Shield Value Limit.

[Shield Value: 203306/203306 (Life Value Limit ×470%, Recovery Speed: 20% per second.)]

"My previous Shield Value Limit was only 185140 points, but now it has grown to 203306 points, which is equivalent to an increase of 18166 points in the Shield Value Limit. That's impressive, almost a twenty thousand point increase and roughly a ten percent growth, which is quite substantial."

Zhang Yanhang remembered that his previous small goal for the Shield Value Limit was set at 190,000 points, which has now been easily achieved. Furthermore, the subsequent originally planned small goals of 195,000 points and 200,000 points Shield Value Limit have also been completed together.

As a result, Zhang Yanhang plans to set his next small goal for the Shield Value Limit at 205,000 points, currently just short by 1694 points. With the Shield Value Limit currently at a high rate of 470%, essentially any small increase in the Life Value Limit would allow him to complete this small goal, making it relatively easy.

"Previously, when my Shield Value Limit was only 185140 points, it was equivalent to 41.1 times the Life Value Limit of a Fourth Tier Awakened. Now, with my Shield Value Limit reaching 203306 points, it is equivalent to 45.2 times the Life Value Limit of a Fourth Tier Awakened."

Compared to before, Zhang Yanhang's Shield Value Limit this time grew directly by as much as 4.1 times, allowing him to easily achieve the previously set small goal of 45 times the Life Value Limit of a Fourth Tier Awakened.

When Zhang Yanhang initially set the small goal of reaching a Shield Value Limit of 45 times the Life Value Limit, he considered it quite challenging. However, in hindsight, it was actually not a big deal. With the help of the Divination Tarot Card, he completed it effortlessly.

However, although the small goal of 45 times the Shield Value Limit was effortlessly achieved, Zhang Yanhang does not plan to continue pursuing the originally set small goal of 50 times the Shield Value Limit. After all, he is currently short by 4.8 times still, making the goal completely unattainable at this point.

Therefore, small goals that are completely unattainable really have no value worth setting. Only goals that can be quickly accomplished within a certain time frame can be considered small goals.

Zhang Yanhang had long thought that achieving 50 times the Shield Value Limit in the Fourth Tier was certainly impossible, and now this idea has been completely validated.

In fact, Zhang Yanhang feels that even if he reaches the Fifth Tier, the small goal of 50 times the Shield Value Limit might still be unattainable.

Of course, the reason he doesn't say there is no hope at all is not due to confidence in himself, but rather confidence in Technique Immunity alone.
