Reincarnated! A Tale of the Sorceress Amaya

Chapter 314: Initiation

Amaya

After helping Lucy finish her snack, I got back to looting. Eventually we made our way downstairs and found a vault.

It was a large round door, gleaming with runes and no visible keyhole. The door was made from metal, the wall seemed to be stone. However, the stone was clearly enchanted.

"You could devour it." Lucy suggested, standing next to me.

"I am out of 9th tier spell slots, we would have to stay the night." I replied.

Lucy shrugged. "Not the worst idea. They have some comfy beds here, we have food and we aren't in a hurry. We still have the emergency teleports, in case we need them."

"True, I guess we will have to come back." I agreed.

We moved on and found the prison next. It was rather large with about 100 cells, some of them big enough to hold at least 10 people, or big demons, I suppose. All of them were empty. Either they escaped when the palace was abandoned, or they had been sacrificed for Ashmedai's ritual.

We also ran into Shani, who was sad that she could not find anyone to slaughter. I told her we would likely stay the night and she walked off muttering about taking a blood bath.

Eventually we ended up in the kitchen and found Lily and Kira. Kira was wearing an apron, and part of her was covered in flour. She was happily kneading a dough while Lily tried to bake something on the tray in her hand.

"Uh… hi." I said, not sure how to interpret the scene.

"Is that dessert?" Lucy asked enthusiastically.

"Maybe?" Lily replied, looking away briefly from her work. "We are trying to create a chocolate bacon brownie."

Kira looked a bit embarrassed. "I… I decided to help Lily cook."

"She suggested the bacon. We have been experimenting for a while now. Our newest creation has added some caramel at the centre and bacon on the top. There is also a dash of brandy in there. We found a type of flour that can soak up some magic, it really adds to the taste if I cook it with lightning fire." Lily explained.

The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.

"I, uh, I can also add some lightning to certain ingredients. I have infused the brandy a bit. It has been made from wine. A wine made with a grape native to hell. Interesting taste. Would probably kill a normal person." Kira said.

"So… do you have anything finished?" I asked.

Lily smiled. "I do have some snacks, my ladies. They are over there, on the counter. I am afraid our final creation needs a bit more time."

We started snacking on the prepared treats while telling them about the safe. They had not found anything noteworthy, likely because they had spent most of their time in the kitchen. We kept chatting for a bit, until the brownies were done. They were marvellous.

Lucy's tails started wagging as she ate them. "Amazing job, Lily and Kira. Kira, you are hired as a cooking assistant." She proclaimed.

Kira's eyes widened. "I… Uh… Maybe…"

"This is really good." I agreed. "We are definitely taking all their food supplies."

After our meal we called it a night. It had been an exhausting day. I found a nice large and sturdy bed for Lucy and myself. Maybe it was not quite time for sleep just yet.

The next morning I awoke feeling refreshed. I looked at Lucy sleeping next to me and started stroking her tails. So much fluff, it was glorious.

She woke up soon afterwards and we got up to get breakfast. Lucy and Kira were already cooking.

"Amaya, Lucy, I would like to become your maid knight." Kira stated.

I scratched my head. "Uh, sure."

"Welcome!" Lucy said.

"That calls for a ritual! Oh no, we will need more blood!" Shani shouted. I turned around to see the elemental hovering behind me. "I will get some! Wait for me!" Shani disappeared with surprising speed.

"The ritual needs blood?" Kira asked.

"Eh, not really. Shani loves to add it to all of my rituals. It has not hurt so far, I am not sure how much it is helping. But we do want an elemental lord for the ritual." I replied.

We were still eating breakfast when Shani returned. "I got something! It's a giant hairy worm thingy! The blood is a bit acidic but should be fine."

We were sitting in a dining room next to the kitchen. The elemental had burst through the double doors and had a strange thing hovering above her. It was indeed a bit worm-like, but with grey hair. The head seemed to be a simple opening with teeth. It might have been about three metres long and half a metre wide.

"Uh, sure. We can use that." I replied.

We quickly finished our food and went outside into the courtyard. I drew the ritual circle and prepared a sword for the knighting. Since she would be below Lily in the maid knight hierarchy Lily would do the knighting.

I released my aura, joined by Lucy's, to set the stage. I even coached Lily a bit to add hers into the bond. We had dark clouds, wind, lightning and rain.

"WILL YOU SWEAR FEALTY TO THE STORM?" Shani shouted.

"YES!" Kira replied.

"WILL YOU SERVE FAITHFULLY UNTIL THE FINAL DAWN?"

"YES!"

Shani squeezed her worm dry and bathed Kira in blood. Lily placed the sword on her shoulder and lightning fell from the sky, hitting both. The sword glowed and dissolved, the smoke entering Kira.

"RAISE, MAID KNIGHT OF THE STORM!" Lily shouted.

I could feel the link settling into our network. The new connection was strong. The link we had with the plane of air opened a bit further and new power streamed into the link. Being a lightning dragon Kira seemed to have a rather positive influence on it.

"This was weird… my ladies." Kira said. "I feel the link. I can feel some power…" She looked at her hands and summoned a bit of lightning.

"Welcome to the team! We can get you a uniform made when we are back… Actually, maybe we can use some cool things for it. Ashmedai's safe could have a few useful artefacts." I mused.

"And devouring the spell will provide a nice snack for us." Lucy added.
